Chapter 499: The Weasley Brothers' Surprise
Chapter 499: The Weasley Brothers' Surprise
Crouch couldn't make it, which was indeed good news for Kyle.
At that moment, Dumbledore and Bagman also emerged from a side door.
"Oh, Kyle, why haven't you gone back to rest yet?" Dumbledore smiled and said, "As I mentioned earlier, the Triwizard Tournament is no child's play. I suggest you think it over carefully and come back tomorrow morning."
"Then, Albus, I'll be on my way..." Bagman, standing beside him, frowned and said, "Working overtime, I wonder if there's any extra pay."
"Goodbye, Ludo. You've worked hard," Dumbledore said.
After Bagman left, Kyle was about to return to his dormitory, but after taking a few steps, he suddenly stopped and turned back to Dumbledore.
"Professor, I think it's best if you ask the professors to pay more attention to the Goblet of Fire."
Dumbledore looked at him with a puzzled expression. "Oh?"
"Well... that's the thing," Kyle said. "You should know that during the Quidditch World Cup, someone tried to kill Harry."
Dumbledore's expression gradually became serious. "What are you trying to say?"
"It's just... the person who cast the Dark Mark hasn't been caught yet, right? And you also mentioned that the Champions participating in the Triwizard Tournament are in constant danger."
Kyle didn't say it explicitly, but Dumbledore clearly understood.
"I'll consider your suggestion," he said, looking at Kyle. "But I think the possibility is quite low."
"I was just speaking casually, Professor. Perhaps I'm just overthinking it." Kyle shrugged.
He still felt that it was better to remind Dumbledore before they could confirm whether Barty Crouch Jr. had infiltrated Hogwarts or not.
In the distance, Filch's footsteps could be heard. Kyle touched the Marauder's Map in his pocket and, after bidding farewell to the headmaster, returned to the Hufflepuff Common Room.
The next day was Saturday, and usually, everyone would go for breakfast quite late. But today was different.
Early in the morning, Kyle was awakened by his two roommates.
"Wake up, Kyle! Everyone's already in the Great Hall, and you're still sleeping!" Mikael directly opened the window, letting the cold wind blow in.
Kyle sat up in bed, "There's no need to rush. The Champions won't be announced until tonight."
But Mikael and Ryan didn't listen. They seemed convinced that the earlier they submitted their names, the higher their chances of being chosen.
Reluctantly, Kyle got up and put on a thick robe.
When they arrived at the Great Hall, they saw dozens of people gathered around, all carefully examining the Goblet of Fire placed in the center.
A fine golden line was drawn on the floor around the Goblet, with a radius of about ten feet.
Conna stood at the entrance, with Fengrong and Professor Maxime beside her.
"This is actually against the rules," Professor Maxime said in a low voice. "But Fengrong... well, if you all think it's okay, I agree."
After the two professors left, Kyle curiously approached Conna. "What were you talking about just now?"
"Nothing much," Conna smiled. "Fengrong said she wants to stay until the end of the school year. She can't sleep in the carriage all the time, so I thought I'd see if she could temporarily stay in our dormitory."
"We discussed it last night, and everyone agreed."
"So, Fengrong can move into the Hufflepuff dormitory today?"
Kyle asked.
"And Gabrielle." Fengrong explained, "But not permanently. She'll be going back to the carriage when the competition is approaching. That's Madame Maxime's bottom line."
Kyle nodded, and the headmaster seemed to have already assumed that Fengrong would become Beauxbatons' Champion.
"What about the rest of the Beauxbatons students?" Kyle asked, "Since you're staying here, won't they have any objections? After all, you all came together."
"They can if they want to." Fengrong said nonchalantly.
Seeing her reaction, Kyle didn't say anything further.
At this moment, Fred and George also came down from the upper floor. Upon noticing Fengrong, they slowed their hurried steps and then walked over in an exaggerated, unhurried manner.
"Good morning, my dear friends." Fred said in a strange tone.
"It's great to see you here..." George said solemnly, looking as if he were talking about Percy's work.
"Can you two act normal?" Kyle said with some disdain.
"We are normal." Fred said, and then pinned a self-made badge on his chest that read, "Big Head Boy."
"They are Fred Weasley and George Weasley." Kyle introduced.

"Weasley?" Fengrong looked at the identical twins and blinked.
"Yeah, they're the younger children of the Weasley family." Kyle said.
He noticed that Fengrong had a look of greeting but also seemed a bit lost.
"Oh, you don't need to distinguish between them. Just call their names, and they'll help correct you if needed."
"Hey, that's too much!" Fred frowned in dissatisfaction.
"Exactly, it's obvious that I'm the better-looking one."
"Nonsense, they said it was me..."
The two continued arguing, and eventually, it escalated to the point where they were pinching each other's necks, and it seemed they might start fighting at any moment.
"Sorry, we'll be right back." Kyle said to Cona and Fengrong, and then dragged Fred and George out of the Great Hall.
Magically, as soon as they were out of Fengrong's sight, the two immediately calmed down.
"No!" Fred released George's hand and shook his head, "Kyle, that girl has issues!"
"We wouldn't normally act like this." George frowned, "But just now, I couldn't help but want to show off. This feeling is familiar, as if..."
"The Quidditch World Cup." Fred said, "Bulgaria's mascot... those Veela!"
"She's a Veela!" George's voice was hoarse.
Kyle shook his head, "Don't talk nonsense. Veela can't use wands, no matter which country they're from."
"Then she must have Veela blood." George said firmly.
This time, Kyle didn't say anything further. He just waved his hand and said, "Don't make a big fuss. If others see this, they'll think we Hogwarts folks have never seen the world."
"That's amazing." Fred was so surprised that he couldn't close his mouth, momentarily forgetting his previous embarrassment.
George couldn't help but peek at the entrance and quickly retracted his gaze. "There's no one like her at Hogwarts, right? I dare say she'll become the Champion."
