Chapter 502: The Angry Evolution of Aipom, Happiny's Treasure!
Chapter 502: The Angry Evolution of Aipom, Happiny's Treasure!
According to the map location provided by Lei He, the ancient sword leopard was sealed in the Frozen Rift Shrine, located in the foothills of the western region of Padia.
This time, Naoki once again employed the strategy he had used in the previous three attempts, utilizing the constant power and food to hire local Pokemon gangs to help him search for the Frozen Rift Shrine and the eight sealing pillars.
Geodude, Phanpy, Mudbray, Torchic, Sleuthizard, and Sumwrestler...
Enticed by the delicious food, this group of wild Pokemon happily agreed to the task.
They turned and scattered in different directions, beginning their search for what the human sought in the mountains.
"As expected, the variety of Pokemon inhabiting the mountains is quite different from those on the grasslands!" Naoki murmured as he watched the retreating figures of the Pokemon.
Pokemon like Geodude and Torchic were rarely seen in Zitchin Town.
Among them, Naoki even spotted Pokemon like Rockruff and Yungoos.
Rockruff, a Pokemon from the Alola region, had three distinct evolution forms: day, dusk, and night.
In the anime, Satoshi had a very cool Dusk Lycanroc.
And that Yungoos, when fully evolved into a Double Axe Dragon, was also exceptionally strong.
Taking advantage of the time the Pokemon were investigating the Frozen Rift Shrine and the sealing pillars, Naoki began to survey the types of Pokemon inhabiting the nearby area.
If his memory served him right, rare and precious Pokemon like Leafeon, Yukira, Happiny, and Rotom should be found in this area in the game.
Yukira's evolution, Bangjira, Happiny's evolution, a Blood-Winged Dragon, and Rotom's evolution into a Fierce Bite Shark were all incredibly powerful quasi-divine Pokemon.
Naoki began to leisurely stroll through the mountains with Golett.
As they weaved through the mountain paths, they could see a forest nestled in the valley below.
There, Naoki spotted a group of Pokemon with light yellow fur, brown extremities, and a pink pig-like nose on their faces.
They were Aipom!
The group of Aipom used their agile hands and tails to hang from the tree branches, chattering away noisily, seemingly in a heated discussion.
"So many Aipom!"
"Agas?" Golett turned to glance at the group of Aipom.
"Shh!" Naoki immediately signaled for quiet. "Keep your voice down, we don't want to disturb that group of Aipom."
As far as he knew, Aipom were temperamental Pokemon that got angry easily, and once they flew into a rage, it was difficult to stop their rampage.
More importantly, if one Aipom got angry, the others would follow suit, so there was never a quiet moment in a group of Aipom.
"Agas!" Golett confidently asserted that it could defeat all of those Aipom.
Naoki patted its head gently. "I know, but it's better to avoid trouble. Besides, what if a few of them gang up on you while you're busy fighting the others and attack me? Let's not go looking for trouble."
However, Golett seemed quite proud and confident, its face wearing an arrogant expression.
"Agas!"
The Golett before him was no longer the weak Motostoke now. No matter how many Aipom there were, it was confident it could take them all on!
Naoki: "..."
"Alright, alright, let's go. They haven't bothered us." With that, Naoki pushed Golett away from the area.
"Agas..." Golett reluctantly agreed.
As they ventured further, they approached what seemed to be the territory of a Stone Bird.
From a distance, Naoki spotted a bird Pokemon dropping stones from the sky.
The Stone Bird, seemingly amused, dropped large boulders that rolled down the mountain path.
Soon after, Naoki saw one of the boulders roll into the forest where the Aipom were dwelling.
Upon witnessing this, the group of Aipom instantly flew into a rage.
They howled and beat their chests with their fists before charging en masse towards the Stone Bird's territory.
A wild Pokemon territorial dispute was about to unfold!
Naoki quickly mounted Golett and retreated to a safe distance.
He watched as the Aipom stormed into the Stone Bird's territory, but the Stone Bird remained in the air, out of their reach.
Frustrated, the Aipom stomped their feet angrily and started picking up small stones from the ground, throwing them at the Stone Bird in the sky.
Naoki: "..."
Just then, one of the Aipom, unable to find any more stones nearby, paused and looked around.
Soon, its gaze fixed on a particular direction.
Naoki followed the Aipom's line of sight and spotted a pink Pokemon with a lower body that resembled pants walking towards them from a short distance away.
It was... a Happiny?! Naoki was slightly taken aback.
Oblivious to the commotion ahead, the Happiny continued on its way until an Aipom rushed forward, snatched the egg-like round stone from its abdomen, and sprinted back towards the Stone Bird.
