Chapter 472: Elemental Master (Major Chapter)
Yet, the Ascension of his level was merely the least impressive gain from his journey through the Elemental Plane of Fire. Even without the Red Dragon killing those Giants, the Experience Points (XP) provided by the Players would have been enough for him to ascend within half a year—merely a matter of time and inevitability.
But the true treasure of this expedition was the consumption of Ismael’s Divine-like Essence, the raw Elemental Energy within him. According to Kai Xiusu’s suspicion, this power had originally been reserved by the Fire Titan Great Sultan as material for his own Deification Preparation—only for Kai Xiusu to accidentally consume it prematurely.
Ascend to Divinity—such a grand and widespread aspiration. Such ambitions were far from rare among the Evil-leaning Powers of Alerzage. Take, for instance, the Gisgyki Ruler of the Stellar Realm, the mighty Lich—Vilagis 157th, who had devoured the Strength and Spiritual Souls of high-ranking Gis-Yangki, repurposing them as Wish-Granting components in pursuit of godhood. Most Gis-Yangki above the rank of Centurion had their Spiritual Souls drained, left only as hollow shells obedient to Vilagis’s commands.
Compared to that, the Fire Titan Great Sultan—though he had only turned six of his Loyal Direct Servants into sacrificial material—was practically a benevolent ruler.
And yet, even though this was merely one-sixth of the total Strength, it was the culmination of millennia of meticulous cultivation by the Great Sultan. The power contained within it far exceeded Kai Xiusu’s wildest expectations.
Had it not been for the Holy Flame Prince’s rebellion, the Great Sultan would have descended in his True Form to face him—no quarter, no mercy.
Kai Xiusu understood why the Great Sultan had been so enraged, even to the point of nearly losing his reason.
More than a month had passed since Kai Xiusu returned from the Elemental Plane of Fire, yet the Strength still surged within his abdomen, refusing to be fully digested.
It was a strange sensation—like a Fire Titan Noble screaming, roaring, and resisting the Red Dragon’s transformation from within his core.
But alas, the Ancestral Dragon’s body, already saturated with Essence, held that power locked away with iron grip. Any attempt at rebellion was utterly futile.
“Semi-Divine Power…”
“Hmm… it’s almost as if it has a will of its own.”
With a hissing ssssss, the final remnants of the Fire Giant’s Spirit Essence were devoured by the Ancestral Dragon’s terrifying magical digestion.
That crimson energy surged through the Red Dragon’s entire being, flowing through his Basal Vessels back to his heart—then violently pumped out to every extremity: from heart to throat, head, forelimbs, wing hands, hind legs, all the way to the tip of his tail.
“Roar—!”
The Red Dragon couldn’t help but lift his head, unleashing a thunderous, sky-splitting Long Roar.
With the sound, flaming meteors plummeted from the heavens, while massive storms of fire erupted across the earth.
Had these spells been unleashed freely, the result would have been utter devastation. But Kai Xiusu would not allow such chaos.
“Fire… obey my command.”
“Stop.”
He let out only a low, commanding growl—and the violent, surging flames instantly calmed, like sheep bowing to a shepherd. They dissipated without a trace.
This was the strength of [Authority].
As one of the Inner Planes that form the foundation of existence, the Elemental Plane of Fire was the origin, destination, and very essence of all fire. The Elemental Nobles were its rightful masters, and their Authority granted them control not only over the Plane itself—but the power to advance further, to dominate fire in the Material Plane.
To know the true ruler of the Elemental Plane of Fire—the Lord of Flames, Kasus, the Ever-Burning Fire—was to know a Power-ful Divine Power-level Deity.
In Kai Xiusu’s pale golden vertical pupils, crimson flames burned like molten fire. The Ravaging Flame Tongue curled around his head like a living halo.
> [You have fully consumed one fragment of Elemental Divine Power.]
> [Due to your mastery of Elemental Energy Authority, and your understanding of the universe’s natural forces, you have unlocked a new职业 path—[Elemental Master].]
> [To qualify as an Elemental Master, a Dragon must meet all of the following conditions.]
> Race: Any True Dragon.
> Specialization: Any three Super Breath Feats.
> Spell: Able to cast Arcane.
> Special: Elemental Concordance: The Dragon must possess Elemental Energy or an energy subtype—such as Wind, Cold, Earth, Electricity, Fire, or Water.
> Breath Weapon: The Dragon must have a Breath Weapon capable of Energy Damage.
>
> [You meet all requirements. Would you like to advance to [Elemental Master]?]
“New advancement class…”
“Elemental Master.”
Kai Xiusu’s eyes lit up. He had not expected this at all—after consuming the Fire Giant’s Strength, a surprise reward had followed.
