Chapter 512: Frostfire Flame
Chapter 512: Frostfire Flame
As he had just seen while diving from the sky, there was a fairly large island about ten kilometers northeast of here, covered with green vegetation.
Fighting a goddess with ocean-related powers in the sea was clearly not a wise choice.
"Arrogant mortal ants, your arrogance and ignorance will only bring you endless suffering. I will extract your soul and preserve it as a spirit core, torturing it day and night!" Sea Goddess Hela snarled.
Rayne, however, noticed sharply that the large expanse of seawater beneath Sea Goddess Hela's feet began to turn a deep, intense black, as if a bottle of ink had been poured into a pond, continuously polluting the surroundings.
The peculiar sea beasts accompanying the 'Leviathan Whale' Jorgmund, unable to dodge in time, were touched by the black water and let out agonizing cries. The quicker ones, strange crabs, severed their own limbs to escape, while the slower ones instantly turned into pools of pus.
Witnessing this, not only did the Sea God Cult's flying knights and higher-ranking members scatter, but even the 'Leviathan Whale' Jorgmund slowly moved its massive body, clearly not wanting to touch the black water.
The corrosive power of this black water was terrifying, to say the least!
If this black water continued to spread, the affected sea would become a dead zone, devoid of any life. No wonder she was called the Goddess of the Depths.
"Princess Menya, take Tassa and leave quickly!"
"The Goddess of the Depths' indiscriminate area attack has already created gaps in the encirclement", Rayne transmitted telepathically.
"Rayne, as a metal-type, you are at a disadvantage against the Goddess of the Depths. Let me handle her. You help stop the Leviathan Whale, and Tassa should be able to escape safely."
"Alright!" There was no time for further discussion, and Rayne immediately agreed.
Sea Goddess Hela had already launched her attack. She raised her hands, and the black seawater around her instantly surged hundreds of meters high, like a dark curtain sweeping toward Menya and Rayne.
"Come, let me see how much strength you, this arrogant ant, possess!"
"Along with the uncouth Dragonborn behind you, you will both perish in the sea!"
Facing Hela's attack, Menya spread her wings and positioned herself in front of Rayne. She lightly touched the blue gemstone pendant below her neck and murmured something.
In the next moment, the energy within the blue gemstone was released. To Rayne's surprise, it wasn't fire but a chilling, frigid energy. A blue cold current, like a sapphire ribbon, swirled around Menya's red dragon body.
The mere scattering of the blue energy instantly froze the surging seawater around them!
Furthermore, after channeling this icy energy, Menya did not directly attack Sea Goddess Hela. Instead, she raised her other Dragon Claw and unleashed the condensed flame energy that had been building up.
This immediately formed a mixture of extreme cold and condensed fire energy in front of her.
Two comets, glowing with brilliant blue and red light, intertwined like snakes mating, spiraling and hurtling toward Sea Goddess Hela like meteors.
"Frostfire Flame!" Menya declared.
"Hmm? The frost power of the Ancient Frost Giant Ymir. A fine technique indeed. It seems the dragon has left you and your kin with many good things", Sea Goddess Hela's face grew serious in response to Menya's attack.
The explosive energy contained within was highly unstable, and even the slightest touch would trigger a massive explosion.
Moreover, neither ice nor fire was weak against the Dark Sea. In fact, they had a certain degree of suppression.
Rayne, amazed by Menya's ace move, suddenly dove down toward the 'Leviathan Whale' Jorgmund, taking advantage of the moment when the whale's attention was focused on the battle between Hela and Menya, to seize the initiative.
"Weakness Control!"
For the first time, Rayne activated the core skill of King of Thousand Blades while in his dragon form.
In ordinary battles, activating too many core skills simultaneously would drastically increase energy consumption. Although Rayne had only six remaining attribute points, now was not the time to be stingy with his energy.
In his vertical pupils, a three-dimensional 'reflection' of the opponent's body appeared, with the massive form outlined by virtual lines and marked with numerous blue dots, a few yellow dots, and only two red dots.