With all its might, the Aipom threw the stone upward, aiming for the Stone Bird.
In the next second, it was grabbed by the enraged Aipom and thrown towards the Stone Bird.
"Chik!"
Little Lucky Egg cried out in surprise, and as the situation turned dire, Naoki immediately ordered, "Golurk!"
"Agas!"
Golurk instantly understood and spread its wings, diving forward to catch the falling Little Lucky Egg just in time.
Little Lucky Egg, still shaken, opened its eyes and saw a human and a strange Pokemon had come to its rescue.
"Chik?"
"It's alright," Naoki reassured the little Pokemon.
Judging by its appearance, it didn't seem to have a trainer with it, which meant that this Little Lucky Egg was wild!
Little Lucky Egg, a 'Houseplay' Pokemon, would evolve into Happiny and then Chansey.
In Pokemon Centers and hospitals, these two Pokemon were Miss Joy and the doctors' best partners and assistants!
With this in mind, Naoki's first reaction was that he finally had a candidate for a doctor at the Pokemon hospital on the World Tree.
"Let's go down first," Naoki said, glancing at the situation below.
The fight between the Aipom and the Stone Bird was not over yet, and Golurk slowly descended onto another mountain peak.
As soon as they landed, Little Lucky Egg jumped out of Naoki's arms and anxiously looked towards the direction of the battling Pokemon.
"Chik!"
Little Lucky Egg turned to look at Naoki and Golurk, who had saved it, then at the opposing side, and then it actually ran off.
Naoki hurriedly called out, "Little Lucky Egg!"
"Chik!" came the distant reply from Little Lucky Egg, but it didn't turn back.
Naoki was left bewildered.
Why would it rush back into danger right after escaping?
Fortunately, at this critical moment, the dispute between the Aipom and the Stone Bird came to an end.
The Aipom, having exhausted itself with its futile attacks, was unable to harm the Stone Bird hovering above, and it actually passed out from anger.
And it wasn't just one Aipom!
The rest of the Aipom seemed to regain their senses as well. They glared angrily at the Stone Bird, and then, a few of them burst into a white light.
Those few Aipom were so enraged that they forcibly evolved into Primeape!
The veins on the Primeape's foreheads throbbed with anger, but as they couldn't fly, they could only carry their unconscious companion back to their own territory.
Little Lucky Egg ran to the spot where the Aipom had just thrown a tantrum and began searching anxiously for something.
Seeing this, Naoki quickly understood what Little Lucky Egg was looking for!
It was searching for the round stone that had been snatched away by the Aipom!
Little Lucky Egg loved round, white objects, and if something like that was taken from them, they would cry and throw a fit.
This was because they were still young and couldn't lay eggs like Chansey yet.
So, they could only imitate Chansey by finding white, round stones to use as substitutes.
It was said that Pokemon scholars had once observed that wild Little Lucky Eggs would place egg-like round stones in the pouches on their bellies, cherishing them dearly. Sometimes, they would even put in too many and become unable to move.
This was truly...
Naoki was at a loss for words at this moment.
He brought Golurk along as they followed Little Lucky Egg. Unable to find the stone, Little Lucky Egg plopped down on the ground and burst into tears.
"Agas..." Golurk was getting a headache from the wailing.
Naoki looked around and noticed that on both sides of the mountain path were intricate valleys and cliffs. The stone that had been taken by the Aipom earlier was very likely to have fallen into the valley below.
Seeing Little Lucky Egg still crying, Naoki quickly took out an energy block to distract it.
"Alright, alright, don't cry. That stone probably fell into the valley below. I'll have Golurk take you down there to look for it."
As expected, Little Lucky Egg stopped crying and looked up at the human with tearful eyes.
"Chik?"
Naoki nodded, "I promise."
Little Lucky Egg's eyes lit up. "Chik!"
Naoki checked the time on his Rotom Phone and, seeing that it was still early, flew down the mountain with Golurk, bringing Little Lucky Egg along.
As soon as Golurk landed, Little Lucky Egg eagerly began searching its surroundings.
Naoki and Golurk also helped with the search.
However, after a long while, they still couldn't find a round stone anywhere.
"Chik..."
Little Lucky Egg realized that it might never find its precious stone again, and its whole body seemed to deflate in disappointment.
It looked just like a middle-aged man who had just been laid off from his company.
Naoki and Golurk shared a glance, and Naoki comforted, "Don't worry, if we look carefully, we might still be able to find it."
However, Little Lucky Egg had given up. It turned away dejectedly and began walking towards the distance.
