East London is one of the more chaotic areas of London, especially Whitechapel, which is predominantly inhabited by South Asians. Under normal circumstances, outsiders generally avoid entering this area, but today there was an exception. Three girls, who looked to be around eleven or twelve years old, were walking down the street in rather old-fashioned trench coats. Perhaps because the scene was a bit eerie, the street thugs only glanced at them from a distance and did not approach.
These three were Liam, Hermione, and Gill, who had used Faceless Magic to transform into girls their age. Rose Crystal, meanwhile, was floating invisibly above them as backup. Ten minutes after receiving the intel, they were already outside the Death Eater's hideout.
In front of them stood a two-story Victorian building with an attic. The red brick walls were dirty, and some of the windows were broken, patched up with rough planks. A metal trash bin, its green paint mostly chipped away, was placed beside the front door, filled with garbage. Two stray cats were scavenging for food on the bin and scurried away with a meow as Liam and the others approached.
Seeing no one around, Liam and the others crouched down at the street corner. Liam then threw a rune-inscribed stone at the wall, using it as a stepping stone to analyze the defensive magic around them. However, while drawing the runes in the air, Liam made a mistake.
"Still not used to this smaller body", Liam muttered, explaining that he hadn't intended to dress as a girl. However, Hermione convinced him that a girl's appearance would make the enemies less vigilant and help them blend in. This time, they chose the hair of two orphans from the world of The Lord of the Rings, opting for a younger age to reduce their size and make them harder to hit, while still being effective in combat. Gill, on the other hand, used the Wraiths' ability to change her hair color and facial features, transforming into the appearance of a young Bear Mormont.
A few minutes later, the reconnaissance results were in. Apart from some simple magical defenses, there were no complex traps like those in the Manor they currently resided in, nor was there any Fidelius Charm. This made sense, as this was just an outer outpost for the Death Eaters, not a place where Voldemort himself would be.
With this information, the task became simpler. After quietly disabling the external magical defenses without alerting the occupants inside, Liam and the others determined that two Death Eaters were on the second floor. They chose the nearest window as their entry point, with Rose Crystal and Gill keeping watch outside.
Climbing onto the roof, Liam and Hermione shared a smile and used the Grapple Hooks on their wrists to secure themselves to the sturdy rain gutter. They then slowly descended to the two windows on either side of the house. After communicating with the Phoenix Mark, they simultaneously kicked through the glass windows and attacked the unprepared Death Eaters with their swords.
The bearded Death Eater Liam faced tried to raise his wand in defense, but his movements were too slow. Liam's Blade of the Enemy sliced through his wand and his skull with the ease of a hot knife through butter. At the same moment, Hermione's rapier pierced the left eye of the other Death Eater, the blade protruding from the back of his skull.
Wizards instinctively cast a magical shield when subjected to sudden physical attacks. Like how Neville, as a child, fell from a building and flew halfway down the street without a scratch, this is why ordinary firearms are ineffective against wizards. Only when a young wizard's magical power is insufficient can they be injured by firearms.
However, such defenses are useless against carefully crafted alchemical weapons. Thus, the two Death Eaters were now lying dead on the floor. Liam began to clean up the bodies, while Hermione went to calm the hostages.
Hermione soon discovered the Death Eaters' despicable actions: she found multiple traces of the Cruciatus Curse on several South Asian Muggle illegal immigrant children and women.
In addition to these poor Muggles, Liam and the others also encountered Florian Forsyth and his Squib wife in the house. Both of them were quite injured. According to Florian, he was kidnapped for criticizing the Death Eaters' Pureblood ideology. Upon learning they had been rescued, the Forsyths' first reaction was to leave the country as quickly as possible. However, they were unsure where to go, as Voldemort's followers had also begun to appear on the European Continent, and they didn't want to be kidnapped again.
"You can hide in Norway for a while", Liam said, pulling out an illegal Portkey that led to a plantation in Northern Norway. As Werewolves who were always marginalized by mainstream society, they never trusted the Ministry of Magic. Thus, they created a series of illegal items for escape, including this belt buckle with a wolf's head, which was given to Liam.
After watching the Forsyths successfully transfer, Liam and the others prepared to evacuate the kidnapped Muggles. At that moment, Rose Crystal sent an urgent notification: three Death Eaters were approaching, identified by their black robes and silver masks.
"Rose Crystal, you and Gill protect the hostages inside. Hermione and I will go out and intercept them." After issuing the command through their Soul Link, Liam and Hermione drew the wands they had previously confiscated and rushed out to block the three approaching Death Eaters.
However, upon seeing someone intercepting them, the Death Eaters changed their tactics. The two Death Eaters on the sides engaged Liam and Hermione, while the central one, the leader, broke through the interception and rushed toward the building. The leader realized that Liam and the others had come out to protect the building behind them, so he decided to use his companions as pawns to strike at Liam's weak point.
In the first exchange, Liam discovered that the Death Eater assigned to him was likely one of Voldemort's new recruits after his resurrection, and his skill level was not high. Hermione faced a similar situation. As they worried about the hostages inside the building, a large cloud of fog suddenly enveloped the entire structure.
Through the Soul Link, Liam learned from Rose Crystal that the fog was Gill's doing, and she was now evenly matched with the Death Eater. Calmed by this information, Liam and Hermione spent three minutes each using a Fireball Spell and a Blood Spear to finish off their opponents. In reality, these two Death Eaters were not that weak, but neither the Aurors nor the Order of the Phoenix often used lethal means. This was their first time facing Liam's deadly attacks, and they were easily overwhelmed.
Just as they were about to help Gill, a silver light flashed, and the Death Eater burst out of the fog. The severed silver mask revealed the left half of her face: Bellatrix.
To their surprise, the half of her face that was exposed was full of terror, and she had several bleeding wounds. After breaking out of the fog, Bellatrix immediately Apparated away before Liam and the others could react. The fog then slowly dissipated, and Rose Crystal and Gill appeared on the roof.
What could have happened to make such a notoriously cruel Death Eater so afraid? It all started a few minutes earlier. When Rose Crystal saw a Death Eater charging forward with a menacing air, she initially planned to intercept him. However, Gill volunteered to help her mother deal with the enemy. Sensing that Gill was not weak, Rose Crystal let her take the lead.
Gill did not disappoint Rose Crystal's trust. She glanced up at the starry night sky and took a step forward. Immediately, a large amount of fog emerged from around her, enveloping the entire roof and the Death Eater who had transformed into black mist and flown up upon seeing her.
Looking at the Death Eater who raised his wand at her, Gill muttered to herself, "Whitechapel, what a nostalgic place."
