"Greetings, Shishu. I welcome your return," Lu Chen said, bowing respectfully.
"The task I undertook went rather smoothly, which is why I'm back earlier than expected," Cangwu Zhenren explained.
"During this period, you've worked hard to take care of the spirit beasts in the blessed land," Lu Chen said gratefully.
"It's my duty, and I also had the help of Sun Yun and the others," Lu Chen replied humbly.
A hint of appreciation flashed in Cangwu Zhenren's eyes.
"I'm already aware of everything you've done, Shizi," he said. Cangwu Zhenren had already learned about Lu Chen's actions in the blessed land from Sun Yun and the others. From their accounts, it was clear that they held Lu Chen in high regard.

"Just lie down and rest," Lu Chen said in a low voice.
"What happened? How did you end up like this? Is it serious?" Lu Chen asked.
"It's not extremely serious, but it's not minor either," Baili Jianqing replied.
"The insidious evil aura invaded my body, and I barely managed to drag myself back to the sect. A fellow disciple who's a pill refiner gave me this salve to suppress the spread of the evil aura, but I reckon it'll take some time to fully recover."
"At least I managed to keep my life," he added, still shaken by the experience.
"Tell me what happened," Lu Chen said, sitting in a wooden chair beside the bed and listening intently.
"After we entered the Black Devil Abyss secret realm, we decided to venture deeper to compete for better treasures. Unexpectedly, a large number of powerful evil beings suddenly emerged within the secret realm," Baili Jianqing explained.
"We encountered one with hundreds of heads and eight sharp claws. The wound on my chest was left by that beast."
"That evil being had strength no weaker than a late-stage Foundation Establishment cultivator. As soon as we met it, one of our junior sisters was directly cut down."