No matter how much Naoki called out to it, Little Lucky Egg didn't respond, as if it had lost its soul.
Hearing this, Naoki glanced regretfully at the departing Little Lucky Egg, but he had more pressing matters to attend to.
He followed Stufful to the location and proceeded to remove the pillar.
Meanwhile, Little Lucky Egg had wandered to a peculiar spot.
It appeared to be a large door, chained shut with four locks.
Little Lucky Egg looked up at the door, then climbed up the cliff and sat there, staring blankly into space.
Perhaps it was because the local Pokemon were more familiar with this mountain range.
In just two hours, Naoki had followed them to pull out five pillars and located the exact position of the Frozen Rift Shrine, where the Ancient Sword Leopard was sealed.
With the sun high in the sky, Naoki decided to take a break and have some lunch.
However, just then, three more Pokemon rushed over.
They were a Vullaby, a Mudbray, and a Torchic.
"Did you guys find the pillars too?" Naoki asked.
The three Pokemon nodded vigorously, excitedly indicating that they had each found one!
Hearing this, Naoki was surprised. Had they found them so quickly?
He wanted to rush over and pull out the pillars to capture the Ancient Sword Leopard, but hearing the growls of their hungry stomachs, he changed his mind.
After all, they had worked for him all morning, and it wouldn't do to not offer them a proper lunch.
With that in mind, Naoki took off his dimensional backpack, retrieved some energy blocks and Pokeblocks, and shared them with the adorable group of Pokemon before him.
Vullaby, Torchic, Stufful, and the others eagerly looked at the delicious-smelling Pokeblocks.
In that moment, a thought crossed their minds—all their hard work that morning had been worth it!
Vullaby picked up a Pokeblock with her small claws and began to nibble on it delicately.
Mmm, so delicious! Vullaby quickened her pace, savoring the tasty treat.
Naoki also took out two sandwiches, handing one to Golurk and keeping one for himself.
He smiled as he watched the Pokemon before him devour the energy blocks. Suddenly, he felt a pang of sympathy for wild Pokemon. If they didn't encounter a trainer, they might never get to taste such delicious food in their lifetimes.
Perhaps this was why his Pokeblocks could attract so many Druddigon to work on his ranch.
After lunch, Naoki followed a few of the Pokemon to pull out the last three pillars.
As the final pillar was extracted, he immediately mounted Golurk and flew toward the Frozen Rift Shrine.
When they arrived, the Ancient Sword Leopard had just leaped out of the shrine, stretching its body on the ground.
The surrounding temperature began to drop rapidly, and snowflakes started to fall from the sky.
The Ancient Sword Leopard fixed its icy blue eyes on the human before it.
The next second, a terrifying ice-attribute energy surged within its body, transforming into a massive avalanche that rushed toward Naoki.
"Golurk, use Flamethrower!"
"Agas!"
Scorching flames erupted, forming a fiery dragon that clashed with the Ancient Sword Leopard's avalanche.
"Sssss!"
In an instant, large amounts of snow were melted.
Seeing this, Naoki immediately gave the command to pursue: "Use Close Combat!"
A gleam flashed in Golurk's golden eyes.
Its powerful leg muscles tensed, and it leaped high into the air.
Under the Ancient Sword Leopard's gaze, an incredibly fierce aura erupted from Golurk's body.
The next second, its massive form collided with the Ancient Sword Leopard, triggering a powerful ancient explosion.
The quad-weakened Ancient Sword Leopard immediately lost its ability to battle!
Naoki quickly pulled out a round Poke Ball from his pocket.
Now, it was time to capture the final calamity Pokemon!
The falling snowflakes suddenly ceased, and the dazzling sunlight shone on the round Poke Ball in Naoki's hand.
Sitting on the cliff, Little Lucky Egg's gaze was instantly drawn to the sparkling ball.
Its eyes lit up as it recognized the object in the human's hand.
Just then, Little Lucky Egg saw the human toss the round object into the air.
In that moment, Little Lucky Egg had only one thought—it wanted that round thing!
The next second, Little Lucky Egg stood up on the cliff and leaped forward, pouncing off the edge.
Naoki, on the ground below, saw a dark shadow jump down from above, colliding directly with the Poke Ball he had thrown.
Immediately, the Poke Ball automatically opened, sucking in the figure that resembled Little Lucky Egg.
"Bonk, bonk!"
The Poke Ball fell onto the grassy ground and began to shake gently.
Once, twice...
As the flashing red light on the button faded, the Poke Ball also stopped shaking.
This indicated that the capture was successful!
Naoki: ?
