Chapter 516: These Three Challenges Are Quite Relaxing
Chapter 516: These Three Challenges Are Quite Relaxing
Upon discovering the situation with the Swedish Short-Snout, Kyle immediately abandoned his plan to hide temporarily. He swiftly turned his broom and circled in the air, positioning himself directly above the dragon.
A burst of dragon flame shot towards him, but he skillfully dodged it.
"Hey, calm down," he said, flying to the dragon's head and ensuring it could see him. "We've met before, remember?"
The dragon's roar abruptly stopped, and its yellow vertical pupil, facing Kyle, shifted slightly, as if assessing him.
Then, the second flame in its mouth gradually extinguished, leaving only two trails of fire that shot out from its nose.
"Looks like you remember," Kyle said, his tense body relaxing slightly. Fortunately, he hadn't mistaken the dragon.
"How's your injury recovery going... It's been a while since we last met. If you have any scratches or bruises, I can help you with that."
As he spoke, Kyle maneuvered the Firebolt to the left front of the dragon.
He maintained a slight distance, not too far, so from the audience's perspective, it appeared as if he was engaged in a thrilling chase with the dragon.
The spectators in the stands couldn't help but let out loud exclamations.
The Short-Snout dragon snorted again, emitting a deep, low growl. Its speed slowed, seemingly bored and wanting to return to the cliff.
"Don't be in such a hurry to leave!" Kyle immediately called out.
The orange-yellow pupil turned towards him.
"Don't get me wrong," Kyle explained. "I just have a small favor to ask, something very minor..."
The dragon's face showed a hint of impatience, but it didn't attempt to leave again. Instead, it continued flapping its wings, following behind Kyle.
"You probably haven't noticed yet..." Kyle continued, "There's something else mixed in with your Ashstone. I can help you pick them out."
The dragon looked at him warily and let out a roar.
A ball of flame grazed the tail of the Firebolt, and the spectators in the stands gasped in tension.
"Don't worry, I'm not taking your treasure," Kyle quickly explained. "Just a few of them, and I can assure you, they're definitely not Ashstones..."
...
The man and the dragon continued their conversation as they flew, even leaving the stadium and circling around the castle before returning.
However, to the audience's surprise, the dragon seemed to stumble on the castle's tower.
"The distance is widening!"
In the stands, Fred shouted excitedly. Through his panoramic telescope, he could clearly see Kyle flying at full speed towards the cliff, "The dragon is at least fifty feet away from him! He has a chance to get those stones!"
"It's too dangerous!" Cedric exclaimed anxiously. "Don't forget there's another dragon there, and it's the most dangerous Hungarian Horntail!"
"But Kyle has already passed it!" George said, his eyes glued to the telescope.
He watched as Kyle fearlessly charged towards the cliff... The Horntail stood up and shot out a burst of flame, but Kyle nimbly dodged it.
"Nice!" George couldn't help but shout.
As the Firebolt's speed increased, the spectators' hearts began to race.
The Firebolt flew past the cliff... Kyle held the broomstick with one hand and quickly reached down with the other, as if grabbing something.
Then, he turned to the other side.
In that brief moment of pause, the dragon was only a few feet away from Kyle...
"Run..." Cona couldn't help but stand up in the audience, wanting to remind Kyle.
However, before she could finish her sentence, a deafening scream drowned out her words.
The crowd roared and cheered, their voices echoing through the stadium.
Unbeknownst to him, Kyle had already left the arena and was now standing on the other side of the stands, near the judges.
In his hand, three red stones glowed brightly.
"What a bold idea!" Bagman shouted, "He demonstrated exceptional courage... Ah, yes, he succeeded... It's unbelievable! Our youngest champion completed all the challenges at the fastest speed."
Kyle looked up and saw Dumbledore smiling at him. Karkaroff and Maxime were also smiling, but their expressions were visibly forced.
After leaving the arena, the surrounding voices suddenly grew louder, and the crowd's clamor continuously pounded his eardrums.
"That was amazing!" Professor McGonagall exclaimed as Kyle dismounted from the Firebolt.
She jogged over to Kyle, "Before the judges' scoring, you need to find Madam Pomfrey over there..."
Professor McGonagall pointed to the changing room on the other side of the corridor. Kyle noticed her hand was still trembling slightly.
"You did it, Kyle." Hagrid said in a hoarse voice, "You faced two fire dragons alone, while the other two don't even know what the third challenge is..."
"Thank you, Hagrid!" Kyle shouted, interrupting him.

Karkaroff and Maxime were standing nearby, their faces now visibly grim.
"Professor, can I go find Madam Pomfrey later?" Kyle turned to Professor McGonagall and asked, "I want to watch the rest of the competition."
"I understand, but it's not possible..." Professor McGonagall insisted.
"Alright then."
Kyle had no choice but to leave the arena. He saw Madam Pomfrey standing at the entrance of the second changing room, looking anxious.
"Spirit Cat, Roaming Ball, and Fire Dragon!" she said with disdain, pulling Kyle into the changing room. It was divided into several small compartments, resembling the hospital wing.
Madam Pomfrey carefully examined Kyle's back, grumbling all the while, "What were they thinking, bringing so many dangerous creatures into the school? You're lucky; your clothes are torn, but you're not injured... Here, drink this."
She took out a bottle of blue potion that was emitting smoke.
The Relaxing Potion, a popular choice among students before exams, could alleviate tension.
However, Kyle felt he didn't need it. For him, these three challenges were quite easy... He had only used the Summoning Charm from start to finish.
But Madam Pomfrey didn't think so. She watched Kyle drink the potion, then quickly left the compartment.
Kyle waited for a while, making sure Madam Pomfrey was out of earshot before he stood up to check on the situation outside.
Before he could even reach the door, a group of people rushed in.
"You're the first one to complete the challenges!" Cona exclaimed excitedly, "You're amazing!"
"That's right." Fred squeezed in from outside, "I bet your score will be the highest."
"How's the situation now?" Kyle asked curiously.
"Not good." Cedric replied, "Krum is having a hard time with the Spirit Cat. He used a spell to make his skin incredibly hard, barely passing the first challenge.
"And Delacour is stuck on the second challenge's platform, trying to destroy all the Roaming Balls.
"In my opinion, your Summoning Charm was simply divine. Delacour didn't think of that."
"Even if she did, it wouldn't have worked."
Fred smiled and said, "First, she'd need a Firebolt..."
