Chapter 510: In the Vast Wizarding World, Can't a Little Shop Earn Its Living in Peace?
### Chapter 510: In the Vast Wizarding World, Can't a Little Shop Earn Its Living in Peace? (Combined)
The only method Ivan could think of to contain a large-scale Fiendfyre was the Ultimate Spell!
If multiple people worked together, they could even suppress a Fiendfyre that had expanded to the point of destroying an entire city. And if he wasn't mistaken, Nicolas Flamel knew how to cast such Magic.
With this thought, Ivan slowly exhaled, closed the book in his hands, and returned it to the bookshelf.
He was very interested in the Black Family's library, but he had already spent four days here to destroy the Horcrux. It was time to leave!
At noon, after a hearty lunch with Sirius Black, Lupin, and Harry, Ivan announced that he planned to return home that afternoon.
"So soon? Aren't you going to stay a few more days? I haven't even had the chance to properly thank you for what you did for Regulus", Sirius Black said, somewhat surprised, and tried to persuade him to stay.
Ivan shook his head, declining Sirius Black's offer.
In a few days, it would be time to meet Nicolas Flamel as planned. He had already spent little time at home with Asia, and further delays wouldn't be good.
Seeing Ivan's determination, Sirius Black didn't press the issue, knowing that Wizards could easily meet each other.
"Then, would you like to use the fireplace here? I think we still have some Floo Powder left; let me find it", Sirius Black thought for a moment, then crouched down and opened a cabinet in the living room to search.
"Never mind! My mother has set up a Magic barrier on our fireplace, so I can't Apparate directly. I'll just Apparate on my own!" Ivan called out to Sirius Black, shrugging helplessly. He then waved his wand toward the stairs.
"Trunk, come here!"
A moment later, a small trunk came flying down from upstairs, landing in Ivan's hand.
After checking that nothing had been left behind, Ivan turned to Dobby and said, "Let's go, Dobby! It's time to introduce you to my mother."
Dobby nodded vigorously, clearly delighted, as this meant he would be officially joining his master's family.
"Apparition!"
After a brief farewell, Ivan and Dobby used Magic and vanished from the spot.
When Ivan steadied himself and looked around, he found himself in a corner of Knockturn Alley, not far from his Magic Shop.
However, the shop's door was closed, indicating that Asia wasn't at home.
What made Ivan even more uneasy was that the entire street was deserted, with all the windows and doors of nearby houses tightly shut.
Ivan frowned, as this situation reminded him of his experience when he returned to Knockturn Alley last summer.
But that shouldn't be the case. Ivan was confident he had dealt with all potential threats, and Fenrir and his group were responsible for protecting the Magic Shop.
A large group of Werewolf Wizards who could transform at will was a formidable force in Knockturn Alley. Normally, no one would dare provoke them.
Ivan quickly walked to the shop door and waved his wand to unlock it.
Click!
The sound of the lock being released echoed slowly. As the door opened, several black beams of light suddenly shot out from behind it.
Ivan instinctively activated his protective ring, and an invisible Magic Barrier appeared in front of him, deflecting the black beams. They struck the ground nearby, creating a large, corrosive pit.
"A trap set for me? No, that's not right!" Ivan entered the shop and noticed that there were no signs of a battle. Everything was neatly arranged, and a few Triggered Spells were set up on the shelves. He dismissed his initial suspicion.
This must be a warning system Asia set up before leaving to deter Uninvited Guests. He was familiar with this method, as it was typical of Asia's style.
If there had been a real ambush, a group of people would have rushed out to surround him. A few minor Magic spells wouldn't be enough to pose a threat to him.
But where was Asia now? And why did she leave this defensive Magic in the shop?
Ivan felt a sense of unease and suddenly remembered something. He opened the System's mission tab for a look.
Mission: Become the King of Diagon Alley
Mission Objective: Unify Knockturn Alley (Second Ring)
Mission Progress: 44%
Mission Reward: Fidelius Charm
Mission Description:】
As Ivan was watching the Mission Progress, it jumped again, from forty-four percent to forty-five percent.
