Chapter 484: The Seventh Morphology (Part 1)
Chapter 484: The Seventh Morphology (Part 1)
Blade Guild’s Rampant Gale, Moonlight Ascends with Cold Light.
Just now, Lute had barely begun recovering from Chi Tie’s previous strike when Wu Dao Ke suddenly launched a surprise attack from behind—perfect timing.
The semi-solid metal suspended in the air was struck by a torrent of sword slashes, as dense as falling rain. Instantly overwhelmed, it shattered into metallic droplets, scattering across the ground like crimson rain.
Wu Dao Ke hadn’t finished his move. Maintaining his guard, he leapt backward several meters, pulling a pineapple-shaped golden object from his satchel. With a loud throw, he shouted, “Watch out!”
That warning was undoubtedly aimed at Chi Tie.
Chi Tie, ever vigilant, immediately realized Wu Dao Ke’s intent. Though gravely injured, his speed hadn’t diminished. Planting one foot, he twisted his body sideways, vanishing like a gust of wind and reappearing ten meters away in a flash.
At that moment, the object Wu Dao Ke had thrown landed squarely into the pool of liquid metal.
[Name: Holy Grenade (Holy_Grenade)]
[Type: Consumable]
[Quality: Fine]
[Special Effect: Generates a powerful, stable explosive attack]
[Background: One of the most devastating weapons from the Worms World (Te55'5 W0rM). The Holy Grenade does not bounce off physical surfaces nor is it affected by wind resistance. It detonates after a three-second delay, creating a twelve-meter radius explosion with no shrapnel. All explosive force is contained within the blast zone.]
“Haaa~llelujah~” The grenade emitted a bizarre, choir-like chorus of voices just before detonating—a full gospel choir belting out the word with dramatic flair.
Boom!
White light erupted. The entire area where Lute stood was swallowed by a blinding sphere of destruction.
The explosion faded as quickly as it came, leaving behind a semi-circular crater. Lute had vanished as if evaporated.
“This time, she can’t possibly regenerate…” Zui Wo Chang Ran muttered, observing from a distance.
During the earlier chaos, Zui Wo Chang Ran had taken a moment to stabilize his injuries. Now, the dozens of wounds inflicted by Kai Duo’s blades had finally stopped bleeding.
“Don’t get complacent yet. There are still five of them left.” Hong Hu nocked an arrow, fixing his gaze on the five Level-3 Derivative Beings returning to the battlefield.
“Tianma Liuxing Fist!” Tian Ma Xing Kong roared, charging forward first. With Kai Duo and Lute’s overwhelming speed earlier, he’d struggled to find an opening. Now, finally, he could unleash his full power.
“Not so fast!” Kai Duo’s voice cut through the air, followed instantly by his supersonic twin blades, already descending upon them.
Clang!
Chi Tie intercepted Kai Duo again, his crimson battle aura reigniting. Blocking a dagger strike with one arm, he wiped blood from his lips with the other, growling, “Your opponent is me.”
“Foolish!” Kai Duo snarled, launching another ferocious assault. His twin blades slashed like a storm, relentless and fierce.
Kai Duo knew Chi Tie’s power was waning after Lute’s earlier onslaught. Victory was within reach.
But in that instant, two blurs of steel slashed in from the flanks, pinching him in a pincer formation.
“Brother Chan, your swordwork… feels a bit slow today.” Kuangzong Jianying quipped while parrying attacks, addressing Meng Jing Chan on the opposite side.
“Heh~” Meng Jing Chan replied, his right hand dancing with swordplay while his left held a beer bottle. Between belching and blocks, he slurred, “Just matching your pace, buddy…”
“Tch… More meddlers?” Kai Duo hadn’t anticipated two new elite adversaries.
These two wielded techniques on par with Zui Wo Chang Ran’s speed. One-on-one, Kai Duo would still dominate. But now, it was a three-way battle—Chi Tie, though wounded, plus two speed specialists. The odds had shifted to a stalemate.
As Kai Duo struggled, the five Derivative Beings faced their own crisis.
Hong Hu, Tian Ma Xing Kong, and Fei Chai Shu capitalized, launching a coordinated assault. Luminous Arrows, fist auras, and palm winds surged forward like a tidal wave.
The already wounded Derivative Beings were pushed back relentlessly, unable to mount a defense.
“No time to waste!” A crisp voice rang out as Xiao Wen Cang Tian strode forward. With a sweep of both hands, his [Heng Ba Qian Feng] technique surged forth like a landslide, obliterating the five Derivative Beings in a flash of white light.
“Looks like I won’t need to intervene after all…” Caibupainenotafraid remarked, arriving fashionably late.
Zui Wo Chang Ran exhaled in relief. “Phew… So now, we just eliminate that hobbit, and the crisis should—”
“Hey!” Tian Tian Gui Xiao’s voice suddenly echoed from the street’s edge, his face taut with urgency. “What are you all staring at?!”
His shout jolted everyone’s awareness.
“Could it be…?” Wu Dao Ke, closest to the explosion crater, rushed forward. Peering into the Holy Grenade’s impact zone, his expression darkened.
Within the crater’s cracks, metallic liquid still writhed.
“She’s alive still!” Wu Dao Ke raised his blade for another strike—
“Don’t use energy attacks!” Tian Tian Gui Xiao’s warning came too late. His distance prevented intervention.
Nine out of ten players would’ve used energy attacks against the liquid metal—few could perceive data forms like Gui Xiao.
Sure enough, Wu Dao Ke’s blade energy struck the metal pool.
The next second, the liquid seethed like boiling water, surging upward to reform a humanoid shape.
As Lute’s silhouette rose from the crater, the players’ hearts sank once more.
“I hate the Seventh Morphology…” Lute murmured, her tone disdainful. “So inconvenient…”
Before the words faded, she lunged at Wu Dao Ke with a single step.
Thud!
A clean strike. Wu Dao Ke’s head exploded like a watermelon under her punch.
“Huh… Your head armor was tougher than expected.” Lute stretched her fingers idly.
The Seventh Morphology had transformed her dramatically. Simply put: gigantism. Her height now neared 2.5 meters, retaining her original proportions but cloaked in mercury-like metallic sheen. Thick, callus-like metal plating armored her joints like natural armor.
“Monster! Face judgment!” Xiao Wen Cang Tian roared, seeing his comrade’s effortless demise. Charging forward like a meteor, he unleashed his Meteor Strike technique.
