Chapter 511: So I Said
Chapter 511: So I Said
Young Doctor was speechless for a long time, unable to utter a word.
The person on the other end of the phone said "hello" several times, and when no one responded, they hung up.
Only after the Star Array dissipated did Young Doctor regain his voice: "I think I just saw the Amber Star Array..."
Even now, he still couldn't believe his eyes.
Qiao Sang nodded: "It's orange-yellow. I broke through my Brain Domain today."
Young Doctor looked dazed: "How old did you say you were yesterday?"
Qiao Sang smiled: "Almost 16."
So he hadn't misheard... Young Doctor's pupils were filled with shock.
A prodigy like this, and her family was willing to let her study alone on another planet?
Wasn't that a bit too much confidence?!
15 years old! Throughout the entire history of Supernest, there has never been a Beastmaster who broke through 30% of their Brain Domain at 15!
Young Doctor took a deep breath, trying to suppress his shock. He tossed the phone onto the nearby table and nervously removed the Brain Domain detection helmet from Qiao Sang's head:
"I, I've never seen a high school student with such a high Brain Domain."
"How many credits will I get for this?" Qiao Sang didn't forget about the credits.
"I'll ask the administration." Young Doctor found himself being more respectful: "Breaking through the Brain Domain does earn credits, but there's no specific amount for breaking through 30%, as the school never expected any student to reach that level."
At this point, he looked a bit nervous: "We should exchange contact information. I'll let you know as soon as I get the results."
Thankfully, the school didn't strictly prohibit students from having phones, or he might have thought this was a setup... Qiao Sang took out her phone and said:
"Sure."
After they exchanged contact information, Qiao Sang seemed to think of something and asked:
"Teacher, is there a Training Field that can withstand destruction?"
The title "teacher" made Young Doctor feel extremely comfortable.
Although he was the School Doctor at Sai Nan High School and was highly respected outside, he knew how he was perceived within the school.
It wasn't that he was having a hard time, but the students here were polite on the surface yet extremely proud deep down, treating anyone outside their circle like mere Npcs.
This girl, although not from Supernest, had a talent far superior to the students here. When she called him "teacher", there was no hint of condescension, as if she genuinely respected him as a teacher.
Young Doctor thought seriously: "All Training Fields can withstand some destruction, but if you mean large-scale damage, the best place is the open field behind the school. Some teachers often train and battle there, so the ground is never in good condition."
"If you go there, it won't be a problem even if there are teachers training. The space is large enough that you won't be affected."
"I understand." Qiao Sang nodded.
...
8:29 PM.
Dormitory Area 1.
Dorm 502.
After finishing her homework, Qiao Sang, unusually, didn't read a book. Instead, she went online to search for Bonded Beasts suitable for a Beastmaster on Supernest.
Since the Beastmaster Codex now had a fourth page, she needed to start planning for her next Bonded Beast.
She had thought about a fourth Bonded Beast before.
Beastmasters had a limited number of Bonded Beasts, so each one should be chosen carefully.
Some Beastmasters specialize in one type, which can make their teams very limited. Not only can they be easily targeted in Beastmaster matches, but their chances of survival in the Hidden Realm also decrease significantly.
This is why Beastmasters usually enter the Hidden Realm in teams.
To survive the Hidden Realm unscathed, having a well-structured team is crucial.
Among her familiars, Fangy is undoubtedly the primary attacker, Treasure Seeker handles reconnaissance and control, and Lulu takes care of healing. The fourth familiar should ideally be strong in defense.
With this in mind, Qiao Sang typed: [What Junior Companion Beasts are strong in defense and suitable for a Beastmaster bond?]
The search results appeared quickly.
Qiao Sang clicked on a post marked with "many comments" in the bottom right corner. The original poster had the same question, and there were several replies:
[Strongly recommend the Frost Turtle. Its entire body is covered in a thick layer of Frost, almost like it's made of ice, with extremely high defense.]
[Don't mislead the OP. The Frost Turtle has high health defense but very low special defense and slow speed. If it encounters a wild beast companion on the way, it can only stand there and take the hits.]
[The Wall of Air is pretty good. It can naturally create air walls for defense.]
[I seriously doubt the poster above wants the OP to go bankrupt! Have you counted how many digits the cost of a Wall of Air is?!]
[The OP just asked for strong defense Junior Companion Beasts, no price limit mentioned. Why the rush?]
[For high defense, it has to be the Rock Rhino. A wild Rock Rhino once crashed through a building wall, leaving a hole, but it was unharmed. By the time the security team arrived, it was long gone.]
[I agree the Rock Rhino has strong defense, but it's incredibly dumb! It can only think about one thing at a time, and once it starts charging, it might even forget why it's running. With such a poor brain, forget about learning new skills or even proper training.]
[I recommend the Rock Shell.]
[The Rock Shell is reliable. Its defense is so strong that it's like a wall of copper and iron. It has a good temperament and will do whatever you ask. If the OP gets lucky, they might bond with one that has the Solid Trait.]
[But the Rock Shell is the one that can only stand there and take hits, at least the Frost Turtle has some offensive capabilities. The Rock Shell has no attack power at all; it probably wouldn't even hurt if it hit someone.]
[What about the Steel Sparrow? It has defense, attack, and speed.]
[Forget it. Steel Sparrows are a hassle. Even those from the Pet Beast Facility are hard to train. They're smart, so they pretend to be well-behaved to trick you into bonding, then they either run away or force a bond dissolution.]
[I thought of the Ironclad. It's covered in armor, has high defense, and looks cool. After evolution, the shed armor can be sold for money.]
[Is the poster serious? Ironclads love eating iron. Yesterday, an Ironclad in District 29 ate 12 cars, causing its Beastmaster to go bankrupt. The story is still trending online. Do you want to check it out?]
Is there no familiar that is well-rounded in all aspects? Qiao Sang closed the post and prepared to search other websites.
At that moment, she felt a sudden weight on her head.
Qiao Sang looked at the mirror on her desk but saw nothing on her head.
"What are you doing with Invisibility?" Qiao Sang asked.
"Xunxun."
Treasure Seeker whispered.
It was playing hide-and-seek with Big Brother Yabao and didn't want to be exposed.
"Alright, you keep playing. I'll talk to you later when you're done", Qiao Sang said in a low voice.
"Xun."
Treasure Seeker wanted to nod but held back, its curiosity getting the better of it. It called out softly, indicating that it could listen now.
"Okay, I'll tell you."
Treasure Seeker nodded.
"Get a good rest tonight and prepare for school tomorrow", Qiao Sang said.
Treasure Seeker: "?!!!"
