Chapter 502: Let's Play a Little
Chapter 502: Let's Play a Little
"Kuro!"
Hearing Kuro's words, Lida turned sharply toward him, her eyes locking onto his with an intensity that made him visibly uncomfortable.
"I was just saying."
Avoiding Lida's piercing gaze, Kuro addressed the female warriors: "Uh, where's Officer Boa Hancock?"
A tall, ponytailed female warrior, visibly straining under Kuro's oppressive Killing Intent, gritted her teeth and thrust out her trembling chest. "Officer Boa Hancock isn't here. You've come to the wrong place, Navy."
"That's not true!"
Before Kuro could speak, Lida interrupted defiantly.
Her eyes narrowed menacingly at the warrior's hairstyle. "I can feel that woman's annoying aura. She's definitely on this island."
She glanced at her own flowing white hair, then suddenly strode toward a Navy officer. Ignoring his astonished expression, she yanked the indigo scarf from his shoulder.
With practiced ease, she gathered her hair into a high ponytail, tying it with a bow. Then, puffing out her chest - which could probably accommodate several warships - she shot the ponytailed warrior a smug 'I win' expression.
The warrior blinked in confusion, unsure what the girl had to be so proud about.
Then her eyes flicked to Lida's chest, silently questioning what there was to boast about on that flat seascape.
As if sensing the unspoken challenge, Lida's eyes flared with anger, ready to transform into her maiden form. But at that moment, a voice rang out from the jungle depths.
"Filthy men! Who gave you permission to land on my island?!"
The voice carried an overwhelming aura that made the jungle tremble, flattening the foliage like worshippers bowing in unison.
This aura swept toward the shore, freezing the Navy officers in place. Their eyes rolled back as they collapsed one by one.
Even Fen Ni swayed unsteadily before finally fainting.
"Tch."
Klah clicked his tongue, instinctively transforming into his half-beast human form.
Lida shifted into her maiden form, her gaze locked on the jungle's depths.
"Th-that's Conqueror's Haki?!"
Sazil dropped to one knee under the pressure, sweat pouring from his brow as he stared into the jungle in terror.
Ju Geng took a few steps back, nocking an arrow without waiting for orders. With a thunderclap of sound, his bowstring snapped forward, sending an arrow streaking toward the jungle.
At that moment, another arrow suddenly shot from the jungle, colliding mid-air with Ju Geng's.
"Nice archery."
A voice called from the jungle as a bow-wielding woman emerged. She gave Ju Geng an approving nod before taking position at the side.
From the jungle, more female warriors began emerging. Their auras dwarfed those of the guards.
They formed two lines creating a path. Then two towering shadows flanked a slender figure as she stepped forward.
These two shadows belonged to two colossal women over four meters tall - one with green hair, the other with orange. Between them walked a woman of 1.9 meters, her jet-black hair flowing like silk, her every movement exuding irresistible charm.
Boa Hancock.
The World's Greatest Beauty, one of the Seven Warlords of the Sea, captain of the Ku Snake Pirates, and empress of Amazon Lily - the ravishing tyrant.
She wore a revealing top that accentuated her ample chest with every step, her narrow waist leading down to long, shapely legs. Her high-slit dress swayed provocatively with each movement, revealing glimpses that made hearts race.
At least Kuro's heart was racing.
His eyes couldn't decide where to look - left eye fixated on her upper half, right eye drawn to her lower half. As Boa Hancock approached, he muttered, "You sure know how to show off. Why not show a little more? Is this what strong men wear these days?"
"Kuro!"
Lida glared at him. "Your eyes are practically falling out!"
"Is that so?"
Kuro snapped back to reality, pouting. "Well, the Seven Warlords of the Sea really are impressive."
Lida huffed, shooting Boa Hancock a venomous glare as she approached.
Of course this woman was annoying as ever!
"Lucius Kro."
A faint black line appeared on Boa Hancock's forehead as she looked at the few remaining standing Navy officers. "I remember making an agreement with the World Government - no outsiders allowed on this island. Not from the World Government, not from the Navy."
"Oh that."
Kuro scratched his head thoughtfully. "I think there was something about that, but you didn't answer my call. I figured maybe you had some trouble - like your ship breaking down or something making it hard to move around, or maybe..."
He fixed Boa Hancock with a sly smile. "Something to do with a certain Luffy-wearing man?"
At his words, the two women beside Boa Hancock turned pale, their faces darkening with shock.
He... knows?!
Boom!
The ground exploded in a cloud of dust. When it cleared, Boa Hancock had vanished. A wisp of an afterimage flashed past Lida and Klah as her long leg lashed out like a whip toward Kuro's neck.
Clang!
A black blade blocked the strike, sending a shockwave rippling outward.
Kuro's left hand gripped Autumn Water, the blade only partially drawn from its sheath as he parried Boa Hancock's leg. "Oh? Why the Killing Intent, 'Snake Princess' Boa Hancock? I'm just here to complete my mission and take you with me."
"Silence! You've invaded my island, and I have every right to be enraged!"
Failing to land the kick, Boa Hancock flipped backward, placing both hands on the ground. Her long legs spun like a corkscrew toward Kuro.
"Perfume Feet!"
"Well then..."
Kuro sidestepped, his left hand sweeping upward to block Boa Hancock's relentless kicks with Autumn Water. As he dodged her final strike, his left hand released the blade, letting it hover momentarily before catching it in his right hand.
"Let's play a little."
Instantly, Boa Hancock altered her inverted kicking position, pushing off the ground with her hands to launch herself high into the air.
A wisp of black radiance flashed where she had been.
"Slash Wave."
Before the black radiance could dissipate, Kuro turned his blade skyward, unleashing a golden slash that soared toward Boa Hancock mid-air.
Boa Hancock kicked the slash away, her body spinning several times before landing gracefully, her gaze locked with Kuro's.
Her face was serious.
Even before defeating Lucius, Boa Hancock had known this man couldn't be underestimated.
The veteran Seven Warlords of the Sea all knew - aside from the Three Admirals, the Navy's most dangerous member was Lucius Kro.
