Chapter 474: Slaying the Dragon (Part 1)
Chapter 474: Slaying the Dragon (Part 1)
As Feng Bu Jue temporarily withdrew from the battlefield, a world-shattering clash erupted beneath the Explosive Tunnel.
Watching the lord of demons slowly raise his right arm, Lute remained expressionless, her voice calm. "An irrational combative being like you is actually revered as a deity?"
"Laughable words", the demon lord scoffed. "True divinity is inherently transcendent. What moral standards or reasoning those creatures crushed beneath my feet possess is irrelevant to me. Divine will is truth, divine actions are principle. Where lies the irrationality?" His right index finger extended sharply, a razor-like black flame erupting from its tip toward Lute.
This strike surpassed even Y2-Shining’s ultimate light beam attack by over threefold. Though Lute braced herself, the infernal torrent left her momentarily paralyzed, taking the full brunt of the blow.
"The realms of those otherworld travelers are built on lies", the demon lord intoned, observing Lute engulfed in flames. "Faith grants fragile, lost souls a false sense of safety. Thus, they invented religions, invented gods. But these are nothing but self-deception—illusions of righteousness born from hypocrisy, mere struggles for authority."
The flames dissipated. Lute’s voice emerged again, steady as ever. "So… your meaning is that morality itself is subjective—rendering 'ideals' meaningless?" Her mercury-like body, partially liquefied by the attack, began solidifying anew. "All becomes chaos. Only strength remains real. Thus… the strong become gods."
"Hehehe…" The demon lord’s four malevolent eyes gleamed with anticipation. "Excellent. Now, I offer you two choices: first, leave my territory. Second… disappear."
Your arrogance is equally amusing", Lute countered, fully restored and unscathed. "Though my power here is restricted… you’ve clearly overestimated your own capabilities." Her gaze sharpened. "What delusion makes you believe yourself superior?"
Before her words could settle, a brilliant beam of light erupted skyward, enveloping the demon lord in radiance.
——
Far away, another battlefield.
"That light…" D1-Long’s amber eyes narrowed as he gazed toward the heavens.
"Finally begun, has it?" he mused, his thoughts interrupted by Brahma’s sudden aerial assault. A spiraling vortex of energy coalesced in Brahma’s palm. "Let’s see how you handle this, you overgrown lizard!"
Though surrounded, D1-Long’s expression remained composed.
"Hmph?" The dragon’s eyes flicked toward the descending figure. "Risen again, have you?" With a casual sweep of his hand, a flame barrier erupted midair, forcing Brahma into a hasty retreat.
"Too strong… Not a single flaw", Vishnu observed from a distance, his body already bearing wounds from prior clashes. "Even when we fought that brat last time… numbers meant nothing."
"This can’t continue", Yama muttered, lashing out with her whip from a safe distance. "We’ll have to use it."
Suddenly decisive, she retreated dozens of meters, scaling a nearby structure with agile leaps to reach a vantage point.
"Boss!" she shouted.
The Gods’ long-standing synergy required no words. As Yama prepared their trump card, Shiva’s gaze swept Brahma and Vishnu. They nodded in unison.
The trio scattered, launching synchronized attacks.
"Another feeble assault?" D1-Long watched coldly. To him, their efforts were mere annoyances. The only reason he prolonged this conflict was to capture the players alive. Ending this would take less than a minute.
"Your arrogance ends here!" Brahma roared, channeling his title ability.
At five meters from the dragon, he raised his arms skyward, palms open, slamming them down into the earth.
Boom! The Seismic Mine struck not the dragon, but the ground itself, a high-accuracy technique near-impossible to evade. D1-Long staggered as seismic force surged through his body, akin to crashing from great heights.
Yet his childlike frame proved advantageous—low center of gravity, minimal mass—allowing recovery with just a half-step backward.
"Hmph… still mere—" The word died on his lips as a black shadow lunged.
Vishnu’s bronze-forged fist, massive as an elephant’s hoof, descended. Simultaneously, Shiva vanished in a blur, reappearing at the dragon’s flank.
"Attempting direct contact?" D1-Long asked, turning toward the shadow beside him. Shiva’s disheveled bangs couldn’t hide his beast-like eyes.
"Feels a bit hot, doesn’t it?" Shiva hissed, latching onto the dragon’s shoulder. A sizzling sound erupted—his hand smoked like meat on a skillet, his sleeve igniting instantly.
"Feels like molten lava…" Shiva growled, staring into the demon’s eyes. "What a rare experience."
"Tch… typical self-sabotage", D1-Long scoffed, casually batting Shiva away like a fly.
Vishnu seized the opening, driving his bronze fist forward.
"One finger would suffice—" The dragon’s boast cut short as an odd sound echoed.
Thud! D1-Long hurtled skyward like a struck baseball.
"Weightless Touch?" he muttered bitterly. Shiva’s technique had nullified his control, sending him airborne.
"These three… sacrificing themselves to launch me skyward…?" The dragon grimaced, scanning below.
There—Yama’s silhouette emerged.