Seeing the Mission Progress increase once more, almost reaching the halfway mark, Ivan immediately realized that things in Knockturn Alley were likely far from peaceful during his time at school.
He guessed that it was probably because he had led a group to eliminate Bogrod and other Dark Wizards, and his rapid rise in power had aroused the suspicion of certain individuals.
Asia might have had to defend herself against these people and gained a certain advantage, which is why the task progress had increased so much.
After figuring this out, Ivan couldn't help but feel frustrated. He had originally planned to move with Asia from the dangerous Knockturn Alley to the relatively safer Diagon Alley during the summer, but now it seemed that someone was preparing to cause them trouble at this critical moment.
Could the vast Wizarding World truly not accommodate a small shop that simply wanted to earn money in peace?
Ivan was extremely annoyed. He threw the Trunk to the House-Elf beside him and said, "Dobby, hold the trunk for me! I want to see who it is this time!"
Dobby fumbled to catch the trunk, giving Ivan a wary glance. This was the first time Dobby had seen Ivan so angry.
"Reducto! (Sectumsempra)"
"Stupefy! (Stupefy)"
In a deserted alley on the west side of Knockturn Alley, a gray-robed Auror was directing several Dark Wizards to corner Walker, who had transformed into a werewolf.
However, the various spells were not very effective.
After transforming into a werewolf, Walker's physical abilities had improved significantly, making him incredibly agile. He could dodge most spells purely by speed.
Even when occasionally hit by a spell, he could either use his protective ring to defend or rely on the werewolf's healing abilities to withstand the damage.
So, after a few minutes, despite being covered in injuries, Walker managed to hold on.
Seeing this, the Auror couldn't help but feel irritated. He had heard from colleagues that these Werewolf Wizards could transform while maintaining their sanity, but now he realized how difficult they were to handle.
However, this was because they wanted to capture Walker alive to extract information from him; otherwise, it wouldn't have taken so long.
Considering that reinforcements would soon arrive if they continued to drag this out, the gray-robed Enforcer decided to stop holding back. He pointed his wand at Walker and cast a green beam.
"Avada Kedavra! (Avada Kedavra)"
Walker's face changed drastically as he lunged forward, rolling on the ground several times. The dark green beam almost grazed his body, hitting the ground and creating a crater, with debris flying up and scratching his face.
Walker endured the pain, getting back to his feet, but his heart sank. No matter how strong the werewolf form's magic resistance and healing abilities were, they couldn't withstand the Killing Curse.
The Dark Wizards surrounding him had clearly lost their patience and were no longer considering capturing him alive.
Walker despaired, thinking he wouldn't be able to hold on until Fenrir and others noticed something was wrong and came to his aid.
Just as he imagined, after the gray-robed Enforcer used the Killing Curse, the other Dark Wizards, who had been restrained by the order to capture him alive, now unleashed powerful Dark Magic.
Walker was unable to dodge in time and was hit by a black beam. His protective ring absorbed some of the impact, but it couldn't eliminate all the damage. The force knocked him backward into a pile of rubble.
As the gray-robed Enforcer breathed a sigh of relief and prepared to send someone to confirm Walker's fate, a long, eerie scream echoed through the deserted alley.
The Dark Wizards were startled. Before they could react, a violent explosion and a loud boom occurred, and the street wall beside them exploded. Two Dark Wizards who were standing close together were thrown back by the shockwave.
Amidst the flying debris and rising dust, a horse-shaped shadow dashed through the breach.
The already frightened Dark Wizards swung their wands at the blurry shadow, firing various spell beams, but to no avail. The spells passed through the shadow without effect.
In the brief moment of hesitation, the lightning-fast Unicorn Shadow had already reached a panicked Dark Wizard, raising its hooves and stomping heavily on the wizard's face.
A sharp crack of breaking bones echoed in the alley. The unfortunate Dark Wizard's body tumbled and crashed into the wall behind him, clearly dead.
