Just as Victoria thought she could escape again, she saw the two peculiar humans standing by the tent smile at her. She immediately sensed something was wrong. Before she could react, a flash of purple light darted past her eyes, and then everything went dark.
From Edward's perspective, he saw Victoria flee into the woods. Suddenly, a Puppet holding a large sword descended from a tree and plunged the sword directly into Victoria's head, the entire blade sinking into her skull. The crystal sword then glowed, and Victoria's upper body exploded, sending countless white, stone-like fragments flying everywhere.
"Truly terrifying", Edward muttered to himself. He realized that this purple-clad Puppet was indistinguishable from the surrounding rocks and trees in a vampire's perception. If such a powerful Puppet were to ambush them, Edward doubted any vampire could withstand such a lethal strike. The only comfort he had was that this Puppet and its companions were allies and on their side.
Next came the cleanup. Liam waved his wand, causing all the vampire fragments to gather together. Then, Hermione cast a Fire Charm, setting the pile of fragments ablaze.
"Don't worry, every fragment has been collected", Liam assured Edward. The flames rose into the air, forming a purple smoke column that looked like a solid statue. The smell was like burning incense, making them feel uncomfortable. The thick smoke made it hard to breathe for those standing by the fire.
The group smiled, and Edward went over to flirt with Bellatrix. Seth grinned, revealing a row of dagger-like teeth, and nudged Liam and Hermione's hands with his nose, much like people celebrating by high-fiving.
However, just as they began to relax, Seth sensed the Volturi Guard approaching. As a werewolf, he had to leave quickly. Liam and Hermione, carrying Bellatrix and Edward, flew toward the clearing where the main battle had taken place.
"Thank you very much, but if they discover humans—"
"Our magic can conceal our presence. You don't need to worry; they won't find us", Liam said. "If it comes to a fight, we might even be able to help."
When they returned to the clearing, a large bonfire was burning, sending thick, dark purple smoke into the sky. The Cullen family members were tossing white fragments into the fire. Surprisingly, there was now an additional vampire in the clearing: a small girl with black hair, a slender build, and bright red eyes that were wildly spinning, completely out of control.
"She surrendered", Edward said calmly, noticing Liam and the others looking at her. "But if she can't control herself, we'll have to destroy her."
"You can't train her in such a short time, and the Volturi are on their way. Her fate is sealed", Liam said, noting how the vampire freshman became more agitated upon smelling Bellatrix's scent. "We'll take her with us to avoid a confrontation with the Volturi."
"Alright, but can you really control her? These freshmen are inexperienced, but their strength is at its peak right now", Carlisle said, concerned. However, his worry eased when he saw Liam turn the vampire freshman into a motionless stone statue.
Liam and Hermione quickly flew into the woods with the vampire freshman, while Rose Crystal, for everyone's safety, pretended to be a regular Puppet doll and let Bellatrix hold her in her arms.
"Saving her is heartening. She's so young, hasn't taken any lives, and can even suppress her bloodlust to show a bit of kindness. Such a being is worth saving", Hermione said on the way. "Do you have any way to stop her from attacking others?"
"It’s simple, just meditate", Liam replied. "We can try to help the Vampire attune to nature, which should help suppress her bloodlust."
Liam and the others brought the Vampire to the outskirts of the Quileute werewolf territory and set up camp in a forest. Sam, the Werewolf Leader, came to check on them. He wasn’t particularly fond of having a Vampire so close, but he allowed it, given how much Liam had helped them. He did, however, warn them not to let the Vampire enter their territory.
Not long after, Rose Crystal returned. She informed Liam that everything was fine on their end, but the Volturi Clan was pressuring Bellatrix to turn into a Vampire as soon as possible.
Over the following days, Liam and Hermione continued their research on the secrets of Vampires and Werewolves while training the Vampire Freshman. They learned that the girl’s name was Bri.
The training proved effective. After just a week, Bri had learned to control her urge for fresh blood. Liam believed that the Dragonblood Fruit had played a significant role in this.
This special fruit resembled a tomato but contained a liquid that was infused with a trace of Dragon Blood energy. Liam had initially asked Dave to study these fruits after returning from the Radiation World, with the goal of finding a sufficient blood source for injured warriors. However, as Liam’s own powers grew, he attempted to cultivate plants that could produce Dragon Blood. This attempt failed, as the plants that did grow contained genuine Dragon Blood, and the cost of cultivating them was far higher than the cost of Dragon Blood itself. Through continuous selection, Liam eventually cultivated a new variety of plants that produced fruits with only a small amount of Dragon Blood energy. The juice from these fruits could be used as an additive in potions to enhance their effects.
Bri’s first meal as a Vampire was a Dragonblood Fruit. After eating just one, she said she felt completely full. More surprisingly, her attraction to both animal and human blood had significantly diminished. According to her, if the Dragonblood Fruit was a Michelin three-star meal, then human blood was like a home-cooked meal, and animal blood was merely a piece of dry bread.
So, in the days that followed, Bri focused on mastering her new body while also learning how to cultivate Dragonblood Fruit. Fortunately, Liam had significantly reduced the effect of the Dragonblood Fruit, making it possible to grow these fruits in worlds lacking supernatural power.
This also helped Liam understand why Bellatrix’s blood was so appealing to Vampires: Bellatrix had been immune to Vampire attacks even before she became a Vampire. After her transformation, she immediately became one of the most powerful Vampires, meaning her blood contained far more energy than that of an ordinary human. This made it naturally alluring to Vampires. Similarly, the Dragonblood Fruit contained enough energy to attract Vampires.
Under Sam’s leadership, the Quileute werewolves continued to visit to learn how to communicate with nature. They expressed genuine admiration for how Liam and his group managed to make a Vampire Freshman non-aggressive in such a short time. However, they noticed that Jacob was absent from their frequent visits.
"He was injured and needs time to heal", the youngest werewolf, Seth, pointed to his heart and told Liam. "Jacob told Bellatrix he had given up. Love, you know—"
Well, if this story is summed up, it’s a tale of a love slave who ends up with nothing. Truly a sad story.
