Chapter 503: The Five-Zang Treasure Stock, Ink-Bone Tree
Chapter 503: The Five-Zang Treasure Stock, Ink-Bone Tree
Upon returning to his room, Lu Chen ensured no one was around before retrieving a small pile of Wuling soil from his Gluttonous Insect Pouch.
There was no spiritual soil in the Treasure Pavilion, so to plant the spiritual seeds he had acquired, he would need to leave. Fortunately, Lu Chen always carried some spiritual soil with him, which he could use to cultivate the seeds and obtain more information about them.
He shaped the dark yellow spiritual soil into a small mound and took out the seed that resembled internal organs. Planting it, he focused his attention on the seed.
Suddenly, a thought emerged in his mind.
Five-Zang Treasure Stock, a fifth-grade spiritual herb. During its growth, it requires fresh internal organs as sacrificial offerings to provide nourishment. Once mature, it can greatly enhance a cultivator's physical body and qi-blood, making it an excellent material for cultivating body-refining demonic techniques.
Surrender your five zang organs and gain a powerful physical shell!
"A fifth-grade spiritual herb that requires sacrificial offerings of internal organs. Its growth method certainly matches the eerie appearance of the seed," Lu Chen mused as he gained this information. He then retrieved the seed, intending to plant it back in his small courtyard in the underworld.
"The sinister spiritual herbs in my underworld courtyard are all of exceptional quality. The lowest grade is the third-grade Thousand Coiling Hands, and there's only one of that variety."
"The fifth-grade sinister spiritual herbs, on the other hand, are the most numerous."
He marveled at this as he placed the seed and the spiritual soil back into his pouch.
For the next two days, Lu Chen arrived punctually at the lower levels of the Treasure Pavilion, hoping to continue finding hidden treasures among the unknown spiritual seeds.
However, the number of spiritual seeds was meager, and his luck had been average for several days, as he hadn't come across any desirable treasures.
On this day, he removed the Thousand Soul Mask that covered his face, revealing his true appearance, and used a communication talisman to contact Ge Pu.
"Brother Ge, how have your past few days been? Have you found any opportunities to break through to the Golden Core stage?" Lu Chen asked as he entered Ge Pu's room.
There were many guest rooms in the Treasure Pavilion, and they were all interconnected with complex mechanisms. Therefore, without permission, it was challenging to know the location of another person's living quarters.
"It's been decent. I acquired two fairly good magical artifacts and received several pills with strong purifying abilities," Ge Pu replied nonchalantly.
"Unfortunately, I still haven't come across any pills or heavenly treasures that can increase the probability of breaking through to the Golden Core stage."
Lu Chen hesitated for a moment, then decided to share the information he had obtained. "Brother Ge, I have a bit of gossip that may or may not be reliable. It's supposedly related to a treasure that can increase the chances of breaking through to the Golden Core stage."
"Oh? Please tell me, Brother Lu," Ge Pu said, his interest piqued as his black and white heterochromatic eyes shone with black and white spiritual light.
"I heard that a Saint Infant Pill might appear in the middle region in the next few days. Although its refining process is slightly detrimental to heavenly harmony, it can slightly increase the probability of advancing to the Golden Core stage," Lu Chen explained.
"The Saint Infant Pill... I've heard of it. It can indeed aid in breaking through to the Golden Core realm, but Brother Lu, how reliable is your source for this information?" Ge Pu inquired, his expression turning solemn.
"A few days ago, I had a significant transaction with a cultivator from the Fusion Sect in the upper levels. She was the one who told me about it," Lu Chen half-truthfully replied.
"The Fusion Sect is one of the major forces jointly hosting the Heavenly Abyss Treasure Expo, so the information should be quite reliable," he added, skillfully mixing truth and fiction.
"A transaction with a female cultivator from the Fusion Sect?" Ge Pu's face broke into a smile that held an ambiguous meaning, as if he had misunderstood the nature of Lu Chen's transaction.
"The taste of the female cultivators from the Fusion Sect is indeed quite exquisite," he said suggestively before changing the subject.
"I hope you succeed, Brother Ge," Lu Chen said with a smile.
Since the Saint Infant Pill originated from the light group and was refined using unorthodox methods, Lu Chen couldn't directly exchange it with Ge Pu.
Passing on the information about the pill's sale was the extent of his help, allowing Ge Pu to prepare in advance, and whether he could obtain it or not would depend on his own fortune.
The two chatted for a while longer before Lu Chen bid his farewell.
"When dealing with that skinny old man, it might be a good idea to have Brother Ge as backup in case of any unforeseen circumstances."
"Brother Ge is a true disciple of the Celestial Sword Sect, and he's been halfway to the Golden Core realm for quite some time. He shouldn't have any problems dealing with that person."
Upon returning to his room, Lu Chen thought to himself.
The next day, instead of lingering in the lower levels of the Treasure Pavilion, Lu Chen opted for the middle levels.
The lower levels often featured odd trinkets, many of which even the stall owners knew little about their origins and functions, leaving room for valuable discoveries.
However, the middle levels were different, as the treasures displayed there were clearly labeled and less complex than those below.
He carefully examined the items on display.
Skimming past the artifacts, cultivation techniques, and talismans.
While these items were of decent quality, they paled in comparison to the treasures he had obtained from the light group, failing to spark Lu Chen's interest.
"The only reason I'm here is for three things: to buy spirit seeds, buy spirit seeds, and buy more spirit seeds!"
Lu Chen chuckled to himself, keeping a keen eye out for any spirit seeds that caught his attention.
The middle levels boasted a significantly larger collection of spirit seeds than the lower levels. After all, in the cultivation world, unidentified spirit seeds were rare, and most of those presented were familiar varieties.
However, the spirit seeds he came across were mostly of lower grades and rarity than those in the Agricultural God's Hall, not to mention his own spirit fields.
This left Lu Chen feeling rather unenthusiastic, wandering aimlessly.
"Hmm? I don't think I've seen this spirit seed before."
Suddenly, he paused, his attention drawn to a stall in the left front.
Approaching the stall, Lu Chen discovered a deep green spirit seed, emanating a lustrous light that demanded attention.
"Fellow cultivator, what kind of spirit plant is this? Please excuse my ignorance, but I've never come across any information about this type of spirit plant," Lu Chen inquired of the stall owner. With his expertise in spirit plants, there weren't many that he hadn't encountered.
"You have a good eye, my friend. This Ink-Bone Tree is extremely rare in this domain and originates from another realm," the stall owner, a kind-faced cultivator, replied with a warm smile upon seeing Lu Chen's interest.
"It's a fourth-grade spirit plant, and occasionally a fifth-grade variety appears. Once cultivated to maturity, it can be refined and fused with one's skeletal structure, granting it hardness and resilience akin to a fourth-grade artifact."
"The Ink-Bone Tree is from another realm?" Lu Chen's curiosity was piqued. He wondered what kind of reward the light group would offer for an extrareal spirit plant.
"How many spirit stones are you asking for this Ink-Bone Tree spirit seed?" he asked the stall owner.
"Seeing your kind face, fellow cultivator, I assume you share my passion for cultivating spirit plants. How about 2,400 spirit stones? Will you take it?" the stall owner offered with a smile.
