Chapter 477: Ending the Journey
Chapter 477: Ending the Journey
"What's the situation now?" Liam asked Hermione as he was summoned by the Phoenix Mark. "I was in the middle of analyzing the fetal data we collected yesterday when you called me over."
"The emergency has already started; it's a premature birth." As they walked into the living room, Liam heard a desperate, agonized scream from upstairs. Rose Crystal, who had come with Liam, instinctively grabbed his pant leg. "Do human women always give birth this way?"
"No, this is a special case." Liam said, walking upstairs with them. Hermione, as a woman herself, felt a particular empathy for Bellatrix, who was enduring the pain of childbirth. She was now tightly pursing her lips.
When they reached the makeshift infirmary in the library, they saw Bellatrix convulsing on the bed like a fish out of water. They could hear the sound of her bones breaking. Even worse, Rosalie was becoming increasingly frantic from the sight of Bellatrix's massive blood loss.
"Binding Spell." Liam pushed open the door and used magic to restrain Rosalie, then asked Alice to help take her out. He then turned to Dr. Carlisle, who was in charge. "Is there anything I can help with?"
"The fetus is wrapped in something like vampire skin. We need to open it quickly." Carlisle, drenched in sweat, said with golden eyes full of urgency.
"Rose Crystal!" "Understood." Rose Crystal nodded and immediately flew over to Bellatrix's side, raising the Amethyst Greatsword. Hermione waved her wand, using the blood on the ground to pin down the struggling Bellatrix.
"Don't worry!" With her amber eyes, Rose Crystal looked around at the Cullens, whose eyes were a similar color, and then slashed Bellatrix's belly with the sword. She dropped the sword, which turned into light, and extended her small hand to lift out the infant, who was about the length of her chest.
"Such a beautiful baby girl." Rose Crystal held the baby up for Bellatrix to see. Hermione and Liam quickly came over to use magic to stabilize Bellatrix's life and to check on Renesmee.
"Good news, the infant is partially alive. She won't become a Bloodthirsty Child. It's time." Liam turned to Edward, who immediately pulled out a syringe filled with his venom from a drawer and injected it into Bellatrix's heart.
For the next day, Bellatrix underwent the transformation from human to vampire. Liam and Hermione stayed to observe the changes, using magic to monitor the transformation of two entirely different beings. Liam could feel the power of life and death in this transformation, which brought him closer to understanding the rules of transformation.
The Cullen family did not stop Liam's observations, as the wizards' use of magic provided the most accurate insights. They also did not consider the human-to-vampire transformation process to be something that needed to be kept secret.
Before Bellatrix's transformation was complete, Jacob visited once. The moment he saw the newborn, he was drawn to her. When he came to visit Bellatrix, Liam and the others learned that the newborn, Renesmee, was Jacob's imprinted mate.
Liam was quite shocked by this turn of events, but fortunately, Sam, upon learning that Renesmee was Jacob's imprinted mate, abandoned his hostile intentions, leading to an unprecedented truce between the local werewolves and vampires.
When Bellatrix finally woke up, Liam and the others returned to their temporary residence. They needed to quickly organize the large amount of data they had collected, especially the process of a human transforming into a vampire, which refined Liam's previous research on the transformation of different werewolf varieties and further optimized the technology's adaptability in different worlds.
After another two weeks, Liam and his team finally finished processing all the knowledge they had gained in this world. Beyond deepening their understanding of the rules, what made Liam the happiest was that he could now fulfill his promise to Lupin. So, Liam went to say goodbye to the vampires and werewolves.
When they greeted the Werewolf and went to meet the Cullen family, they just happened to see the entire family cultivating Dragonblood Fruit in the greenhouse, with Brie guiding them. As part of the pre-arranged plan, Brie would be living with the Cullen family from now on. This was a wonderful home for her, and the Cullen family also welcomed her as a new member.
"I think we might become true vegetarian vampires", Carlisle said with a smile. "Of course, that's a good thing."
Hermione, who was observant, noticed that Alice and the others seemed to have something on their minds while chatting. After repeated questioning, she learned that they had been hiding Renesmee's existence, but you can't keep a secret forever. The Cullen family was worried that the Volturi Clan might discover Renesmee.
"About that—" Liam thought for a moment and said, "After we leave, I'll have Rose Crystal check our old house every few days. If anything seems off, you can leave a message there, and I'll see it within three days and come over."
"Thank you so much." Carlisle looked visibly relieved. Through the Werewolf, the Cullen family had come to understand just how powerful the two wizards were. In a previous sparring session, Liam had controlled eight Werewolves within five minutes. At this level, even the entire Cullen family together wouldn't stand a chance against Liam. Having such a powerful ally in any future wars was undoubtedly a very encouraging prospect.
Due to their previous interactions and the help they provided to both races, the Cullen family and the Werewolves gifted them many things once they learned of Liam and Hermione's passion for knowledge, such as Werewolf fur and Vampire venom. They also assisted with numerous experiments, which resulted in significant gains for the two wizards.
After they packed up all their belongings, they locked the door of their wooden house in this world and returned to the Multiverse General Store. Liam knew that he had not altered much of the plot this time, as he was largely unaware of most of the storylines. The System only awarded him thirty Deviation Points for this journey.
However, Liam had no regrets. Aside from the valuable knowledge they had gained, which would significantly boost their strength, they had managed to fulfill their promise to Lupin in such a short time, which was a cause for celebration.
As a Muggle-born wizard, gaining influence in the wizarding world without the complex networks of Pureblood wizards was nearly impossible. Liam didn't want to resort to force against wizards who hadn't committed any crimes, as he didn't want to become like Voldemort. In this situation, having a force he could control was crucial.
The Study Group was a preparation, but it would take time for the students to grow. Until then, the only potential supporters besides the few reliable Muggle-born wizards in the store were the marginalized Werewolves. This was why Liam had invested so much effort into researching the Werewolves in Twilight. Fortunately, his efforts had paid off, allowing him to truly transform these Werewolves.
"Let's write to Norway now", Liam suggested at the lunch table after they returned to the Manor. "I think I can solve the furry issue for those Werewolves."
"Are you sure it will work? Even though they are all Werewolves, there should be some differences", Hermione, always meticulous, voiced her concerns about Liam's plan.
"Without practical experimentation, you can never be certain of the final outcome. No matter how thorough the theoretical analysis, it can't guarantee absolute success. However, I can assure you that even if it doesn't work, it won't be any worse than it is now", Liam said earnestly, looking into Hermione's eyes. "Of course, we'll clearly state the risks in the letter. The Werewolves are our allies, and we can't deceive them in this regard."
