Chapter 491: The Method to Open the Door
Chapter 491: The Method to Open the Door
"To enter the Illusory Dream, you first need to find a painter, a painter capable of creating an Impressional Gateway."
"As for the artifact that anchors the spatial concept of the Illusory Dream, there are two options."
"The first is something related to the Illusory Dream itself, such as an item associated with its creator or something directly derived from within it. The second is an item belonging to a person currently trapped within the Illusory Dream. Based on the Essence aura left behind by the person, it can also serve as a target."
Upon receiving the answer, Lindsey immediately rushed out of the Fenburr Theatre.
The district division of Thousand Sails City was quite impressive.
Walking straight north from the Blue Zone, one would reach the Purple Zone, where painters gathered.
Lindsey planned to start his search for a painter there and then head to Wah Wah Wah's house in the Orange Zone to find an item imbued with their Essence.
With that, all the conditions to enter the Illusory Dream would be met.
"..."
"Lindsey, good evening."
"The situation in the city is quite unusual right now. I suggest you go home and rest. It's best not to go out tonight!"
On his way, Lindsey heard someone greeting him.
He turned and saw a guard statue.
The guard statues in Thousand Sails City lacked respiratory organs and were not strictly carbon-based lifeforms. This night, they were less affected by the interference of the World Strings.
So, at this moment, they could still offer Lindsey well-intentioned advice.
"No problem, I understand..."
Lindsey was about to set off, but his steps suddenly halted.
He needed to find a painter capable of creating an Impressional Gateway.
This wasn't something he could inquire about on the streets, asking each person individually.
Lindsey's original plan was to go to the distant Painter Guild in the Purple Zone and seek assistance, as he was sure to find a qualified painter there.
However, the stone statue before him presented a new idea.
Time was of the essence.
The guard statues were scattered throughout the city, sharing information and keeping track of the activities of numerous individuals.
If he wanted to inquire about the existence of such a painter...
Were there any faster or better options than these statues? Lindsey immediately turned back and asked:
"Friend, could I trouble you with something?"
"Due to this sudden crisis, Wah Wah Wah has been pulled into the Illusory Dream. I need to find a painter who can use an Impressional Gateway to help me rescue her."
"What? Wah Wah Wah was sucked in?" The guard statue's expression remained stoic.
But the tone of voice conveyed genuine concern, as if their best friend had just gone missing.
Lindsey didn't need to offer any incentives.
The guard statue immediately left its post and, with two loud clanks, led the way eastward.
"Come with me!"
"There's a painter in the Purple Zone these days, drawing portraits on the street. His painting skills are impressive, and he's an Awakened. Plus, he's easy to talk to. He's the perfect person to help us!"
Lindsey followed the statue into the Purple Zone.
Instead of seeking help from the distant Painter Guild, he reached his destination in just five short minutes.
They arrived beneath an arch that spanned two streets.
Sitting there was a one-armed painter, his easel propped up in front of him.
"You...Alarson?"
"Lindsey!"
Lindsey called out the painter's name.
The one-armed painter, Alarson, turned around. He was the same painter Lindsey had met on the Catol Islands and later traveled with to Thousand Sails City!
After not seeing each other for some time, Alarson was both curious and delighted to see Lindsey:
"What a coincidence to meet you in the city at a time like this."
However, Lindsey had no time for catching up with Alarson.
On Mermaid Island, Lindsey encountered a one-armed painter, and he was certain that the man had some talent.
Lindsey's gaze shifted from the other's canvas, scanning the illusory blocks of light, and he made a guess:
"Alarson, you must have noticed the situation in the city as well?"
Alarson nodded.
"This city seems to be facing some trouble."
"But this is the City of a Thousand Sails; the issue will surely be resolved."
"And this rare sight, I must capture it and immortalize it on my own canvas."
This is what Alarson said.
But he also sensed the seriousness in Lindsey's expression, so after explaining, he stopped speaking and quietly waited for Lindsey's response.
Lindsey spoke directly:
"Actually, I just escaped from an illusory dream. Now, I'm looking for a painter who can use the Impressional Gateway to help me enter another illusory dream."
Alarson understood:
"You need me to help create the Impressional Gateway?"
"Lindsey, listen to my advice. Entering an illusory dream is very dangerous, and the Impressional Gateway isn't a safe thing..."
Lindsey interrupted Alarson:
"Wah Wah Wah was also taken in, and now he's trapped in a very dangerous world!"
"..."
Lindsey's purpose was clear, and no further explanation was needed.
The one-armed painter looked up at the sky.
After a few seconds, Alarson put away his canvas, tucked the brush into the inner pocket of his clothes, and said with a sigh:
"In the end, being able to escape from Mermaid Island is also thanks to your help."
"This debt of gratitude is the hardest to owe."
"However, Lindsey, I still have to remind you that the Impressional Gateway is very strict. Even if you say so, I can't help you create a gateway to enter an illusory dream."
Lindsey replied:
"According to a Seventh-Stage Awakened, as long as you have the corresponding artifact as coordinates and use the corresponding skill, you can attempt to enter the Illusionary Gate and open the way to enter it."
Alarson's expression was subtle, "In just a few days, you've already become acquainted with a Seventh-Stage Awakened? Is it the family of that guy Anthony's little girlfriend?"
Lindsey started leading the way forward.
As he rushed through the city, he explained to Alarson behind him:
"It's a big shot from Fenburr Theatre."
"Wah Wah Wah and I made some friends at the theater recently. They told me this secret because of some matters."
Alarson's expression changed instantly:
"Fenburr Theatre!"
"I know that place. Tickets for the best performances can even sell for several gold coins!"
"By the way, since you're on good terms with them, have you met the legendary Yaostar yet? I've always wanted to go and watch her performance and maybe even paint a portrait."
"..."
Lindsey stumbled slightly as he rushed forward.
Although he knew Yaostar was a famous actor in the city, he hadn't expected to personally experience her reputation at this moment.
As if to encourage his companion, Lindsey turned to Alarson and promised:
"After this is over, I'll take you to watch Yaostar's performance. You can watch as long as you like!"
Alarson was extremely sensitive on this topic.
He paused for two seconds.
Then, the one-armed painter thought of something, and his tone became urgent as he began to ask:
"You can watch as long as you like!"
"Lindsey, I heard that Anthony's situation is quite serious."
"Have you met Yaostar in Fenburr Theatre these past few days?"
