Chapter 496: Chaos Law
Chapter 496: Chaos Law
"Lindsey, you and Wah Wah Wah both have children?"
Alarson was shocked and horrified.
Lindsey rolled her eyes at the one-armed painter and quickly pulled the child off her lap.
He spoke with a serious tone:
"Child, you've mistaken me for your father. I'm not your dad."
"And not to mention having children, I've only been in love once in my life, let alone getting married..."
Lindsey wanted to explain, but the child suddenly interrupted:
"Dad, my mom is Wah Wah Wah!"
"The chaotic source essence has affected all the Illusory Dreams, gradually disrupting the order and rules of these worlds, influencing each other, and even time has become abnormal! Dad, I really am your child, please go and save Mom!"
"..."
The child's series of statements were truly overwhelming.
Lindsey was left somewhat dazed.
But before he could react, the child seemed to sense that something was about to happen, and they started speaking faster:
"In the Blue Zone, at the port!"
"Mom was being chased by bad people, and she was still so young then!"
"Dad, you must save Mom!"
As the child finished speaking, their figure abruptly vanished from Lindsey's sight, leaving no trace to be found, neither through skills nor normal senses.
It was as if the child had never been there.
"..."
Lindsey and Alarson stood there, staring at each other.
The situation unfolded so suddenly, leaving no room for verification or investigation.
It was truly baffling.
"..."
"Anyway, I'll go and check inside the house first."
Lindsey's mind went blank.
He decided not to dwell on this unverifiable information.
Instead, he followed his original plan and went to Wah Wah Wah's room to investigate.
The map indicated that the room was empty, and in reality, the house was also deserted.
But the good news was that Lindsey detected a familiar source essence upon inspection.
After Wah Wah Wah's successful ascension, her powerful emotional source essence had left its mark here, revealing her feelings.
Joy—Excitement—Confusion—
The changes in emotions corresponded precisely to Wah Wah Wah's experiences after her successful ascension.
The emotions revealed in the source essence were so evident that even Alarson, who entered later, could clearly sense it:
"It seems Wah Wah Wah was indeed pulled into this place."
Lindsey nodded slightly.
He suppressed the chaotic emotions in his heart and began examining the footprints on the ground.
The depth of the footprint colors indicated the time they were left, giving a rough idea of the person's movements.
Approximately an hour after her successful ascension.
Wah Wah Wah decided to leave the room and head outside the theater.
"I can see her footprints; let's follow them."
Lindsey informed Alarson, and they followed the footprints out.
However, just as they reached the lobby of Fenburr Theatre, about to leave the theater, Lady Salah suddenly rushed out.
At this moment, Lady Salah's face was covered in wrinkles, and her hair was like a withered pine tree, showing a lifeless white.
When Lady Salah saw Lindsey and Alarson, she shouted:
"You, Lindsey, please save me!"
Bang! In an instant, Lady Salah aged rapidly, collapsing on the ground.
Lindsey didn't hesitate.
He rushed over to check Lady Salah's condition.
Her physical age was rapidly aging, as if something was accelerating the passage of time within her! Lindsey furrowed his brows:
"Time... lifespan... what can I use to stop this?"
Lady Salah gazed at Lindsey with her cloudy, lusterless eyes:
"Inspiration... Inspiration exhausted."
"It will consume your soul, your lifespan..."
Lady Salah's voice trailed off.
Her body and clothes dissipated into the air, erasing all traces of her existence.
Meanwhile, others in the theater lobby started pointing and whispering:
"Look, inspiration exhausted, she's dead."
"As I said, if one has no creative inspiration, what's the point of living? Returning to the world and embracing rebirth is the proper path."
"..."
The danger in this world.
It was a danger brought about by the world's rules!
Lindsey didn't have much affection for the woman who had once mocked and ridiculed Wah Wah Wah.
But seeing her die and disappear so desperately before his eyes, leaving a clue in her final moments.
"Rest in peace..."
Following the teachings of the Death School, Lindsey performed a simple ceremony for Lady Salah.
He turned to his companion:
"Alarson, you heard that too, right?"
"In this world, we must not participate in any entertainment or engage in any artistic consumption."
Alarson, unsure of what to say, simply nodded.
The two bid farewell to the Fenburr Theater and followed Wah Wah Wah's footprints, heading south.
Half an hour passed in pursuit.
Until the footprints became clearer.
Lindsey estimated that in one or two hours, they would catch up to her.
But the footprints suddenly disappeared on a wooden sampan.
They stopped, and Alarson looked around, his voice tense as he spoke to Lindsey:
"Lindsey, the pier..."
Lindsey nodded slightly.
Just as Alarson had said, they had followed Wah Wah Wah's footprints and ended up at the pier in the Blue Zone.
This outcome matched the guidance given by the person who claimed to be Lindsey's child!
"..."
"Do you think we can believe what that child said?" Alarson asked.
Lindsey, however, was carefully examining the footprints on the sampan.
As he focused, detailed text descriptions emerged:
【Human female footprints—disappear here. No signs of increased force for a jump or preparation for a run, just as if someone had suddenly vanished.】
"Wah Wah Wah didn't jump into the sea or turn back."
"She just disappeared right here."
Alarson ventured a question:
"Is it possible—that the child was telling the truth?"
"Time here is completely chaotic, and Wah Wah Wah has fallen into another time fragment?"
Lindsey frowned, muttering softly:
"Interfering with time..."
Searching for someone in the Illusory Dream world was already a challenging task.
Now, with the added complication of chaotic time and the rules and interference of the Illusory Dream, the difficulties were unimaginable!
"Thief, don't run!"
"Sir, help us stop this guy!"
"This slut stole our stuff; we can't let her get away!"
Suddenly, shouts rang out from a distance.
Lindsey looked up to see several fierce-looking men chasing a ragged little girl in a black cloak, desperately fleeing towards them.
