A moment later, in one of the village's rooms, Lucy and Happy were joined by two more companions, similarly tied up like mummies.
"Alright, Jerry, let's head back to the guild!"
Erza held the rope that connected Lucy, Happy, Natsu, and the unconscious Gray.
The three rule-breakers and the cat had all been apprehended. Now, all Jerry needed to do was open a portal to send them back.
However, before Jerry could open the portal, Lucy and Natsu loudly objected:
"No way, Erza, Jerry! We can't leave now, or these villagers who have been turned into demons will all be killed!"
Lucy, Natsu, and Happy then began to explain everything that had happened since they arrived on the Cursed Island.
It turned out that three years ago, the moon over the island suddenly turned purple. Soon after, the villagers began to be cursed, transforming into demons whenever the moon appeared.
The village chief had spent a fortune to commission the strongest magic guild, Fairy Tail, to destroy the purple moon and lift the curse.

The Disaster Demon Dailora, one of the powerful demons created by the dark wizard Zeref, had single-handedly destroyed multiple cities. Gray's parents were among those killed by Dailora.
Ur, who had taken Gray in, was a master ice mage with the strength of a Saint Ten. She was also Gray's master.
Ten years ago, the overconfident Gray sought revenge against Dailora and failed. Ur fought Dailora to save Gray. Unable to defeat the demon, she resorted to using the strongest Magic, Absolute Zero, to turn her body into eternal ice, sealing Dailora.
To stop the group of mysterious mages, Natsu and Gray engaged them in battle. During the fight, they discovered that the leader of the mages, the Zero Emperor, was actually Gray's senior, Leo.
Leo's goal was to resurrect Dailora and personally kill the demon to prove his strength surpassed that of his master, Ur.
