Chapter 505: Terrakion, the Temporal Crystal Connecting Space and Time!
Chapter 505: Terrakion, the Temporal Crystal Connecting Space and Time!
Naoki spoke with a perpetual smile on his face. For some reason, some students from Pasadia Academy felt that Mr. Naoki's smile was somewhat terrifying. But try as they might, they couldn't quite put their finger on the reason why.
At that moment, Lei Huo, who was standing beside them, spoke up, "Alright, since Naoki is our guest today, I'll be taking him on a tour of our campus now."
Hearing this, the surrounding students nodded and bid Naoki farewell before dispersing.
The two continued walking through Pasadia Academy.
Lei Huo looked at the cheerful students around them and couldn't help but exclaim, "Ah, these kids are so adorable, aren't they? Speaking of which, that's one of the reasons I decided to stay here!"
Naoki gave her a skeptical look, "I thought you came here to investigate the historical legends of the Pasadia Kingdom?"
Lei Huo covered her mouth and laughed, "That's also one of the reasons! But now, the true forms of the Four Relics of Calamity have been revealed, and I don't have any other pressing matters at hand. So, for now, I plan to continue teaching here."
Naoki nodded, "That's good."
"Oh, I almost forgot!" Lei Huo suddenly exclaimed, "It seems like an ancient underwater ruin that has been passed down from long ago was recently discovered off the coast of the Unova region, and they've unearthed a lot of ancient treasures. I'm quite interested in that place, so maybe I'll go there to investigate in a while!"
Underwater ruins?
Naoki was slightly taken aback, and a line of words immediately popped into his mind—Sakaki's Stormy Plan! Ash's story had already progressed to the Sinnoh region, and at most, by next year, Team Rocket would begin their invasion of the Unova region.
At that time, Sakaki would implement the Stormy Plan, using Meloetta to obtain the Reveal Glass from the underwater ruins.
He would then use it to control the Three Cloud Gods of the Unova region, causing them to transform into their Therian forms and aid Team Rocket in conquering the Unova region.
Of course, Ash and Pikachu would ultimately put a stop to this plan.
Thinking of this, Naoki spoke up, "I wish you good luck!"
"Then I'll take your blessing!" Lei Huo smiled.
The two continued on their way, and under Lei Huo's guidance, Naoki encountered many familiar faces.
There was Math Teacher Tham, Biology Teacher Jiniya, Art Teacher Hassaku, and the academy's nurse, Mimosa, among others.
Although Naoki recognized them, they did not know him.
After Lei Huo introduced them, Naoki greeted the teachers briefly before they returned to their respective duties.
Additionally, Naoki received some news from Lei Huo.
The current principal of Pasadia Academy was Mukui, and not the familiar Cravel.
This meant that the "Great Star Operation" incident had not yet occurred, and Mukui had not resigned due to it.
If he hadn't resigned, Cravel wouldn't have taken office yet.
As for Nimo, Mudan, Paipa, Qing/Haru, at this point in time, only Paipa had enrolled in Pasadia Academy.
The rest might not enroll for a few more years.
And then, it would be time for the Zhuzi main storyline to explode.
The sudden deaths of Dr. Aulin and Dr. Fotu, the collapse of the Pasadia Giant Pit defense line, and the influx of violent Paradox Pokemon breaching the defenses and entering the Pasadia region.
However, Naoki had once tried to change the fate of the two doctors.
If he failed, then everything would proceed according to destiny, and Paipa would lose her parents...
But if he succeeded, what kind of situation would they find themselves in?
At this point in the future, Naoki couldn't quite see clearly.
All he could do was live his own life and wait patiently.
Speaking of Paipa... Naoki suddenly realized that he hadn't seen Paipa in a long time.
He specifically asked Lei Huo to use her teacher privileges to help find Paipa.
By now, Paipa had grown quite a bit since their first meeting and seemed more mature.
When Naoki approached, Paipa was sitting alone on a bench in the playground, reading a book, with Houndoom quietly by his side.
Lei Huo was a little surprised, "You know that child?"
Naoki nodded and walked forward with Golleton, greeting Paipa, "Long time no see, Paipa!"
