### Chapter 507: No Matter How Many Times He Splits His Soul, He Wouldn’t Be This Stupid...
Sirius Black managed to dispel the Inferi with just an enhanced Lumos Maxima, a quick-witted move that earned Ivan's admiration.
Dealing with hundreds of Inferi underwater was extremely challenging. Ivan estimated that he could only achieve this by transforming into a Basilisk, but he didn't have enough Magic for that now.
However, using Lumos Maxima was only a temporary solution. The expelled Inferi could easily return.
Moreover, the reduced range of Lumos Maxima in the Black Lake required more Magic to disperse the Inferi, meaning they couldn't use it many times.
Sirius Black, fully aware that they were not yet out of Danger, quickly pulled up the petrified Regulus and signaled Ivan to follow, swimming forward with all his might.
Ivan also dragged Kreacher, who had swallowed a lot of lake water and was still a bit disoriented, along with them.
They were already far from the island, so no one considered swimming back. They could only keep going, hoping they would reach the shore.
However, the number of Inferi along the way was overwhelming. Sirius Black and Ivan had to take turns using Lumos Maxima to keep the Inferi at bay.
The cold lake water was also sapping their energy. Ivan didn't know how long he had been swimming, but his Magic was nearly depleted, and his body was almost numb.
Staring into the darkness, Ivan began to doubt whether Sirius Black had lost his way. They might drown in the lake tonight.
Fortunately, Sirius Black's sense of direction proved to be excellent. After a while, Ivan noticed that he could see the Lake Bottom, and the rocky shore ahead came into view.
Sirius Black, leading the way, cast another enhanced Lumos Maxima, swam to the shore, and grabbed a crevice in the rock, climbing up swiftly. He then helped Ivan pull Regulus and Kreacher up.
"Quick, give me your hand!" Sirius Black, after settling Regulus and Kreacher, hurriedly reached out to pull Ivan up as well.
Suddenly, a pale, wet hand emerged from the lake, clutching Ivan's thigh and trying to drag him back into the water.
Ivan looked down to see a female corpse with a grotesque face, her mouth wide open and eyes filled with madness.
"Sectumsempra!" Ivan didn't hesitate, waving his wand.
Invisible Magic Blades sliced through her open mouth, cutting off half her body. The severed limbs and innards fell onto the Lake Surface, but no blood flowed out.
With no Inferi hindrance, Sirius Black successfully pulled Ivan ashore. He looked at Ivan's pale, bloodless face, concerned, and asked, "Are you okay, Ivan?"
"I'm fine, but we need to hurry!" Ivan shook his head and glanced at the Black Lake. In the thin mist, more and more Inferi were emerging from the water.
"Kreacher, can you Apparate all three of us at once?" Sirius Black asked.
Kreacher hesitated for a moment, then bit his lip and said he could only Apparate two people at a time.
Ivan and Sirius Black were disappointed. Unless they were willing to leave Regulus behind, a single elf like Kreacher wouldn't be enough.
Because Kreacher had made it very clear before they entered, he couldn't sense the inside of the cave, which meant they wouldn't have a second chance to teleport.
Unless they were willing to swim back through the rock crevice as they did when they came in, but the time wasted would likely mean that the Inferi had already devoured the person left behind.
"We need to find Professor Lupin and Dobby quickly!" Ivan said. The two House-Elves should have the ability to teleport all four of them away.
Although they were now on shore, they weren't at the spot where they had initially disembarked from the boat. Instead, they were on one side of the vast Black Lake, with the spreading fog blocking their connection with each other.
"We should try to make some noise to let Lupin know we've made it to shore!" Sirius Black quickly thought of a solution. He waved his wand at the Inferi that were gradually surrounding them.
"Incendio! (Incendio)"
A burst of flame shot from the tip of Sirius Black's wand, hitting one of the Inferi. However, it only ignited a small flame that quickly extinguished itself without setting the Inferi on fire.
"Have you run out of Magic, Sirius Black?" Ivan couldn't help but laugh.
"No, I used a lot of Magic to cast this spell!" Sirius Black's expression was very serious, showing no hint of joking.
Ivan's smile froze, and he tried a Fire Spell. A spell that should have created a sea of flames now only produced a faint, weak flame.
He immediately realized that Voldemort had placed restrictions on Fire Spells!
Just as Harry couldn't conjure water out of thin air in the center of the island, it seemed that flame Magic had also been limited and weakened.
Everyone knew that Inferi feared fire and light, so Voldemort certainly wouldn't have overlooked this.
While Lumos Maxima could be cast freely to provide light in the dark cave, not restricting Fire Spells, which were effective against Inferi, was hard to explain.
No matter how many times Voldemort had split his soul, he wasn't stupid enough to make such a mistake.
In the original timeline, Dumbledore could smoothly cast this spell, likely because of his superior Magic level and the power of the Elder Wand, rendering Voldemort's meticulous arrangements ineffective.
"Sectumsempra! Stupefy!" Sirius Black cast a series of spells, knocking down a large number of Inferi.
Ivan released a powerful burst of light, intending to force back the Inferi and signal his position to Lupin.
However, the situation didn't improve. Countless Inferi continued to climb out of the Black Lake onto the rocks, staggering toward them with hollow, desire-filled, and frantic gazes fixed intently on the two of them.
Ivan didn't think their Magic could handle such a vast number of Inferi.
He struggled to think of a way out of the situation and suddenly realized he had one chance to enhance a spell, which might allow him to break through the restrictions.
But such an opportunity only came once, and using it on a Fire Spell seemed too insignificant, and it wouldn't solve the problem of so many Inferi at once.
Ivan couldn't help but think of the Fiendfyre he had read about in "Advanced Dark Magic Decoded"!
A Dark Magic that used everything flammable as fuel, continuously expanding and self-replicating!