This was a legendary Dragon profession from his Past Life. In the Silvermoon Bay region, there once lived a Water-Controlling Sea Drake, capable of summoning monstrous waves and whirlpools—on par with the West Sea’s Master. It had slaughtered countless Players attempting the Naga Kingdom Side Quest, leaving the sea surface littered with bloated, floating corpses.
Kai Xiusu continued scanning his Character Sheet, deepening his understanding.
> [ELEMENTAL MASTER]
> Dragons are beings forged from Primordial Elemental Force. Two powerful energies rage within their veins: the energy that drives their Breath Weapons, and the core Elemental Energy Essence that forms their very existence.
>
> The Elemental Master seeks perfect, pure harmony between these two forces.
>
> Almost exclusively True Dragons pursue this path, as it demands a deep connection to Elemental Energy and its various forms. Some Dragons take a few levels in other classes—typically Mage or Sorcerer—before advancing, but many do not.
>
> Elemental Masters are among the most solitary and reclusive of Dragons. They dedicate their Life Force to communing with the universe’s natural forces, rather than engaging with the life forms they regard as inferior.
>
> When they do collaborate, they choose Allies from the Elemental Planes—Elementals, or rare, younger Dragons of their own kind.
“An Elemental Energy Sorcerer version of Dragon advancement…” Kai Xiusu stroked his chin, paused for a moment, then made his decision.
A free Class Level? Why not take it?
Especially when he already held a portion of Elemental Divine Power. While becoming an Elemental Master might carry risks—energy instability, even bodily explosion—for a common Dragon, it was nothing but a smooth, inevitable progression for Kai Xiusu.
> [You have chosen to advance to [Elemental Master].]
> [The consumption of [Fire Titan Pasha Spirit Essence] has granted you a vast amount of exclusive Experience Points (XP). Your [Elemental Master] level has risen to 4.]
Now, Kai Xiusu’s career sheet displayed three distinct professions:
Sorcerer 16 / Elemental Master 4 / Bloodscaled Fury 3
In his Past Life, this was unparalleled—no Player had ever achieved such a feat. Only one reckless prankster had once foolishly maxed out four classes to level one, only to be cursed with stagnation afterward. Balance, after all, was the price of such absurdity.
But for Kai Xiusu, this was no issue—because the other two classes had been gifts.
“Nice home, multitasker, huh?” Kai Xiusu exhaled a plume of sulfur-scented white smoke, smirking.
Maybe, one day, he’d collect all Dragon class heritages?
The Character Sheet refreshed again.
> [Your Elemental Master level has increased to: 1]
> [You have gained the special abilities: [Elemental Mastery] and [Energy Attunement]]
Elemental Mastery (Element Mastery):
The Elemental Master gains enhanced coordination with the elemental subtype they are attuned to. As a Fire-subtype Dragon—including Red, Gold, Copper Dragons, and Infernal Wyverns—this grants mastery over Fire. If both Dragon and enemy are exposed to Fire, or use items, spells, or abilities with flaming or detonating effects, the Dragon gains powerful control over them.
Energy Attunement (Energy Attunement):
The Elemental Master harmonizes with the energy type that powers their Breath Weapon. Dragons with multiple Breath Weapons may choose one energy type—Acid, Cold, Electricity, Fire, or Sound Energy—to attune with, entering a state of [Elemental Energy Control], greatly enhancing breath precision.
“Both are damage amplification tools,” Kai Xiusu mused. “Useful, but for me, just icing on the cake.”
Still… it was free. And free was never wasted.
He opened his maw, exhaling a thin, delicate thread of fire. With effortless control, he wove it through the air like silk, forming intricate patterns. His entire body pulsed with flame-light.
This was [Energy Attunement]—granting a Dragon an almost supernatural level of breath control.
And given that he already possessed gear like the [Eye of the Storm Sovereign] and [Everfrost Horn], Kai Xiusu’s understanding of Lightning and Frost energy was already deep. He could already produce Lightning Breath—enough to qualify for [Energy Attunement] with those elements as well.
Kai Xiusu’s eyes flickered. Lightning, Frost, Fire—each surged in turn from his maw.
The Character Sheet refreshed again.
> [Your Elemental Master level has increased to: 2]
> [You have gained the special abilities: [Energy Substitution] and [Summon Elemental]]
Energy Substitution (Energy Substitution):
The Elemental Master can alter the energy description of their spells, causing them to use the energy type they are attuned to. The spell functions normally in every way except for the damage type.
Summon Elemental (Summon Elemental):
At level 2, once per day, the Elemental Master can use their Breath Weapon to summon a Medium-sized Elemental corresponding to their Elemental Energy subtype. The Dragon breathes as normal—but the Elemental Energy manifests after the breath.
