Chapter 515: And You, Powerless to Stop It
Chapter 515: And You, Powerless to Stop It
"Advanced Haki?!"
Wald's eyes widened as his body sprang into motion. The numbness inflicted by Snake Eyes had lasted only an instant.
But for warriors of their caliber, an instant was more than enough to turn the tide.
No dodging this!
Wald's gaze sharpened with a flicker of ruthless resolve. Clenching his fist, he channeled a swirling ink-green aura—Supreme Haki—around his arm.
"Of course I know Supreme Haki too!"
"Momo Hundredfold Punch!"
Hiss!!!
Bang!!!
Golden light swept downward as Wald's fist rocketed forward, slamming squarely into Kuro's face at point-blank range.
Even this short distance became lethal under Hundredfold Speed's acceleration.
Kuro's body blurred into a wispy afterimage as he hurtled backward, crashing into Shabondy's shoreline with a thunderous impact.
"Kuro!"
Lida cried out again.
Wait—why "again"?
The sheer force left a crater where Kuro landed, sending a mushroom cloud of dust and debris skyward.
Kuro emerged from the rubble, clutching his nose, his face contorted in agony.
Damn, that hurt like hell!
The sharp sting of a broken nose radiated through his skull, his pain twisting his features.
"Damn it!"
Spitting a mouthful of blood, Kuro's eyes burned crimson as he glared at Wald hovering above.
Wald, rebounding midair, inspected the dense network of white welts and minor cuts on his palm and forearm. Frowning, he muttered, "Recoil damage?"
His fist, protected by Supreme Haki, remained unscathed—but the shockwave had traveled up his arm, leaving shallow wounds on his forearm.
Yet...
Wald touched his chest, puzzled. He'd definitely been struck earlier—why no injury?
"Hey, brat, were you bluffing just now?" Wald taunted, bouncing midair.
Kuro silently sheathed Autumn Water, the blade gliding smoothly into its scabbard.
Then he lifted his head. "Can't you hear it?"
"Huh?" Wald tilted his head.
Click.
Kuro gripped the hilt, sealing Autumn Water in its sheath.
"Divine Wind's Whisper."
Hiss!!!
A crimson arc of blood erupted from Wald's chest, spraying like a macabre rain across the battlefield.
He stared at his bloodstained hand pulled from his torso—a gaping wound now split his chest to abdomen, oozing crimson.
"You old bastard!"
Kuro snarled, his voice gruesome. "If I don't carve you to death today, I'll change my name to Lucius Kro!!"
Once was tolerable.
But this was the second time Wald had struck his face—with Supreme Haki no less!
Does he think I’ve no pride?!
Last time someone dared punch his face was Kaido—ask him how that scar on his chest still aches!
Once pierced by his blade, the damage wasn't just a scratch.
Though Wald wasn't a monster like Kaido or Big Mom, his unarmed combat packed power—yet the wound Kuro inflicted dwarfed Wald's own punch in severity.
Wald's body wavered midair, then plummeted.
He couldn't fly—reeling from injury, his Moonstep faltered, sending him toward the Grand Line's waters.
But as he fell, he rebounded, kicking off the air, propelling himself backward.
There—Hawk-Eye stood on his small boat, already drawing his massive Black Blade.
"Momo Hundredfold Punch!"
Wald's speed blurred into a flash, appearing above Hawk-Eye in an instant, diving down with a fist aimed at his head.
"Not destroying my ship, are you?!" Wald growled, his voice dripping menace.
Hawk-Eye met his gaze, raising Black Blade to parry.
Bang!!
The collision erupted with a shockwave, shattering the boat beneath their feet. Hawk-Eye's eyes flickered as he leapt back, deflecting Wald's fist, then slashed downward.
A purplish-black crescent slash roared from his blade. Using the recoil, Hawk-Eye propelled himself backward, skimming the sea surface in a fluid retreat before landing a spinning leap on Shabondy's shore.
The deadly slash now barreled toward Gloriosa.
The frail old man climbed the ship's bow, glaring at the approaching slash. Gritting his teeth, he spread his arms wide. "This is our dream—I'll never let you destroy it!"
Wald...
Even if you've changed, I still carry this dream!
Benn Beckman closed his eyes.
Bang!!
A thunderous boom erupted beside him.
A shockwave engulfed Benn, sending him rolling backward as he snapped his eyes open.
Before him, Wald stood tall, arms crossed in defense, his broad back shielding Benn.
Benn stared at the blood streaming from Wald's chest, his voice trembling. "Wald, you—"
"Don't flatter yourself, Benn Beckman." Wald didn't turn. "This ship is my ambition—I won't let it be damaged. As for you, if you're just going to be a nuisance, stay back and watch. Watch how I reduce Mariejois to rubble."
"Blocked it?"
Kuro sneered. "But can you stop both of us, Hawk-Eye? Let's go!"
"I decline."
Hawk-Eye sheathed Black Blade, already ashore. "As you see, my boat's destroyed. Unlike you, I can't fly. I'll stay here."
"What?!"
Kuro glared. "You're a Seven Warlords of the Sea! It's your duty to eliminate Wald!"
"Then fetch me another ship. But..." Hawk-Eye smirked, nodding ahead. "You sure you have time?"
Bang!
A cannonball, identical to the previous, roared toward them.
Kuro's teeth clenched as he dodged, slicing the cannonball apart mid-air before it could explode, then rocketed toward Gloriosa.
"Hawk-Eye, if Shabondy loses a single hair, we're settling this later!" Kuro shouted, vanishing into the distance.
Can't force him to fight. But with Kuro on Shabondy, Wald's other attacks would be contained.
As for him—time to settle Wald's debt for slapping his face twice!
Landing low, Kuro's palm skimmed the sea surface, glaring at the massive ship.
"Perish with the ship, you bastard!"
A colossal vortex churned the waters, its twisting force capable of shredding anything.
"Lion's Might!!"
