Chapter 498: I, Klah, Am Unrivaled Under Heaven!
Chapter 498: I, Klah, Am Unrivaled Under Heaven!
Klah in his Half-Beast Form might not be towering, but his physique alone created an oppressive presence against these pirates.
Just a bunch of underlings. With his guard up, bullets and blades couldn't even reach him. Even if they did, as a Zoan-type Devil Fruit user, his Restoration ability rendered such attacks meaningless.
In this world, aside from a few exceptions, even someone as formidable as Garp could be wounded by blades or bullets when caught off guard. But when prepared?
Bullets? More like paper scraps!
Klah stood vigilant. Without even needing Armament Haki, his Iron Body alone could handle these pirates. This would be a thoroughly satisfying stomping session!
As Klah prepared to slash apart the pirate who'd dared ambush him, a sudden surge of alertness shot through his mind.
"Amplification·Fivefold!"
A thunderous shout rang out from the side.
Klah shredded the pirate before him with a single claw strike, then sprang into motion. After several acrobatic leaps, he landed atop the ship's railing.
Boom!
The deck where he'd stood moments ago was cleaved open by a massive blade.
It was a giant sword—a colossal Long Blade seemingly modified from an ordinary pirate's weapon, identical to those carried by the crew except for one key difference.
It had been amplified.
The arm wielding it was equally gigantic. Gale, the pirate Klah had previously felled with a Fishman Karate strike, now towered over them like a colossus. Clutching his bleeding chest with one hand, he gripped the blade in the other, his expression gruesome.
The sheer weight of his kick sent the pirate ship lurching downward, one end plunging into the sea.
"Can he even grow like that?" Klah widened his eyes in surprise.
"Heh, surprised, Navy dog?"
Gale grinned maliciously. "I'm the one who ate the Multiply-Multiply Devil Fruit! My Amplification ability can magnify any substance—including myself!"
"Woah, Kuro look! A giant!"
From the distant warship, Lida pointed excitedly at the ten-meter-tall pirate. His expression resembled that of someone spotting a rare species.
"Seriously?!" Kuro exclaimed. "So this is possible too?"
A pirate growing larger, plus that cannonball that had suddenly expanded earlier...
Another subordinate of the Momo Devil Fruit?
Subordinate Devil Fruits weren't merely weaker versions of their parent abilities—they possessed unique traits. Take Kuro's own subordinate Devil Fruit, the Float-Float Fruit. While it manipulated weight like its parent, it allowed objects to float weightlessly without altering their mass.
Diamante could turn steel into hooded cloaks.
But in Kuro's hands?
Steel became space-based weaponry.
The Speed-Speed Fruit was another subordinate of Momo, but unlike the parent fruit, it couldn't perform mass acceleration. If Momo could do that, Buggy the Clown would've already claimed the One Piece.
This Devil Fruit, however, seemed to grant self-amplification beyond its parent's abilities. Momo couldn't grow its users, only objects—granting them 100x size and speed at most.
If this guy had a transformer and wore a spandex suit claiming to be "The Flash", Kuro would have no choice but to accept it.
"Giants aren't that impressive", Kuro remarked. "Real giants start at twelve meters. This one's under ten. Though if he pushed his ability to the limit... Pity we're still in Paradise. If he'd matured in the New World, he might've become a threat."
New World giants, masters of Haki and unparalleled strength, were the World Government's most coveted military assets. Every giant in the Navy ranked at least Vice Admiral.
But here in Paradise, sheer size alone wasn't enough.
"I'll split you in two with one slash!"
Gale swung his blade downward at Klah. His enlarged form created a massive attack range. If not for worrying about the ship collapsing, he'd have grown tenfold—towering over even most giants!
But Fivefold amplification was sufficient. Even against a Zoan, this strike couldn't be blocked.
Klah watched the colossal blade descend. Its sheer size alone could engulf his entire body.
Yet...
"Too slow."
Klah vanished from the ship's railing in a flash.
Crash!
The blade carved a massive gash into the ship's edge. Meanwhile, Klah reappeared atop Gale's head.
His twin claws clamped together like a Dragon Ball-style energy blast, aiming straight at Gale's skull as he coldly declared, "How could you possibly match my speed?"
"Six Styles Mystic Art—Six Styles!"
Boom!!
A massive pale-blue shockwave erupted from Klah's palms, engulfing Gale's head and crashing down his entire body. The pirate ship couldn't withstand this force either—the central hull shattered, splitting the vessel in two as it sank.
Klah bounced across the sky, delivering several aerial kicks that unleashed pale-blue slashes. The ship's halves disintegrated completely. Those pirates who'd escaped the shockwave were sliced apart mid-air by Klah's Calm Step technique, their remains sinking into the Grand Line alongside the wreckage.
"This is the true might of Officer Klah!"
Klah sneered down at the carnage. "Let your deaths etch this moment into eternity!"
Devil Fruits naturally carried side effects. As an ancient-type werewolf, Klah took pride in his ferocity. Combat awakened his bloodlust instinctively.
This was Officer Klah's true nature!
I, Klah, am unrivaled under—
"Are you done yet?!"
Kuro's voice barked from the distant warship. "If you're finished, get your ass back! Are you planning to hover there pissing around?!"
Klah's tail drooped as he reverted from Half-Beast to Human Form. Adjusting his glasses and pressing his lips together, he replied, "Yes, Mr. Kuro."
With that, he walked across the air back to the warship.
So what if he was a werewolf? Did being a werewolf make him special? No matter how fearsome his reputation, he could never escape Mr. Kuro's grasp.
Not that he dared to escape. Though rumors of him taking the fall for Kuro's troubles had faded recently, Klah knew one truth remained—he'd boarded this warship long ago, and there'd be no disembarking now.