The Dragon may choose to summon an Adult Arrowhawk (Wind or Cold), a Common Fire Lizard (Fire), an Adult Trogg Turtle (Water), or a Common Stone Golem (Earth).
Energy Substitution—a fascinating ability. Kai Xiusu fired a bolt of lightning, [Arcane Bolt], then activated [Energy Substitution].
Instantly, the lightning chain transformed into a blazing inferno, igniting the rock it struck, turning it black and charred.
Energy substitution—turning identical spells into different elemental forms, making it harder for enemies to anticipate or resist.
As for [Summon Elemental]? A free summoning spell. Of little use to Kai Xiusu.
After all, if he wished, he could summon a Fire Titan Noble capable of granting wishes—using the [Wish-Casting Candle] he had negotiated from the Great Sultan.
It was said that these Fire Titan Nobles dreaded the quest of helping the Empire of Ashen fulfill wishes. They feared being randomly selected—only to be doomed by bad luck. Yet they dared not refuse.
After all, the reputation of the “Soul-Eating Dragon” wasn’t just rumor. It was forged in blood—hundreds of Fire Giant citizens, two Emirs, and one Pasha sacrificed to the name.
> [Your Elemental Master level has increased to: 4]
> [You have gained the special abilities: [Energy Focus] and [Energy Burst]]
Energy Focus (Energy Focus):
The Elemental Master achieves an unparalleled mastery over a specific elemental energy. Their breath becomes unimaginably powerful.
Energy Burst (Energy Burst):
The Elemental Master can resonate with ambient Elemental Energy, creating a damaging burst of energy around themselves.
“Ah… now this is the real power,” Kai Xiusu murmured, eyes narrowing, steam puffing from his nostrils.
A surge of explosive power flooded his body, filling every inch of his Basal Vessels—like countless dormant Elemental Energy Bombs waiting to detonate.
The previous [Elemental Master] traits were formidable for ordinary Players or common Dragons. But for Kai Xiusu? They were merely convenient bonuses.
Now, [Energy Focus] and [Energy Burst]—these were the true game-changers.
> [Flame Dimension Gate]
The Red Dragon tore open space, leaving the Suburbs of Northwind Keep behind, arriving directly at the northernmost edge of Anzeta—the Karkhak Great Glacier.
The cold wind howled, icy spines piercing the air. Ice mountains gleamed under the sunlight, blinding in their brilliance.
This was once the ancestral home of the “Everfrost” tribe. Yet, after nearly ten thousand years of habitation, the Frost Giants had been wiped out—exterminated by the Red Dragon. Their legacy was looted, their survivors turned into Blood Slaves of the Empire.
Inside the ice caverns, decayed bone clubs and tattered animal hides remained—ghosts of their final days.
And the shattered glacier, the collapsed ice mountains, the broken snowfields—these bore witness to a war of cataclysmic scale. But most of it was buried beneath fresh snow.
“Glacier Annihilation War.”
“Six years have passed… already?”
Kai Xiusu stared at the ruins, his expression tinged with melancholy.
Six years—just a nap for an ordinary Dragon. But for him, it had been a lifetime.
“Boom!”
Far away, a massive, centipede-like creature burst from the ice layers, swallowing entire ice plains whole. With no Frost Giants to tame them, and the Empire neglecting this frozen wasteland, the Centipede Beasts had become the most feared predators here—unless a Player had taken the Ice Plains Hunt quest.
Kai Xiusu watched the creature’s newly formed cavern, then murmured:
“Then let me test this new power of the Elemental Master.”
The Red Dragon effortlessly climbed to the summit of the great glacier, spreading his vast wings. His jaws parted slightly.
[Energy Attunement]
A blazing aura of fire erupted from his body, distorting the air around him. In this frozen polar region, an intense heat core formed—melting snow, dissolving glaciers.
The Red Dragon’s light grew brighter, merging with the fire around him. Snowfields and glaciers reflected blinding light. The world seemed to fall silent.
Then—a sudden, overwhelming surge of flame.
The surroundings were engulfed in an inferno.
“Boom!”
The glacier erupted—collapsed ice mountains shattered into the sky. The thick snow layer transformed into scalding water. Steam, boiling and white, billowed across the land, filling the air for miles.
When the smoke cleared, the Red Dragon hovered above the sky, wings spread wide.
Where once stood glacier and snowfield, there now lay a crater nearly a hundred meters wide—its center a bubbling, steaming pool of water.
“That’s more like it.” Kai Xiusu grinned, baring his fangs, satisfied.
This power—exactly as he’d predicted.
