Chapter 51: Galactic Shockwave!
Chapter 51: Galactic Shockwave!
Boom!!
Like a cannonball, Garp plunged downwards, his fist pounding Sag, who had fallen to the ground, stirring up a wave of air that billowed smoke from the impact.
The shockwave caused vibrations that violently shook the already wobbly bridge, causing the myriad cracks to shift and tiny pebbles to rain down.
Garp maintained his punching posture, a look of surprise on his face.
The smoke quickly dispersed, and his massive fist had not struck Sag's head but was blocked by his crossed arms.
Sag's arms slowly lowered, revealing a pair of sharp eyes and a snarling, toothy grin.
With one hand, Sag grabbed Garp's fist, yanked it forcefully to the side, and with a kick of his legs, he struck Garp's ribs, sending Garp's body sideways and propelling him outwards.
In that fleeting moment of being flung, Sag inhaled deeply, exhaling from both his nose and mouth, as his muscles swelled wildly, transforming into his armored state.
"100%!"
With a tiger's roar, he twisted in the air with the momentum of his kicked legs, his toes touching the ground as he somersaulted and took flight. His body spun rapidly in the air, his fists a blur as each punch carried immense force, relentlessly pursuing Garp with a rapid-fire barrage.
"Thousand-Strike Sextuple King Punch!!"
"Ora Ora Ora Ora!!!"
Boom boom boom boom!
Countless afterimages resembled whip-fast strikes, wildly unleashing upon Garp's body. Each punch felt as if it passed through Garp, and wherever the fist landed on his front, it caused a corresponding bulge on his back. Garp resembled a ragdoll being frantically pummeled, his body frenziedly trembling as he was swiftly launched skyward.
"Ora!!!"
Boom!!
On the final strike, Sag's dual fists merged, forcefully driving towards Garp's face with such impact that it sent Garp soaring high into the air, even becoming a tiny dot in the sky.
The ultimate secret technique of the Six Styles, when combined with the Sky-Splitting Alive-Killer, yielded such a powerful impact that it could also be fused with the Rupturing Fist. Through the mysteries of the Dragon Breath Turn, he could throw even more punches!
"Huff!"
Sag tapped his feet in the air, bouncing downwards, exhaling from both his nose and mouth, like a comet swiftly plunging downwards.
Now's my chance to bring down the bridge! Bogart thought as he stood on the bridge, gripping his sword's hilt. He gazed at the rapidly descending bulky figure, his body slightly bowed, poised to perform a sword-drawing strike.
"Puahahahaha!"
Just then, a boisterous laugh from Garp rang out above him.
Suddenly, as Sag plummeted downwards, he felt a foreboding sense, his scalp tingling. Instinctively, he spun around to shield himself.
That figure, which had been struck to such great heights, now fell like a meteor, its white cape billowing with the descent. The 'Justice' emblem on his back flickered in and out of view, and though his white suit was smeared with blood, the bearing of his stance conveyed an undaunted spirit, as if he had merely scraped some skin, a minor injury.
With his left hand resting on his right arm, he descended swiftly from the sky, laughing heartily. And as he raised his right fist, the very air around him seemed to distort.
Zzzt!
Within that distorted air, Sag even glimpsed shimmering black lightning.
What is that?
"You little punk, Sag! Watch and learn how a real man throws a punch! Bone-"
High in the sky, Garp laughed loudly, not even waiting for his descent before throwing a mighty punch while still in the air.
"Galactic Shockwave!"
Boom!!
In the instant the fist plummeted, a visible layer of shockwaves formed beneath the fist, an aura that rippled with countless streaks of black lightning, causing Sag's eyes to instantly roll upwards, and he spewed a mouthful of blood. It felt as if he had collided with a heavy mountain, and with a forceful downward push, he was pressed downwards.
Boom!!!
Garp's body crashed into the bridge, creating a massive hole and causing the already cracked structure to completely collapse.
With this mighty punch, the vast bridge was utterly destroyed! The two sides of the bridge crumbled like stairs, sending huge stones tumbling down and forming a staircase of rubble on either side.
Whoosh!
Just then, a group of cannonballs sped towards Bogart on the bridge and the high-flying Garp. The immense power of the cannonballs prevented Garp from catching them, and they collided with his body, sending him and his aura into the bridge ruins below with an explosive force.
"Sag!!"
A black ship suddenly surged forward like a flying vessel and rushed to the center of the crumbling bridge. Lily stood at the front of the deck, shouting loudly, and the ship's massive deck caught the falling stones and Sag, who was mixed in with them.
Bogart swiftly emerged from the explosion, his feet slightly bent as he gripped his sword hilt. "Don't even think about running!"
"Power Impact!"
Reneetia ran to the deck, extended her tool hammer, and struck one of the stones with it. The stone gained a boost of energy and rushed towards Bogart.
Szz!
However, the stones were no match for Bogart's swift sword draw, and they were instantly sliced to pieces.
How could mere stones hope to stop him?
"Hmm!"
A boulder as huge as a small mountain flew towards Bogart as he was about to sheathe his sword. A loud shout accompanied the boulder, and it slammed into Bogart's body, sending him crashing onto the bridge outside.
Marika clapped her hands, her smile unchanged. "Now's our chance."
Just as Sag had observed, her body concealed immense strength.
Lily raised her rapier and shouted, "To those who want to set sail, follow us!"
Her voice snapped the slaves back to reality. Many of them had already run to either side of the bridge during the battle, fearing the confrontation between their would-be savior and the Navy hero, Garp. They knew that against Garp, no one stood a chance.
Escape seemed impossible now.
But at this moment...
The bridge had collapsed, forming a stairway of sorts, and in the center, a ship docked there beckoned, with the vast blue sea just within reach!
The first to move was the mute hulk whose chains Sag had broken earlier. He took a step forward, leaped from the broken bridge, and jumped onto the deck, landing with a heavy thud that sent blood gushing from his face. But he paid it no mind. Half-rising, he let out a strange, wild roar toward the sky.
His roar seemed to ignite the spirits of the remaining slaves. They moved their chained feet, their ankles bleeding from the shackles, and ran to the middle of the broken bridge. One by one, they jumped.
They fell like dumplings, or perhaps...
They were like madmen breaking free from their cages, rushing towards freedom!
"To the sea!"
One slave landed on the deck, his arm bone snapping from the impact. But he ignored the pain and cried out, "Set sail! Take us to the open sea!"