The 'Leviathan Whale' Jorgmund, naturally unafraid of the forty-meter-long Dark Silver Dragon, roared and charged at Rayne.
However, it didn't notice that a Dark Silver Metal Disk suddenly appeared behind Rayne's right Dragon Claw, humming ominously.
As the two rapidly closed the distance,
"Go!"
Rayne's Dragon Claw shot out, and before the 'Leviathan Whale' Jorgmund could react, a flash of Dark Silver light streaked past.
Jorgmund immediately felt a sharp pain in his right fin. Looking down, he saw that his several-meter-long fin had been completely severed in one strike!
This was precisely the tactic Rayne had devised based on the results of Weakness Control, as the two red points indicating the weaknesses were located at the junctions of the Leviathan Whale's left and right fins with its body.
"Sixth Form!"
Just before the close combat, Rayne's body suddenly expanded and transformed into Ancient Dragon Form!
"Roar!!!"
Before Jorgmund could finish his angry roar, the transformed Rayne spun around and narrowly grazed the Leviathan Whale's body. His Dragon Claws, gleaming with a cold, sharp light, slashed a deep, nearly half-meter-long gash into the tough, resilient hide!
"Hiss!!!"
Although Rayne's nearly sixty-meter-long body was still much smaller than Jorgmund's two-hundred-meter-long form, Rayne did not engage in a direct power struggle. More importantly, with one of its main fins severed, Jorgmund's agility was greatly reduced.
Thus, Rayne, with his Dragon Claws, now seemed like a nimble weasel hunting a much larger rabbit. The agile and powerful Dark Silver dragon leaped and bit around the Leviathan Whale, quickly leaving Jorgmund covered in wounds!
Meanwhile, Menya's 'Frostfire Flame' and Sea Goddess Hela's black water wall collided, creating a magnificent spectacle. Red, blue, and black intertwined, and a massive energy wave rippled outward from the point of impact, forming concentric circles. For a moment, the two energies, both highly condensed, did not explode but repelled each other.
In the air, a red and blue beam of light struggled intensely against a black water curtain!
The injured Red Dragon Tasa, seeing the opportunity, immediately spread its wings and flew toward the gap in the encirclement.
From a distance, Reginald's eyes lit up, and without needing any direction, his mount Ted charged toward the area near Red Dragon Tasa, trying to block the pursuing Flying Fish Knight and Manta Ray Knight.
"Oh? Trying to run? Can you escape?" Sea Goddess Hela, who was battling Menya, smiled and waved her hand toward Tasa's position.
Dozens of black water vortices appeared out of nowhere and, like guided missiles, pursued Tasa from different directions.
"Oh no!"
Red Queen Menia, despite her best efforts, was unable to stop Sea Goddess Hela from easily casting ancient magic to attack Tasa. She was unable to break free from her own battle.
In the next moment, seven or eight black water vortices struck the already severely injured Red Dragon Tasa.
"Roar!!!"
With Tasa's anguished cry, the once brightly shining red body was now enveloped in black water, large patches of flesh beginning to rot, turn black, and drip off.
"It seems I will have an additional Nether Dragon in my ranks."
Seeing this, Sea Goddess Hela immediately blocked Menya, who was trying to come to Tasa's aid, and taunted her.
At this moment, the pursuing Sea God Cult's Flying Fish Knight and Manta Ray Knight, as well as the High Warlock following Reginald, all wore expressions of joy and rushed toward the severely wounded Red Dragon Tasa.
"Menya, remember to melt my scales into your staff, so Blaze can forever burn your enemies."
As Tasa's voice echoed, a red Reverse Scale fell like a meteor toward Menya.
"No! Tasa!" Menya's face paled, and she cried out in shock.
The next second!
A second sun appeared on the sea, and its light was a thousand times brighter than the real sun in the sky.
The Sea God Cult's High Warlock, Flying Fish Knight, and Manta Ray Knight, who were surrounding Tasa, raised their hands to shield their eyes. Many of them were visibly alarmed and tried to retreat.
But it was too late.
The shockwave from Red Dragon Tasa's self-destruction not only created a massive depression in the sea but also shredded the densely packed enemies in the air into dust!
