Chapter 476: A Sneak Kiss on Voldemort
Chapter 476: A Sneak Kiss on Voldemort
Inside the Room of Requirement, Albert was recounting to Isabelle the events that transpired during the Easter dinner.
"As far as I know, there aren't many witches and wizards in the magical world who truly understand astrology. Real astrology is not like what we learned in Divination class. Astrologers usually need a lot of patience to observe the night sky," Albert explained.
Isabelle extended her fair-skinned hand, plucked a chocolate bean from the nearby Easter egg, and fed it to Albert.
"I only know that Centaurs are very skilled in astrology; they are the experts in that field," Albert said, retracting his paw that Isabelle had playfully swatted away. He then picked a chocolate bean from the Easter egg and held it to his lips, intending to feed it to Isabelle mouth-to-mouth.
"It seems you already have your answer," Isabelle said with a giggle as she playfully pushed Albert's face away.
"Yes, I think it's highly likely that the prophecy will come true," Albert said, opting to feed her by hand this time, to which Isabelle didn't object.
"Don't you also have the ability to make prophecies?" Isabelle asked, not forgetting Albert's talent in that area.
"I suppose so," Albert admitted.
He pointed to his lips and said, "Let me tell you what I prophesied."
"Actually, even without you saying it, I have a feeling that the mysterious person will make a comeback soon," Isabelle said, unable to hold back a burst of laughter. She then leaned in and kissed Albert's cheek.
Sometimes, she felt that some of Albert's actions were a bit childish, but she didn't dislike him for it. Perhaps, this was what being in love felt like! "Your intuition is really accurate!" Albert exclaimed.
"Is it really the mysterious person?"
"Yes, the mysterious person," Albert sighed. "I saw a green mist floating above Hogwarts Castle. It was the mark of a huge serpent emerging from a skull's mouth."
"The Dark Mark?" Isabelle was startled by Albert's description.
"Yes, the Dark Mark," Albert said self-deprecatingly. "It's said that whenever a Death Eater kills someone, they leave the Dark Mark above the corpse or the house. So, I'm certain that the Second Wizarding War will be related to this mysterious person."
"If, I mean, if the Second Wizarding War really breaks out, are you willing to leave Britain and live temporarily in another country with me?" Isabelle asked, her eyes fixed on Albert's as she voiced her concern.
"They've said something similar to me as well," Albert replied with a grin. "By the way, I told them about us. Guess what they said?"
"You still haven't answered my question," Isabelle persisted, her eyes locked on his.
"They suggested that I marry you right after graduation and then move abroad to avoid this impending Wizarding War," Albert shared, noticing that Isabelle's expression didn't change at all when he mentioned marriage. He was a bit taken aback, thinking that his girlfriend was indeed a tough cookie! He had expected her to blush or show some sign of shyness at the mention of marriage, but she seemed completely unfazed. It was almost disappointing how un-cute she was being.
Any typical girl would have blushed crimson at the mere suggestion. Even if the couple had initially started dating with marriage in mind, there should still be some reaction, right?
In fact, Isabelle used to blush in the early days of their courtship, but after being taken advantage of countless times by Albert and gradually accepting her own identity, she wasn't about to let him have his way this time. Instead, she left him feeling a little dejected.
"Actually, someone asked me about this a long time ago," Isabelle said, sharing some information that Albert was unaware of.
Uncle McDougal had inquired about her feelings for Albert quite early on.
Isabelle recalled how the man's face lit up when she told him that she was dating Albert.
The two of them had long suspected that the Wildsmiths were intentionally trying to matchmake them, but their methods were subtle and discreet. However, their efforts couldn't escape the notice of these two clever individuals.
Especially when Isabelle frankly confessed that they would be getting married, the expression on McDougal's face was absolutely priceless.
Not long ago, McDougal had written her a letter, mentioning that he had prepared a new house for the two of them by the seaside in Australia.
"So, they're all better actors than I thought, and I was completely fooled," Albert said, staring at Isabelle in disbelief.
"Only McDougal knows that he wants us to temporarily reside in Australia," Isabelle sighed.
"At that time, I already guessed that something unpleasant might happen," Isabelle added.
Indeed, why would they need to go far away to Australia if nothing bad was going to happen?
"The Second Wizarding War will indeed break out, but I don't plan on leaving Britain," Albert stated, and his response didn't surprise Isabelle in the least.
As intelligent as she was, Isabelle understood Albert's character very well.
Both of them shared similar personalities and approaches to life. If Albert's family remained in Britain, Isabelle wouldn't leave her own mother and sister behind either.
"Never mind, let me tell you my prediction, but remember to keep it a secret!" Albert said as he reached out and caressed Isabelle's head, which was resting on his shoulder. "I have a feeling that the Second Wizarding War won't last too long."
Isabelle tilted her head back to look up at Albert, listening quietly as he continued.
"For me, this is probably a good opportunity, and I won't give up or run away from it easily," Albert asserted.
"Because of Potter?" Isabelle asked.
"Yes."
"Is he really the savior?"
"Even if Potter isn't the savior, there will be people pushing him down that path," Albert said calmly. "To be honest, I don't have much confidence in Potter, but I have a lot of faith in Headmaster Dumbledore. He truly is a wise and resolute old man. In fact, someone like him is a bit scary."
"Isn't it a bit early to be talking about this? I think the war won't break out that quickly," Isabelle said, voicing her skepticism.
"Yes, it won't happen within the next four or five years at least," Albert agreed.
"It's strange that the mysterious person hasn't died yet. I think Headmaster Dumbledore must have been researching him for several years. If that person goes up against the Headmaster, they're in for some bad luck," Albert said, his face suddenly taking on a strange expression.
"Do you know something about this?" Isabelle asked, her eyes narrowing.
"Yes, I've guessed quite a bit. If you've noticed some things, you might be able to guess as well," Albert admitted.
"I hope you won't dig any deeper into this. You're too adventurous for your own good. This is undoubtedly a dangerous matter," Isabelle said, her eyes fixed on Albert with concern. "Let the Headmaster and Savior Potter deal with that Dark wizard, okay?"
"Of course, the Dark Lord should be left to Savior Potter to handle," Albert agreed calmly. "I value my life and know how to protect it."
"That's good," Isabelle said with a satisfied nod. However, when she saw Albert leaning in close, she asked, "What are you doing?"
"Didn't you say that my kissing technique is lacking?" Albert whispered. "Maybe we should take this opportunity to practice and improve our skills."
