Chapter 469: Move the Ship Over!
Chapter 469: Move the Ship Over!
Although it wasn't raining in Ohara, the ocean where the fleet was sailing was shrouded in dark clouds, with raging winds, heavy rain, and flashing lightning.
The colossal fleet roamed the sea, appearing faintly through the gloomy rain, causing goosebumps just from a glimpse. Up close, it was an overwhelming black mass, sweeping across the ocean alongside the storm.
Amidst this fierce tempest, the captains of each ship stood either on the deck or in their captain's quarters, all with solemn expressions.
However, the situation on the leading ship, the Doomstar, was somewhat peculiar.
Inside the first floor of the towering structure on the deck, the atmosphere remained one of revelry.
Norton Sag held his cheek with one hand, his leg propped on the armrest, his head bobbing slightly to the music and dances. With a simple gesture, a maid would pour him fine wine and offer delicacies.
There was not a hint of the impending battle in the air.
Having lived a life of luxury, he couldn't give it up even when going on a campaign.
After enduring hardship for over twenty years, now that he had gained power, why not enjoy it? "Sage."
Lily approached from below, coming up beside Sag, and said, "Link called and asked if we're still collecting the spoils of war."
Sag waved his hand dismissively, "Just proceed as usual. By the way, Lily, how many of us are there this time?"
Lily sighed helplessly, "In total, we have 23,682 people, one flagship, four battleships, six command ships, and 150 warships."
The current Sag was a 'Three Unknowing' Pirate Emperor.
He didn't know how much territory he had because he had conquered too much. Aside from the main island, he couldn't remember the number of smaller islands. He would only inquire about something good to eat or use, then forget about it, leaving Marica to remember how much tribute was needed.
He didn't know how much wealth he had. Money, whether in resources or belli, was all put into circulation, especially after establishing the Gold Guild. He would occasionally ask about it to facilitate his orders or point out a direction.
He didn't know how many subordinates he had. The number of people in his territories and the pirates who joined or were recruited was too high, and he couldn't be bothered to remember. Lily was in charge of the statistics.
If they included the unmovable islands, retired pirates, and the Ohara homeland defenders, their forces had exceeded the standard Sag had set before he gained power—30,000.
However, Lily still felt that this number wasn't enough.
Their time in the New World had been too short. Although they had a great reputation and developed rapidly, they still fell short compared to the established Four Emperors.
This was almost all the forces they could muster, even including the Fur Tribe from Zou, who had responded to the call and prepared to join the battle with half their population.
However, according to the intelligence from Lucky, the total strength of Big Mom's Pirates stationed in Totto Land was as high as 40,000.
Numbers meant little to the strong, but how many strong individuals were there? Especially with an opponent of equal strength, they couldn't afford to be careless and had to engage in a real, hard-fought battle.
Regardless of the outcome, the battle would not be easy.
"Captain Sag! Lady Lily!"
Just as Sag continued to enjoy the performances, the door was pushed open, and a drenched pirate gasped, pointing outside, "There, there is..."
"What's the hurry?"
Sag threw a bottle of wine at him, "Drink it down, and then speak slowly."
"The lookout on the mast handed the bottle of alcohol to another pirate, who guzzled down a few mouthfuls and took a deep breath before shouting, "We've spotted the flag of one of the Four Emperors, Kaido!"
Lily's eyebrows furrowed, and her figure instantly vanished from her post. In the blink of an eye, she had rushed to the front of the deck, braving the wind and rain.
"Telescope!" she called out, extending her hand. Several pirates gathered on the deck respectfully handed her the telescope.
Despite the rain and wind, she could still make out a solitary ship approaching their massive fleet.
The flag atop the ship indeed bore the emblem of Kaido's Beast Pirates, but below it, the bow featured an elephant's head with incredibly long tusks.
The waves tossed the ship, causing it to sway as it rapidly closed in on them.
On the deck of that ship, Lily spotted a tall and robust figure with blonde hair, tied into a ponytail and two braided pigtails. The lower half of his face was covered by a metallic jaw, and he had two ivory decorations, one on his head and the other on his shoulder.
That guy...
"Jack the 'Drought'?" Lily's eyes widened in surprise.
...
On the Mammoth, a pirate tasked with observation lowered his telescope, his eyes widening in shock. "Oh no! Ahead, it's the Cataclysm's fleet! That flagship is the Doomstar!"
They were originally headed to Zou, and this journey should have commenced much earlier, but they had delayed due to reports that Zou had fallen under the Cataclysm's control.
However, they had recently received news that the fugitive they sought was hiding in Zou, and Jack couldn't resist setting sail immediately.
But not long into their voyage, they encountered a fierce storm.
A simple storm might have been manageable, even with the accompanying thunder, as such weather was not uncommon in the New World.
But within the storm, a massive shadow suddenly loomed ahead, sending chills down their spines.
And when they looked closer, it was even more alarming!
The Doomstar was right in front of them!
Didn't that mean the Cataclysm was ahead as well?!
"Quick, change course! Don't get too close to the Cataclysm's fleet! People will die!"
The remaining pirates echoed the panic, some pulling up the sails while others steered the ship.
"Don't panic!"
Just then, a tall figure appeared on the deck.
"Lord Jack!" the pirates exclaimed.
Jack gazed at the massive shadow emerging from the storm, revealing a substantial fleet. He spoke in a deep voice, "Cataclysm? The one who injured Lord Kaido? With so many ships, where are they headed?"
"Lord Jack, we must change course now!" a pirate urged.
"Change course? For what?"
Jack's eyes were bloodshot as he replied, "Dressrosa has been occupied by that guy, disrupting Lord Kaido's business. We won't change course; I'll confront them. Steer the ship closer!"
...
On the Doomstar, as Lily lowered her telescope, a pirate asked, "Lady Lily, what should we do?"
"Not only are they not evading us, but they're actually approaching us?"
The wind blew her golden, curly hair back as she handed the telescope to the pirate. With one hand on the sword hilt, she spoke in a cold tone, "Let's see how daring he is to steer his ship closer."
