Chapter 492: Planting the Divine Tree Again
Chapter 492: Planting the Divine Tree Again
"Let's go, Lilith."
Feng Ye rose from the sofa, tucking his phone into his pocket. A faint gleam flashed in his eyes as he said, "Let's go plant a tree first."
"Yes," Lilith replied lightly.
Feng Ye's gaze swept past the city outside the window before he took a step forward. A pitch-black spatial passage appeared before him.
Lilith followed Feng Ye into the spatial passage and disappeared from the room.
Outside the Human Survival Zone.
This place was nearly a thousand kilometers away from the nearest Human Survival Zone, making it quite remote.
Contrary to expectations, the world here was not desolate but lush and verdant. However, the plants all appeared strangely distorted, and the towering trees evoked a sense of unease.
Swish!
A pitch-black spatial passage opened, and Feng Ye's figure appeared in the sky, about several dozen meters above the ground.
Lilith floated behind him, her soft, jade-like feet trailing as she emerged from the black passage. She looked down at the ground expressionlessly.
Feng Ye didn't plan to plant the Divine Tree in the Human Survival Zone just yet. It wouldn't be surprising if one day, while running errands, a bald hero accidentally punched it out of existence. Moreover, there were countless powerful beings outside the Human Survival Zones, and any of them could serve as nourishment for the Divine Tree.
Swish!
Just as Feng Ye's gaze swept the surroundings, a peculiarly shaped tree nearby abruptly lashed out with its branches, piercing towards him.
However, before the branches could get close, they were halted several meters away by an invisible wall.
Floating at Feng Ye's side, Lilith extended her hand towards the branches, her eyes cold and indifferent. "Omni-Attracting Heavenly Draw."
Rumble!!!
Under the might of a surging power, the bizarre tree that had attacked Feng Ye began to contort, its branches wildly flailing.
It tried to wrest control from the Omni-Attracting Heavenly Draw but was forcibly suppressed by Lilith's strength. After a few struggles, it was ripped out of the ground, roots and all, and pulled into the sky.
The thick roots, still caked with soil, writhed like living giant pythons in the air, twisting and turning. One of them lashed out at Lilith in a final act of defiance.
Rumble!
Lilith clenched her small fist, and the power of the Omni-Attracting Heavenly Draw burst forth, compressing the mutant tree into a green ball. It twitched once before becoming completely still.
"Does every life form here possess strength close to a Ghost-level threat?" Feng Ye mused as he regarded the mutant tree that Lilith had squeezed into a ball.
He didn't yet have a full grasp of the power dynamics at the bottom of this world, but through his brief encounters with the Sexy Prisoner, the Vest Guy, and a few other low-ranking S-class heroes, he had a general idea of their strength.
And their strength wasn't too far off from a Ghost-level threat.
The strange tree that had suddenly attacked him just now might not be as strong as the Sexy Prisoner and the others, but it was probably around the Ghost-level, making it a peculiar Ghost-level monster.
It seemed that once you left the Human Survival Zones, you would encounter Ghost-level monsters everywhere. No wonder the Human Survival Zones in this world had been shrinking in recent years.
"Even Saitama can't change this situation," Feng Ye remarked as he surveyed their surroundings, a faint azure light flickering in his eyes. He let out a soft laugh.
"If Saitama can't change it..."
"Then I will."
A smile appeared on Feng Ye's face as he gently extended his hand forward.
Gulu!!
His palm twitched, and a strange pattern appeared—the symbol of the Chakra Fruit.
A portion of the chakra quickly condensed and concentrated in his palm, transforming into a pitch-black Seek Way Jade. But then it squirmed and flowed, eventually becoming a peculiar seed.
Swish!
The seed flew out of Feng Ye's palm and descended towards the ground below.
Lilith watched this scene by his side, tilting her head slightly and furrowing her brow in thought. "Is this the process by which Lilith was born?"
"Something like that," Feng Ye replied with a faint smile.
As the Divine Tree seed fell towards the ground, just as it was about to touch the surface, the earth abruptly split open.
Suddenly, a gigantic creature with a body over a hundred meters long emerged from the fissure in the open ground. It opened its massive jaws and swallowed the Divine Tree seed in one bite.
However, neither Feng Ye nor Lilith made any move; they simply watched.
ROAR!!!
After consuming the Divine Tree seed, the enormous creature roared towards the sky and turned towards Feng Ye and Lilith, its mouth wide open as if to devour them as well.
But just as its lower body was about to break free from the ground, its massive frame suddenly froze.
Its eyes widened in surprise.
Gulu!!
Something stirred within its body, forcibly straightening its huge form, and a squirming bulge appeared on its head.
The monster struggled feebly, waving its claws a few times, but to no avail. Finally, its head exploded.
WHOOSH!!
Accompanied by a spray of green blood, a red blossom burst through its skull, drilling out of its body and growing rapidly. In a short time, it reached a height of over a hundred meters.
BOOM!
Absorbing the flesh and blood of this dragon-like monster as nourishment, the Divine Tree seed grew rapidly, and its thick roots penetrated the creature's body, piercing into the earth and tearing the surrounding land.
"Not everything can be eaten indiscriminately," Feng Ye remarked softly, observing the scene.
Perhaps sensing the Divine Tree seed's vibrant life force, the monster had devoured it, but the power contained within the seed far exceeded the ferocity of the monster cells in this world!
With the birth of the Divine Tree sapling, a terrifying aura permeated the area.
Some of the nearby living mutant monsters and monster trees sensed this aura and trembled, then one by one, they pulled up their roots as if to flee.
But before they could escape, a thick root of the Divine Tree shot out from the ground, spanning the sky. It split into countless tendrils that impaled the monster trees and flowers.
A glint appeared in Feng Ye's eyes as he watched, and he narrowed his gaze. "It absorbed the monster cells..."
