Chapter 511: Overwhelming Lin Qi
Chapter 511: Overwhelming Lin Qi (Requesting Monthly Vote)
A group of towering, muscular Martial Artists marched toward the gate, gripping sharp weapons with grim expressions. The air itself felt suffocating with menace.
This was a completely different atmosphere from the Disaster Beast Hunting Competition.
"Today we need to kill ten Grade 6 beasts and earn another 2000 Merit Points before I’ll quit!"
"Stop jinxing us!"
"I’m aiming for the top 50 spots on the Sixth Realm leaderboard!"
"You? Don’t talk big until you hit 30th place!"
The crowd buzzed with chatter as they gathered at the entrance.
A handsome figure named Guming, surrounded by six teammates, approached the gate. As a Gu family member, he wore a gleaming silver battle suit despite being only a Sixth Realm cultivator. His hand rested on a seventh-rank Battle Saber.
"Chief, it’s Liang Tai!" a burly man beside him growled, pointing ahead. Guming’s eyes met Liang Tai’s.
Guming sneered. "Liang Tai, your squad’s down to five people. Be extra careful out there. Don’t get yourselves killed on the battlefield."
Liang Tai scoffed. "Worry about yourself!"
Guming grinned. "Where’s your new meat shield? Too scared to show up?"
"You—" Liang Tai’s group bristled.
A calm voice cut through the noise. "Looking for me?"
The crowd parted, revealing a lone figure. Guming locked eyes with the newcomer—Lin Qi, clad in a black-and-gold battle suit.
The moment Guming’s men saw the gilded armor, their confidence crumbled. Guming himself narrowed his eyes, cautiously asking, "Didn’t expect you to have this kind of gear. You’re not Seventh Realm, are you? Your family must be loaded to afford a battle suit."
Lin Qi’s lips curled in disdain. "What? Can’t a Seventh Realm wear this?" He took a step forward. "You don’t even know who I am? Tell your brother Gu Cheng to ask about me back home."
A terrifying aura erupted from him, golden light blazing. Guming staggered under the oppressive force as Lin Qi’s hand slammed onto his chest.
Boom!
Guming’s knees buckled like they’d been crushed by a mountain. He collapsed onto the reinforced concrete, cracking the ground beneath him. A scream tore from his throat as blood spattered his lips—his shoulder and knee shattered.
Hiss!
The crowd inhaled sharply at the sight.
"Chief!" His teammates froze, fear rooting them in place. Lin Qi’s aura was simply too overwhelming.
Lin Qi released him, towering over him coldly. "A small lesson. Seventh Realm cultivators’ dignity isn’t to be trifled with."
In the martial world, challenging a higher realm opponent was almost suicide. At best, you’d be beaten senseless. In some countries, it meant death—the higher realm cultivators had the right to kill.
Crack!
Lin Qi’s palm slammed onto the burly man’s shoulder, shattering bones. Blood trickled down the man’s cheek as he screamed.
"And you too", Lin Qi said, dismissing them like ants before turning to Liang Tai. "Senior Disciple, let’s go."
Liang Tai, Xiao Yu, and Xi Jing snapped out of their shock and followed Lin Qi out the gate.
The crowd erupted.
"Who is this guy? He’s insane!"
"Guming’s from the Gu family! A Sixth Realm Bone Marrow cultivator!"
"He was wearing a seventh-rank battle armor—could take on a Grade 7 beast! And this guy just knocked him down with one hand!"
"He’s not just Seventh Realm—he’s way beyond that!"
"His brother is Huolongdao Guming! They’re both at Black Dragon Base!"
"Even Seventh Realm cultivators wouldn’t dare offend the Gu family!"
"I know who he is!" someone shouted. "It’s Lin Qi!"
Gasps rippled through the crowd.
"The champion of this year’s Global Martial Arts Championship!"
"He defeated Ivan Petrov from Bear Republic as a Sixth Realm! A sophomore taking the crown—a Super Sss-Rank Genius!"
"And now he’s already a Seventh Realm cultivator? That’s absurd!"
"He’s Xia Kingdom’s strongest genius in recent years!"
"Didn’t expect him to show up here!"
Guming spat blood, his face pale with fury. His brother Gu Cheng had warned him about Lin Qi—a top-tier Sss-Rank Genius, far surpassing even him.
Slap!
He struck the burly man beside him. "Your fault! If you’d checked who he was yesterday, this wouldn’t happen! Now I’m humiliated in front of everyone!"
The man’s cheek burned red as he trembled, blood draining from his face. He’d thought he was going to die.
Outside Black Dragon Base’s gate, the air reeked of blood.
"Little Junior Brother, you’re too strong!" Liang Tai marveled. He’d once fought Guming—a fellow S-Rank Genius—but Lin Qi had just crushed him with a flick of his fingers.
Xiao Yu nodded. "That was awesome!"
Xi Jing smiled. "Never seen Guming so humiliated. Only you could do it."
Lin Qi smirked. Guming wouldn’t dare provoke them again. If he did, Lin Qi wouldn’t mind breaking every bone in his body.
Before them stretched the battlefield—a scorched wasteland littered with ruined structures and craters. Dried blood stained the ground, claw marks and weapon scars etched into the earth. The horizon twisted with spatial distortions.
Whoosh!
A cold wind swept through despite the blazing sun, the air icy with tension.
"It’s here", Senior Disciple Wang Zhi Xuan murmured. "The Spatial Gate has opened!"
Boom!
Fighter jets roared overhead, forming a canopy. On the walls, massive alloy turrets locked onto the gate—a colossal platform over a hundred meters wide, surrounded by towering metal pillars.
Crack!
A blinding beam lanced from the device, shattering space like glass. Through the portal, an endless forest emerged.
Roar!
Shadows surged as beasts poured through the Spatial Gate—hordes of Disaster Beasts charging toward the War Base.
Screech!
The skies darkened with winged horrors: Ironfeather Hawks, Steelwings, Blackcrow Eagles, Drakescales. The ground shook as the earth itself trembled to the beasts’ howls.
Lin Qi recognized countless creatures: Ironthorn Boars, Shadow Cats, Mawfang Hounds, Obsidian Horn Boars, Ironblood Scaled Boars, Grayspines, Silver Direwolves, Gold Wolflords, Bronze Wild Oxen, Clawrend Apes, and more.
Bang!
A thunderous voice echoed across the battlefield. "All units, engage!"
The air dropped to freezing as the beasts stormed the ruins, now less than two kilometers away.
Fire!
Booooom!
Hundreds of laser beams tore through the sky, vaporizing Ironthorn Boars and piercing Gold Wolflords and Bronze Wild Oxen. Explosions lit the battlefield as thousands of beasts fell. The stench of charred flesh filled the air, but the survivors charged on, trampling their fallen kin.
Screech!
Jet fire rained death from above, bullets and lasers shredding the sky. Feathers and blood rained like a storm.