Hearing the voice, Paipa looked up, his face showing a surprised expression, as if he hadn't expected to see Naoki in the academy.
"Mr. Naoki?!?"
Naoki nodded slightly, "Yes, it's me. It's been a while since you last visited the ranch."
Paipa seemed flustered by the attention and stammered, "I... after I started school, I suddenly had a lot of things to do, so... I didn't have time to visit you, Mr. Naoki."
Having grown up without his parents around and rarely experiencing the care of others, Paipa was touched by Naoki's words. He opened his mouth and nodded, "Okay, I'll be there after I finish this course."
Naoki smiled and nodded in response, "That's more like it! Don't be shy, after all, I've watched you grow up!"
Naoki gestured with his hand to indicate a height, "The first time I saw you, you were only this tall, and now look how much you've grown!"
Paipa felt his eyes stinging with tears.
Naoki patted his shoulder, "Alright, I won't disturb you anymore. Study hard!"
"Okay!"
Naoki turned to leave with Golleton.
Without needing to ask, he knew that Dr. Olin and Dr. Fortu had likely neglected Paipa again due to their research obsession.
Sigh!
With the Zhuzi main storyline about to kick off in less than six years, who knew what twists and turns the plot would take.
At noon, Naoki accepted Lei Huo's invitation to join the students for lunch in the Pasadia Academy cafeteria.
Although the food couldn't compare to his own cooking, the atmosphere of everyone enjoying lunch together with their Pokemon was precious.
After lunch, Naoki returned to the ranch and took out his Rotom Phone to contact Dr. Olin, who was at the Zero Zone Research Institute far away.
Soon, the call connected, and Dr. Olin's sharp-featured face appeared on the screen.
"Oh? It's Naoki. What's the matter?" Dr. Olin asked.
"Nothing much, just wondering if your research has been keeping you busy lately?" Naoki asked casually.
"Yes, it has been a bit hectic," Dr. Olin, being an intelligent woman, immediately understood the implication behind Naoki's words.
She raised an eyebrow and prompted, "Go on."
"Ahem." Naoki explained, "I visited Pasadia Academy today and saw Paipa there. He seemed rather lonely and didn't appear to have many friends. It was only when I invited him to come to play at the ranch that a smile finally appeared on his face."
"......" Dr. Olin thought about her own busy schedule and felt a headache coming on. "I'm afraid we have been neglecting him. Regardless, I want to thank you and Fortu sincerely for looking after him."
Naoki: "......"
Dr. Olin's words left him at a loss for what to say.
He couldn't very well ask her to stop her research and spend more time with Paipa, as that wasn't in her nature.
After thinking it over, Naoki could only sigh helplessly.
Perhaps Dr. Olin felt that Paipa had grown up and matured, so she was more at ease leaving him at the school?
Just then, Dr. Olin heard Dr. Fortu calling out to her from behind.
"Olin, come quickly! We've made a new discovery!"
Hearing this, Dr. Olin's eyes lit up with excitement.
"Naoki, I have something urgent to attend to. We can talk more later! If possible, please continue to take care of Paipa for me and Fortu!"
With that, Dr. Olin ended the call.
Naoki stared at the blackened phone screen, at a loss for words.
Meanwhile, at the bottom level of the Zero Zone Research Institute, located within the Pasadia Giant Pit...
Dr. Olin and Dr. Fortu rode an elevator down to this magnificent and mysterious place, which they had named the "Zero-Ultima Cave."
"The instruments just detected an abnormal reaction from the Secret Treasure!" Dr. Fortu reported calmly.
Upon hearing this, Dr. Olin looked intently and spotted a Pokemon shaped like a gem beneath a tree made of Ultimatite.
It was the ancient Pokemon, Terrakion, that had been sleeping underground for eons.
For reasons unknown, its body was extremely weak, and it had remained dormant since time immemorial.
"Is Terrakion about to awaken?" Dr. Olin murmured softly.
She couldn't help but step forward, but before she could get close, the surrounding Ultimatite rocks suddenly erupted with a dazzling beam of light.
The beam shot upwards, instantly engulfing Dr. Olin's figure.
Dr. Fortu, who was standing behind her, was too late to react as he watched his wife disappear within the radiant light.
The sudden commotion startled Dr. Olin.
