Chapter 473: A Different Kind of Fire Magic (1/1)
Chapter 473: A Different Kind of Fire Magic (1/1)
"Aquaria, what's wrong with you? I told you to push the ship to the port, not to wash me away with it!"
Lucy, dressed in a purple gown, struggled to pull her head out of the sand, fuming as she glared at the blue-haired mermaid floating in the air.
The blue-haired mermaid, holding a bottle, completely ignored Lucy's question and sighed instead.
"Oops, I guess I pushed the ship away too."
"You did that on purpose, didn't you!"
Lucy was so angry that her hair was almost smoking.
The mermaid named Aquaria turned around with a smug look on her face.
"Don't summon me for a while. I'm going on a one-week trip with my boyfriend, my boyfriend!"
She deliberately emphasized the word "boyfriend" before dissipating into stardust, leaving Lucy nearly at her wits' end.
"Lucy, was that one of your Zodiac Spirits?"
At that moment, a familiar voice came from behind her. Lucy turned around to see Jerry, the handsome and wealthy young man with a keen interest in magic.
"That was Aquaria of the Water Bearer, Jerry. What are you doing here?"
"Oh, I'm staying at that hotel. I just happened to see you and Happy being washed ashore by the seawater. By the way, why were you and Happy together? What happened?"
Jerry pointed to the luxurious hotel behind him, explaining. He was also struck by the realization that it must have been a Zodiac Spirit, no wonder her magic power was so strong.
Hearing Jerry's words, Lucy inwardly marveled at how wealthy Jerry was, staying at the most expensive hotel in the port, which cost five thousand per night. She then briefly recounted the events leading up to this moment.
It turned out that after parting ways with Jerry earlier in the day, Lucy had encountered the "Fire Dragon" again. The Fire Dragon claimed to be a mage from Fairy Tail and invited her to a cruise party in the evening.
At first, she had refused, but he told her that if she attended, he would introduce her to Fairy Tail. Fairy Tail was the guild she most wanted to join, so she couldn't resist the temptation and agreed.
What Lucy never expected was that the Fire Dragon, a mage from the prestigious Fairy Tail, had invited her and the other girls to the party not just to satisfy his vanity, but to use a sleep spell to incapacitate them and sell them as slaves in Bosco.
Unfortunately, her Spirit Key was also stolen during the attack and thrown into the sea.
Without her Spirit Key, a Celestial Spirit Mage was no different from an ordinary person and was no match for the Fire Dragon and his followers.
Fortunately, Natsu and Happy appeared suddenly. Natsu held off the enemies while Happy, using his innate flying magic, helped her escape from the ship.
However, Happy's magic power was low, and carrying Lucy was too much for him. They hadn't flown far before his magic power was exhausted, and both of them fell into the sea.
But this also allowed her to find her Spirit Key again.
So, she summoned her strongest Spirit, Aquaria, to push the ship ashore, leading to the current situation.
Just as Lucy finished her story, the Fire Dragon and his followers, along with Natsu, emerged from the ship on the shore and stood facing them.
"Fine, let's see what you're made of!"
Jerry stood beside Lucy, showing no intention of joining the fight.
Natsu possessed two sources of magic power, one of which was nearly as strong as his own. Jerry wanted to see just how powerful Natsu really was.
Having strong magic power didn't necessarily mean having strong combat skills. Just like Dave in the Mage Apprentice world, who inherited Merlin's immense magic power but was just an ordinary person before he learned how to use it.
“Natsu!”
Lucy, having summoned her strongest Zodiac Spirit, Aquaria, had completely drained her magic power and was now unable to help. All she could do was show a worried expression.
The main issue was that Natsu had just landed on the large ship and immediately started vomiting, looking anything but strong.
At that moment, the little blue cat Happy, who had first swallowed a belly full of seawater and then been buried halfway in the sand, finally recovered. Happy happily hugged a fish that had been washed ashore and comforted everyone:
“Don’t worry, I forgot to tell you, Natsu is a very powerful mage!”
As Happy spoke, Natsu, standing on the ship, took off his coat, revealing a special red tattoo on his shoulder:
“I’m Natsu from Fairy Tail. Why have I never seen you before?”
“Master Bora, look at the mark on his shoulder. He’s the real deal.”
One of the Fire Dragons’ subordinates, seeing the mark on Natsu’s shoulder, screamed in terror.
Now the impostor had met the real deal, and the deception was completely exposed.
“Bora, Bora of Red Sky, he was expelled from the mage guild Giants’ Nose a few years ago and is now impersonating a Fairy Tail mage.”
Happy, stuffing the fish into his bag, explained.
Jerry had just arrived in this world and naturally didn’t know who Bora was. Lucy was a bit better off, but she had only recently run away from home to start her adventures and hadn’t joined a guild yet, so she was also unaware of such secrets.
Only Happy, despite being a little cat, had years of experience on missions with Natsu and knew the most.
“Alright, no wonder that Fire Dragon had so little magic power. He was a fraud.”
Hearing Happy’s explanation, Jerry finally understood why a well-known mage was weaker than Lucy, a novice mage who hadn’t even joined a mage guild.
It wasn’t that the mages of this world were weak; they had simply encountered a fraud.
At that moment, Natsu began to fight Bora and his group of subordinates.
“Interesting, magic can be used like this!”
Jerry, witnessing his first proper mage battle in this world, couldn’t help but be impressed.
Bora’s subordinates were typical low-level mages, capable of casting a few Fireballs with their limited magic power. Natsu didn’t even need to use magic; with his sheer physical strength, he could take them down with a single punch each.
However, Bora, the expelled mage, was more interesting.
Jerry could sense that Bora was concentrating all his magic power into one of his rings and using the ring’s magic array to release waves of violet flames.
These violet flames not only burned and attacked but also had a physical impact, like a whip, capable of flinging people away and even allowing Bora to move and dodge in mid-air.
Jerry was also skilled in flame magic, capable of casting powerful spells like Inferno Spell, Fire God’s Path, and his own creation, the Dragonfire Spell.
In terms of power, his spells were far superior to Bora’s, not even in the same league.
However, the Fire Dragons conjured by his Dragonfire Spell couldn’t carry anyone in the air; they would burn to ashes.