"Don’t use ordinary Magic, use the Patronus Charm to contain it!" the gray-robed Auror shouted loudly.
After the initial chaos, the gray-robed Auror recalled that two years ago, when he and several colleagues pursued Dawgert, the latter had used a similar type of Magic!
Although they had been defeated by Dawgert alone back then, after the battle, they had conducted some analysis and concluded that it must have been an extremely special type of Patronus Charm.
Under normal circumstances, it was intangible, indistinguishable from an ordinary Patronus Charm. It only materialized when in close proximity.
As he called out the warning, the gray-robed Auror didn’t hesitate. He waved his wand, summoning a translucent leopard Patronus that charged towards the Unicorn Shadow. However, it was quickly dispersed into a cloud of light mist upon contact.
This alert also reminded the other Dark Wizards of how to deal with this peculiar shadow. Soon, two more summoned their Patronuses.
The others remained vigilant, their eyes fixed on the breach in the street wall. Everyone knew that the true power lay not in the Magic itself, but in the Wizards who cast it.
Ivan, under the Disillusionment Charm, hadn’t expected to run into someone he knew so coincidentally. After causing the initial chaos, he certainly wasn’t going to let them suppress it so easily.
He raised his wand slightly, and the bricks and stones scattered from the destroyed street wall began to float as if pulled by an invisible force. Under the effect of a Transfiguration Spell, they twisted and transformed into sharp, cone-shaped spikes, radiating out in a semicircle.
The prepared Dark Wizards had already erected sturdy Magic Barriers to block this powerful area-of-effect Magic.
However, before the two forces could collide, a shadowy Magic Blade struck first, slicing through numerous Magic Barriers like a sharp knife before vanishing without a trace.
The speed of Sectumsempra was too fast and too sudden, leaving the Dark Wizards no time to reconstruct their Protective Charms. The cone-shaped spikes, enhanced by Magic, gleamed with a cold light and whistled through the air, heading straight for them.
In the next moment, the narrow alley echoed with shrill screams of agony!
A Dark Wizard at the front was pierced through the throat and eyes by the sharp spikes. He opened his mouth in pain, trying to say something, but after a few weak struggles, he fell silent.
The other Dark Wizards, though not hit in vital areas, were pierced through the chest, arms, and thighs by several spikes. They fell to the ground, howling in pain, blood pooling around them.
Only the gray-robed Auror and two Dark Wizards skilled in Protego managed to withstand the attack.
After casting two powerful spells, the Disillusionment Charm on Ivan's body automatically dissipated, revealing him to everyone.
Seeing the attacker’s appearance, the few standing figures almost thought they were seeing things. The gray-robed Auror’s pupils contracted, unable to contain his shock, and he spoke involuntarily.
"Of all people, it’s you!"
It had only been two years, and although Ivan had grown taller, his appearance hadn’t changed much. The gray-robed Auror immediately recognized him as the young troublemaker who had followed Dawgert and caused chaos in the Wizarding Market back then.
Considering the recent events, he now understood that Dawgert hadn’t been holding back or using a secret weapon to defeat them two years ago. Instead, it was this thirteen- or fourteen-year-old young witch or wizard who had provided Dawgert with assistance!
No wonder Dawgert hadn’t used this special Magic during the past few months of open and covert conflicts.
However, while realizing this, the gray-robed Auror found it hard to believe.
Staring at Ivan’s youthful face, he was more willing to believe that Ivan was actually Dawgert in disguise using Polyjuice Potion. Otherwise, how could someone of his age possess such powerful Magic?
Ivan paid no heed to their thoughts. His face still bore the remnants of his anger as he stepped closer to them.
The cries of pain continued to echo in the empty alley, and the crimson blood splattered onto his shoes.
The gray-robed Auror and the remaining two Dark Wizards moved backward in fear, until they hit the wall behind them. They then glared at Ivan, wands trembling as they pointed at him.
