Chapter 491: Has Nicolas Run Away?
Chapter 491: Has Nicolas Run Away?
The next morning, Fred and George were eagerly waiting at the entrance of the Great Hall, finally getting their wish to enter Kyle's trunk once again. Cedric and Autumn joined them as well, making the trunk much livelier than the previous day's quiet with only Cona.
After witnessing the vast space inside the trunk, Fred immediately decided to embark on an adventure. Kyle didn't object and watched as Fred and George happily ran into the forest until they were completely out of sight.
"Is it really okay?" Cedric asked with concern, "Won't they encounter any danger?"
"No!" Kyle waved his hand, "The dangerous area you saw earlier is that clearing."
Upon hearing Kyle's words, Autumn, like Cona, added the clearing to her blacklist and silently vowed never to take a step closer, no matter what.
However, Cedric was quite interested, perhaps because the Hufflepuff Head of House was Professor Sprout, who taught Herbology. He was keen on the magical plants and even planned to grow a Devil's Snare himself.
By midday, the Weasley brothers returned, but their dejected appearance indicated that their adventure hadn't gone as they had hoped.
They didn't find the fire dragon they had been longing for. In fact, Norbert had appeared once after they entered the trunk, but upon seeing others with Kyle, he flew away. Fred and George had wanted to go on an adventure after seeing him disappear into the depths of the forest.
They wandered around for hours without catching even a glimpse of the fire dragon. Even as they left the trunk, they kept muttering about it—after all, this was probably the only dragon they could encounter without worrying about danger.
Unfortunately, Norbert didn't seem to like them, and Kyle couldn't do anything about it.
...
However, they soon stopped worrying about such trivial matters. On Wednesday, Snape returned.
During breakfast that day, he pushed open the door and strode into the Great Hall. Many students sighed upon seeing his familiar black robes and cold eyes, as they had thought they would finally be rid of Snape this year. Some hadn't even done their Potions homework for the holidays, including Fred and George.
But the Slytherins seemed delighted and stood up, applauding their Head of House enthusiastically.
Kyle watched as Snape walked over to stand beside Dumbledore. His presence at the school proved that Regulus's issue had likely been resolved, which probably made Sirius happier than regaining his freedom.
However, some couldn't share in the joy. All morning, Mikael and Ryan rushed to complete their Potions homework, using every spare moment. The first History of Magic class was fine, as no one paid attention to what they did as long as they didn't make too much noise.
But the second Transfiguration class was different. Professor McGonagall caught them, confiscating their recently written Potions homework and even increasing their Transfiguration homework from five feet to eight feet... The two nearly burst into tears on the spot.
"By the way..." After arranging their punishment, Professor McGonagall turned to Kyle, "The Headmaster is looking for you, and the password is Pepper Pimple."
"I understand, Professor."
Kyle nodded, not surprised, and left the classroom with Cona. He then headed to the eighth floor alone.
The Headmaster's Office was quiet, with all the portraits on the walls covered in thick velvet. Dumbledore remained seated behind his desk, seemingly waiting for him.
"I assume you already know about Regulus, and he's no longer the kind of monster we once saw," Dumbledore said.
"I know," Kyle replied. "I saw Professor Snape return this morning."
"Yes..." Dumbledore spoke softly, "It's been more than two months, more troublesome than I imagined, but it's finally resolved."
"What will happen to him... to Regulus, then?" Kyle asked.
"I don't know either," Dumbledore shook his head. "Sirius meant that he would arrange everything, and we don't need to do anything until that person is completely eliminated."
"Is that so?" Kyle said.
He knew Dumbledore was referring to Voldemort, but he didn't understand Sirius's decision and didn't ask further.
"You've saved two innocent souls, Kyle," Dumbledore stood up and said with a smile, "Helping Sirius regain his freedom and uncovering the truth about Regulus, either of these deeds is worthy of praise.

As a former wizard who once resisted Voldemort alongside everyone, I'm grateful for everything you've done for them. But as the headmaster, I can't give you extra points for these matters outside of school."
"It's fine, Professor," Kyle shook his head.
After all, these events occurred during the holidays and had little direct connection to Hogwarts, making it inappropriate for extra points.
"However..." Kyle paused and said, "I hope you can grant me a request."
"Go ahead," Dumbledore smiled, "But I must remind you that if you want to learn the spell I used before, it's best to choose another one. Don't forget that I already promised to teach it to you, and I have no intention of going back on my word."
"It's a different request," Kyle said, "I want you to let me handle the item that Regulus exchanged."
Kyle knew that Dumbledore didn't call him just for the matters they discussed earlier; it was most likely about the pendant box.
Dumbledore couldn't possibly guess what it was, and it was surprising that he had endured until now.
Indeed, when Kyle mentioned the pendant box, Dumbledore's expression became more serious.
After a moment of thought, Dumbledore asked, "Do you know what it is?"
"Of course, it's the same as the diary," Kyle replied. "But I have a way to deal with it."
Kyle even suspected that Nicolas had run off with the crown.
But the problem was that he couldn't ask.
So, for now, he could only wait for Nicolas to contact him.