Boom!!!
At that moment, a powerful shockwave began to spread out. Rayne, who was pummeling the Leviathan Whale Jorgmund, couldn't help but look up.
"Did Tassa self-destruct?" Just a glance, and the familiar aura, along with Menya's exclamation, made Rayne immediately understand what had happened.
The Red Dragon Tassa, who had once gifted him a dragon scale, was now gone forever.
In the next second, Rayne turned his head and stared at Jorgmund, his eyes burning with flames.
For some reason, Jorgmund, looking at Rayne's calm face, felt a sudden chill run down his spine, as if he could sense that something terrible was about to happen.
Sure enough, Rayne, in his Ancient Dragon Form, flashed to the side of Jorgmund's wound and plunged in!
"No! No!"
"Get out! Rayne!"
The Leviathan Whale Jorgmund's face was filled with terror. He didn't understand why Rayne was completely unconcerned about his highly corrosive bodily fluids. Was Rayne determined to go down with him?
Moreover, why could his incredibly resilient body be so easily penetrated?
Questions swirled in Jorgmund's mind.
All Jorgmund could feel was as if a spinning saw blade was tearing through his insides, cutting wildly and mercilessly!
Even with his immense vitality, he couldn't withstand this.
"Bad! It's heading for my head!"
As the pain grew more intense, approaching his forehead, Jorgmund couldn't help but beg out of fear:
"Please, Rayne, if you come out, I'll leave immediately!"
"No! I was actually tricked into fighting you, forgive me—"
But before he could finish his plea, the Leviathan Whale's expression froze, his massive face showing a human-like mix of fear, unwillingness, and regret!
Pfft!
A Dark Silver dragon, with a body covered in rust-like patches, leaped out from the Leviathan Whale's forehead!
Despite the steel armor and dragon scales covering Rayne's body, his dragon form was still pitted and corroded by the Leviathan Whale's internal fluids.
However, Rayne's expression remained unchanged, as if the corrosion wasn't affecting him at all.
The two-hundred-meter-long Leviathan Whale began to flip over, its indigo body revealing a gray-white belly as it surfaced.
Mentally channeling his energy, the wounds on Rayne's body began to heal rapidly. The damaged dragon scales fell off, and new ones grew and expanded quickly, seamlessly repairing the damaged areas.
In the next second, he leaped out of the seawater, his gaze shifting to the Sea Goddess Hela, who was engaged in battle with Menya.
Meanwhile, dozens of nautical miles away from the battlefield, many of the federation's fishing and merchant ships had also noticed the dramatic changes in the sea!
After all, the massive water columns and the Whale Spring stretching thousands of meters, along with the intense battle between the giants, were clearly visible even from over a hundred nautical miles away.
As for the energy fluctuations, they spread even further.
"Bad! This is the Imperial Delegation's dirigible fleet fighting the beasts!"
A lookout on a federal navy three-masted sailboat, passing nearby, shouted from the top of the mast.
As part of the imperial official forces, he was aware of the Imperial Delegation's visit. Seeing one dirigible after another being destroyed, he immediately knew that things were serious!
"What?!"
A federal navy colonel in the control room, hearing the lookout's report, immediately picked up the brass telescope and began to investigate.
Sure enough, what he saw were dirigibles with a distinctly different design from the federation's, and the Dragon Head Emblem on the large gas bags of the dirigibles clearly identified them.
"Immediately report to Zetaia's Second Fleet Headquarters, fast!"
"Captain, if they're from the empire, isn't it a good thing for them to kill the beasts for us?" a nearby officer asked, puzzled.
"Idiot! If the Imperial Airship Fleet had the upper hand, it wouldn't be a problem, but look at how one dirigible after another is falling. They're clearly at a disadvantage!"
"Besides, I heard that this Imperial Delegation includes two Dragon Knights and an Epic-Level Warrior, and the leader is an Imperial Royal Member, the 'Red Queen' Menya. If they're still at a disadvantage, you can imagine how powerful their enemies must be!"
"Moreover, if the Imperial Delegation is wiped out here, the consequences will be dire!"
