Chapter 504: Resurrection of Uru (Second Update)
Chapter 504: Resurrection of Uru (Second Update)
"Healing magic, that's a lost magic just like time magic, belonging to the ancient magic category. As far as I know, there's only one mage who can use it, the 'sky maiden,' but it's not certain if it's true."
This was Lucy's heartfelt complaint to Jerry.
"Erza, I think Lucy has a point. We can't just stand by and watch these villagers get killed!"
After reviving Gray, Jerry's eyes darted around, and he began to support Lucy's argument.
He knew that while Erza sometimes valued rules, she wasn't completely inflexible, especially when it came to matters of life and death.
Sure enough, after a moment's hesitation, Erza waved her magic sword and quickly cut through all the ropes:
"Fine, let's complete the mission first, but you won't escape punishment when we return!"
Natsu and the others, who were about to cheer, immediately wilted at the mention of "punishment."
"Look out, there's a huge rat in the sky!"
A young demon with a single horn pulled back the curtain, his face filled with terror as he pointed outside.
"It really is a rat."
Jerry and the others stepped out of the room and looked up. A giant rat was holding a large iron bucket and using its long tail to spin rapidly, flying in the sky like a helicopter.
On the giant rat's back stood three mages with considerable magic power.
"Hehehe, you ugly demons and mages who dare to interfere with the Zero Emperor's plans, you will all die!"
With a hearty laugh from the red-haired bimbo on top, the giant rat flung the iron bucket, sending a torrent of green liquid raining down on the village below.
"What is that stuff, jam?"
Lucy noticed that the green liquid looked very much like jam.
"I doubt it's that simple!"
The tone of the person above didn't sound like they were inviting them to a jam party.
Jerry waved his hand, and a massive portal opened in the air, catching all the green liquid and pulling it in.
Then, a similar portal opened over the forest not far from the village, and the green liquid fell there instead.
"Hisssss~"
Everything the liquid touched, whether it was trees or soil, was instantly corroded away.
In the blink of an eye, a large crater appeared in the once-thick forest near the village.
This scene frightened the villagers so much that their legs turned to jelly.
If the green liquid had really fallen, the entire village, along with its inhabitants, would have been completely eroded by the highly corrosive substance.
Seeing that the corrosive jam had no effect, the three mages and the giant rat landed in the village square.
"We didn't expect you to have a mage skilled in spatial magic, but it's useless. Anyone who stands in the way of the Zero Emperor's plans must die!"
The red-haired bimbo mage ran her fingers through her hair, her tone full of confidence.
The short blue-haired mage beside her crossed his arms and added indifferently:
"Fifty villagers, five mages, twenty minutes should be enough!"
"We are well-known mages who once belonged to the Lamia Scale Mage Guild, Wangwang!"
The last mage, with a dog-like face, bared his sharp claws.
In this world, intelligent races weren't limited to humans; there were many other diverse species, though humans were the majority.
The dog-faced mage on the opposite side was clearly not a human mage.
"Your arrogance will be your downfall. Here's a little tune to send you off!"
Seeing the confident trio, Jerry shrugged and took a step back, allowing Erza to step forward.
The three mages and the giant rat had decent magic power, but they were only slightly stronger than Lucy. They fell far short of Natsu and Gray, let alone Erza, who was an S-Class mage.
Erza didn't even bother to use her Knight Armor. She drew a magic sword and, in a flash, charged toward the three mages and the giant rat.
"Swish! Swish! Swish! Swish!"
Four lightning-fast strikes, and the three mages and the giant rat fell to the ground, their eyes wide with disbelief.
Erza in her prime was truly terrifying!
To be honest, even Jerry, with his vast power, wasn't entirely confident he could match Erza in close combat.
Even if he increased his size and strength, and enhanced his fighting abilities, Erza's speed and offensive power would still allow her to breach his defenses, much like when she and her team fought the cursed demon.
This was one of the reasons Jerry was interested in the Knight Armor magic. If those armors could be created, they would not only look impressive but also significantly boost his close combat capabilities.
Of course, this was limited to close combat.
If Jerry used his full strength, even without large-scale area-of-effect magic, he could simply teleport away, creating distance, and release various spells, leaving Erza helpless.
Moreover, if he used true time magic to freeze time around Erza, he could easily achieve an instant kill.
Although his magic power was only slightly stronger than Makarov, one of the Ten Wizard Saints, he had a vast array of magic at his disposal. Even against Makarov, he felt he had a 90% chance of winning.
The reason it wasn't 100% was because he had heard from the guild's elders that Makarov's most powerful magic wasn't his Giant Magic, but a super powerful light-based magic called Fairy Law.
Its power was extremely terrifying.
Since he had never seen this magic in action, there was that 10% uncertainty.
"Jerry, let's go to the temple. The sooner we complete the mission, the sooner we can return!"
Erza, without a second glance at the fallen trio and the rat, spoke to Jerry.
Jerry nodded and waved his hand, opening a portal to the central temple on the island.
Having just heard the story of Gray and his master from Lucy, Jerry had a good idea. Now was the perfect time to experiment.
If everything went as planned, he might be able to resurrect that ice mage with the strength of a Wizard Saint.
He didn't expect any personal favors for saving a life, but using his magic in exchange was fair enough.
He instructed the villagers to tie up the three mages and the giant rat, and to wait for them to deal with the temple mages before returning. Natsu and the others stepped through the portal Jerry opened and instantly appeared on the top floor of the temple.
At that moment, Gray's senior, Leo, was leading a group of subordinates in a Moon Drop magic ritual. A massive magic array rose above the temple, drawing the moon's power and condensing it into a purple liquid that dripped onto the frozen demon Deliora below.
A ring of fire suddenly appeared on the temple's top floor, and Jerry, Erza, and the others emerged one by one.