Terrakion and her husband had vanished, and a mist had risen around them, filling the air with a strong sulfurous scent.
She calmly looked around, and as the mist gradually dissipated, the surroundings became clearer.
Dr. Olin looked down at the ground beneath her feet. Her current position seemed to be at a great height, with the sky above her head. It was evident that she was no longer in the Zero-Ultima Cave.
The time machine at the Zero Zone Research Institute, which she and Fortu had created, borrowed the power of Ultimatite energy.
Once one moved away from the Pasadia Giant Pit, the time machine would no longer function properly.
Just then, a surprised exclamation came from behind her.
"Dr. Olin?!"
Dr. Olin turned to see two girls standing at a distance.
One of the girls had a Soloform by her side.
The sight of the Pokemon surprised Dr. Olin.
"Who are you...? Have we met somewhere before? Unfortunately, I don't seem to have any memory of it."
She looked down at the Soloform and continued, "My name is Olin, and I research Pokemon at the Zero Zone."
However, the next second, a beam of white light flashed from the other girl.
Along with a silly-sounding "Agga Gasy," a dopey Golleton appeared by the girl's side.
"!!!" Dr. Olin was stunned.
She stared at the Pokemon in disbelief. "This Golleton..."
"Agga Ao~"
Golleton looked at Dr. Olin, its expression conveying a sense of familiarity.
The girl with Golleton looked a little sad, and the other girl wore a similar expression.
Dr. Olin studied their gazes and quickly understood.
"To you, I'm someone from the past, right?"
"Yes." Dr. Olin pondered, "But time holds countless possibilities. Perhaps this encounter isn't a connected past and future. Perhaps this encounter is just a fleeting miracle."
"Doctor..." One of the girls murmured.
But Dr. Olin smiled and invited them, "Then let's make good use of this time and exchange information meaningfully! Is there anything you'd like to ask me?"
Hearing this, the two girls glanced at each other, and one of them asked, "Doctor, how did you end up here?"
Dr. Olin shook her head. "I'm not sure of the specifics, but I know I was working on some research, and then I suddenly appeared here. Could it be due to the influence of the crystal Pokemon sleeping in that place?"
"Doctor, what about your family?" The other girl asked.
"Hmm? Are you interested in my personal life?" Dr. Olin was surprised. "I have a child! But he should be at home now, or rather, that statement is incorrect now, isn't it?"
Recalling the phone call Naoki had made earlier, Dr. Olin felt a little sad. "He must be feeling lonely, right?"
But now wasn't the time to dwell on such sentimental issues.
Dr. Olin shook her head and asked seriously, "Then let's switch it up. Let me ask the questions! Where exactly is this place? It doesn't seem to be Pasadia."
"This is the Crystal Light Pool in Beijingshang Village," the girl with Golleton replied.
"The Crystal Light Pool in Beijingshang Village? I seem to have seen this place in some literature. It's a place where the spring water is infused with Ultimatite energy, and even the coordinates seem far from where I was," Dr. Olin mused.
As she spoke, Dr. Olin noticed the white book one of the girls was holding.
"Hmm? What's that book? I've never seen a design like this before! The title is 'The Secret Treasure of Zero'—may I take a look?"
"Of course!"
The girl handed over the book.
Dr. Olin reached out and took it, then looked down to read it carefully.
"It mentions the Great Cavity and even the awakening of Soloform?! Who is this author, Blair White? She must be someone extraordinary!"
"She's a teacher!" the girl replied.
Hearing this, Dr. Olin grew even more curious. "Hmm? She's a teacher? Aside from me, only those guys from the League should be able to enter that place!"
"No!" The girl with Golleton shook her head. "Teacher Blair White never went inside. She wrote this book after visiting a very powerful Trainer! It was that Trainer who stopped the Paradox Pokemon rampage and saved the Pasadia region!"
"Hmm?" Dr. Olin inquired, intrigued. "Who is this powerful Trainer?"
As the girl with Soloform opened her mouth to reply, the Ultimatite energy floating in the air suddenly flashed violently.
Dr. Olin immediately noticed this.
The girl's answer rang out: "He's my father!"
However, Dr. Olin had already vanished from her original spot.
