Chapter 502: Headline News
Chapter 502: Headline News
Kyle walked through the side door behind the main guest stand and entered a small room filled with portraits of wizards on both walls.
Kyle also spotted Phoenix, and he and another bearded headmaster were standing behind a house, peering at them.
"I just heard your name." Fleur walked over from the fireplace and said, "The cheers are so loud. I didn't expect you to be so famous at Hogwarts."
"It's just a home advantage." Kyle said, "If it were at Beauxbatons, your cheers would definitely be louder than mine."
"Not necessarily." Fleur shook her silver hair, neither agreeing nor disagreeing.
Kyle turned to look at Krum, the legendary Seeker, who was still the same. Upon seeing Kyle, he simply nodded and then stood by the fireplace, hunching over and deep in thought. Becoming a Champion didn't seem to make him very happy.
Outside, the cheers continued for a long time without subsiding.
During this time, no one else entered, as if Dumbledore, Chris, Bagman, and the others had forgotten about the three of them.
During this time, Krum remained by the fireplace, not saying a word. Fortunately, Fleur and Kyle were familiar with each other and could chat.
Finally, after more than ten minutes, the door to the room was opened from the outside again.
A person rushed in, and everyone's gaze subconsciously turned towards him.
"What's wrong?" Fleur looked at the thin figure, "Do they want us to go back to the Great Hall?"
"Oh... yes." After a brief daze, Harry quickly averted his gaze from Fleur's face and nodded, "The people from the Daily Prophet have arrived, and the headmaster has been talking to them.
Oh, and the Minister of Magic asked me to inform you to go back to the Great Hall."
"Is it Cornelius Fudge?" Fleur frowned.
Kyle had been watching Harry.
"Congratulations, Kyle." Harry smiled and said, "Fred and George said they wanted to make a hundred-foot-long flag. We'll all be cheering for you during the competition."
Saying this, he waved and left at a small run.
Fleur also stood up and began to walk reluctantly outside.
Kyle, who had regained his senses, shook his head and followed.
"You don't seem to like Fudge very much." He asked, "You two must not have met before."
"No, but Madame Maxime mentioned him to me."
"Because of your sister, Gabrielle?"
"Mhm." Fleur nodded.
"Is this matter resolved?" Kyle asked curiously.
"I guess." Fleur said angrily, "There were clearly six people... but Fudge blamed all the fault on one person and only agreed to send him to your wizard prison...
Of course, this is as it should be. Who let him use the Unforgivable Curse? But our demand is that everyone must be punished, and he keeps evading the issue."
As they spoke, the two had already arrived at the Great Hall.
They were greeted by cheers.
Kyle noticed that the Flame Cup had completely gone out.
After arriving here, Fleur's face no longer showed any dissatisfaction. She knew that negotiating with the Minister of Magic was Madame Maxime's responsibility, not hers.
At most, she would complain when no one was looking.
"Welcome, Champions." Fudge smiled and said.
"Snap!"
Accompanied by a purple cloud of smoke, the Daily Prophet photographer excitedly captured this moment.
"Headline news, Minister!" The short photographer holding the camera exclaimed.
"No, Padock." Fudge shook his head, "I think the headline should be left to these Champions... How about a group photo?"
"You're so thoughtful, Minister." The photographer immediately started moving, pulling the three Champions, including Kyle, to the center of the Great Hall.
Madame Maxime, though unhappy, stepped aside.
"Don't move, this... lady." Photographer Padock, amazed by Madame Maxime's tall stature, still reminded, "This is a group photo. You can stand next to the Champions, but be careful not to block them.
"Madam Maxime's face darkened even more, and she turned to look at Dumbledore.
'Of course, no problem at all,' Dumbledore said, stepping forward and standing behind Kyle. 'How about this?'
'Very good,' Bagman said.
Madame Maxime and Karkaroff also walked over, standing behind their respective school's Champions.
Once everyone was in place, Bagman didn't take the photo immediately but instead ran to the Gryffindor table and pulled Harry to the front.
'What are you waiting for? Let's cheer for our Champions!'
Amidst the enthusiastic applause, Bagman finally pressed the shutter.
The banquet ended there, and the students returned to their Common Rooms. As for Kyle, Fleur, and Krum, they went back to the small room they were in earlier.

This time, the three Headmasters, Fudge, Crouch, and their group also followed inside.
'I sincerely hope that this interaction will make you get along better,' Dumbledore said with a smile. 'The Triwizard Tournament is a cruel competition, but it's also a great opportunity for you to make friends... I've always believed that having one more like-minded friend is sometimes more precious than being a Champion.'
Krum's expression shifted, but he still didn't speak.
'Alright, Albus, let's get to the point,' Karkaroff said. 'Viktor has been feeling unwell lately and needs to rest early.'
'Of course, that's understandable,' Dumbledore said. 'Allow me to recommend Madam Pomfrey from the Hogwarts School Hospital. She's one of the best healers I know.'
'That's quite a high praise,' Karkaroff said.
'Alright, let's continue,' Bagman rubbed his hands together and smiled at everyone in the room. 'It's time to give our Champions some guidance, isn't it?'
'Absolutely,' Fudge smiled. 'Chris, it's your turn to speak.'
'Okay,' Chris nodded and took two steps forward.
'The first task... will test your courage, so I won't tell you what it is. Facing the unknown is an important factor for wizards... The only hint I can give you is "breaking through."
'There will be three levels, corresponding to three different schools. Only by reaching the end will you obtain the clue for the second task.'
'That's about it, Chris,' Bagman smiled. 'We can't reveal any more, or the competition will lose a lot of its fun.'
'Alright, you're right,' Chris smiled.
Kyle, Fleur, and Krum looked at Bagman with unfriendly eyes... but he patted his belly proudly.
'Now, for the timing,' Chris clapped his hands. 'The first task will take place on November 30th, in front of all the students, and will be scored by the judging panel.
'When completing the task, the Champions must not accept any help from other professors. Your only weapon is the wand in your hand.'
As he said the last two words, 'your wand,' Chris's tone became heavier, as if reminding them of something.
Fortunately, no one else noticed this.
'Since the task's requirements are already very high, the Champions don't need to participate in the year-end exams,' Chris continued. 'You have a month. Don't worry about anything else and prepare for the task seriously.'
Then he turned to Dumbledore, 'I think that's all, Albus.'
'Yes,' Dumbledore said. 'How about a drink later? I have a good bottle of whisky.'
'I'm afraid not, Albus,' Chris said. 'It's currently the busiest time, and there's still a lot to do at the Ministry.'
'It's just a drink, nothing serious,' Fudge winked and smiled. 'Besides, you should want to celebrate, too.'
'Alright... then,' Chris nodded in agreement.
'Wonderful,' Dumbledore smiled.
He wanted to invite Madame Maxime and Karkaroff as well, but when he turned around, he found that they had already left with their respective school's Champions.
