Chapter 51: Three Level 10 Dungeons
Chapter 51: Three Level 10 Dungeons
Chime! "Congratulations! You've triggered the hidden quest [Undying Affection]. Do you wish to accept?"
"Accept."
Since the hidden quest is related to Tina, he might as well take it on.
Chime! "You have accepted the hidden quest [Undying Affection (Rare) 1/10]."
"Quest Description: Take the red filly to Orlan City and find the Warrior's Guild supervisor Quinn. Ask her why Tina abandoned her mount."
"Quest Reward: 200 Experience Points."
"Mayor, I'll be on my way." Su Yu mounted the filly and waved goodbye to the village chief.
The filly let out a gentle whinny, showing no resistance to Su Yu riding her. Perhaps she recognized Tina's scent on him.
"Hold on, adventurer!" The village chief waved to stop Su Yu.
"Is there something else?"
"Of course, it's important." The village chief took out a small notebook and wrote for a while before tearing out a few pages and handing them to Su Yu.
"Take these pages to the capital of the Golden Rose Kingdom and find the princess's royal guard, Keldron. He will tell you how to gain an audience with the princess."
Chime! "Your main quest has been updated! [Glory of the Golden Rose Empire (2/100)]."
"Quest Requirement: Go to the capital of the Golden Rose Kingdom, find the princess's royal guard, Keldron, and learn how to gain an audience with the princess."
"Quest Reward: 500 Experience Points."
Su Yu took the pages from the village chief and glanced through them. They mainly described the crimes committed by the Castarion Dragon King during the attack on the beginner village.
"Alright, Chief. I'll inform the princess as soon as possible."
Su Yu bid farewell to the village chief again and rode the filly out of the village.
As he rode through the village, the filly obediently followed Su Yu's commands, turning left or right as he directed. She was very well-behaved.
The only downside was that she ran a bit too slowly, but everything else was fine.
"Maybe Tina abandoned the filly to become a 'Unicorn Knight.' I wonder what the final reward for this quest will be..." Su Yu pondered.
But Su Yu forgot that players at this stage don't have mounts yet!
Riding the filly through the village, the players on the sides of the road all turned to look at him.
"Who is that? Why is he riding a horse?"
"I heard players can only ride mounts at level 10."
"The only level 10 player on the leaderboard is Krypton. Could this be the Krypton everyone talks about?!"
"Krypton, please take me under your wing! Please help me level up!"
Recognizing Su Yu, the players gathered around him, blocking his path.
Seeing the crowd surge toward him, Su Yu realized he shouldn't have been riding the horse around.
He quickly dismounted and canceled the summon in his mount slot.
The filly disappeared, and a red horse token appeared in Su Yu's inventory.
Using this token, Su Yu could summon the filly again in the future.
By then, the players had completely surrounded him, and some female players even reached out to touch him.
Frightened, Su Yu quickly used the [Invisibility Spell] and [Blink Spell] to avoid the "grope hands."
The [Invisibility Spell] lasted for three seconds, and Su Yu managed to escape.
The players only saw Su Yu's figure gradually fade away and then vanish.
The sudden disappearance left the players looking at each other in confusion.
"Where did he go? Where did he go?"
"Did he log out?"
"Let's stay here and wait for Krypton to log back in!"
"Right, let's all stay here."
The players gathered around the spot where Su Yu used the [Invisibility Spell] and didn't disperse for a long time.
"Ah! It looks like I won't be able to ride a horse before I reach the capital."
Sighing, Su Yu approached the Duplicate Realm merchant, Jenny. After spending 20 Psychic Coins to purchase a Level 10 dungeon ticket, three portals opened up behind her. Each portal represented a different dungeon.
These three dungeons differed from the Level 5 dungeons. The Level 5 dungeons were based on wild monsters, while the three Level 10 dungeons were based on Annie's real-life experiences.
Annie, a non-player character (NPC) little girl, once led the Starforge Dragon King to hunt Su Yu and was one of the two main female characters in the beginner village.
The first dungeon was named "Annie the Match Girl."
The story tells of Annie's experience selling matches on the street at the age of five.
"Buy a match, please!"
It was a snowy night, and Annie was cold and hungry, barefoot. No one bought her matches. Her lips were blue from the cold as she struck the first match, envisioning a warm fireplace; the second match showed a fragrant roasted goose; the third match revealed a beautiful Christmas tree; and the fourth match brought her long-lost grandmother.
These were Annie's four dreams. As she was about to freeze to death, she awakened her Witch talent. Simultaneously, her dreams were filled with Nightmare creatures that threatened to plunge the entire city into eternal slumber.
Players had to enter the four dreams and eliminate the Nightmare creatures to save Annie from freezing to death and prevent the city from being overrun by the Nightmares.
The second dungeon was called "Annie and the Big Bad Wolf."
The story takes place when Annie was seven years old, adopted by a couple of wizards. One day, Annie went to the forest to deliver food to her grandmother, only to find that her grandmother had been eaten by the Big Bad Wolf. The forest's little bear, unable to stand by, helped players cut open the wolf's belly and rescued Annie's grandmother.
Annie was very grateful to the little bear. However, now Annie had become corrupted and used her magic to enslave the bear, turning it into her toy.
The third dungeon was named "The Sorrow of Amumu."
This dungeon told the story of Annie's love life. A mummy named Amumu loved Annie, but she rejected him, preferring a Yordle named Teemo instead. Amumu was devastated and began to neglect himself, losing himself in his own fantasy world.
Players had to enter Amumu's fantasy world and eliminate the monsters to prevent them from growing and consuming his mind.
Su Yu had cleared these three dungeons many times and was very familiar with their mechanisms. However, he could only choose "The Sorrow of Amumu" because the other two dungeons were impossible to solo.
In "Annie the Match Girl," players needed to simultaneously clear the third and fourth dreams and defeat two bosses. In "Annie and the Big Bad Wolf," the Big Bad Wolf's signature skill, "Hungry Wolf Gaze," was a locking skill that required five players to stand together to share the damage.
"Hungry Wolf Gaze" dealt true damage, and even with "Ice Shield," Su Yu's health couldn't withstand it. Therefore, he had to choose "The Sorrow of Amumu."
To be honest, the final boss of "The Sorrow of Amumu," "Swift Scout Teemo," had a very unique mechanism that required five players to work together to defeat. Soloing it would be extremely challenging for Su Yu.
But this was the only dungeon he had a chance to clear, so Su Yu steeled himself and stepped through the portal.
