Chapter 468: Three-Star Revelation
Chapter 468: Three-Star Revelation
Ji Xinghuo's gaze pierced through the void, and the colossal figure of the Void Kun Dragon quickly vanished into the distance.
"What a pity."
He felt a twinge of regret but didn't dwell on it.
Although the spear attack had severely injured the Void Kun Dragon, it was far from enough to kill it. It wasn't easy to take down a Void Kun Dragon master.
Moreover, he hadn't left empty-handed.
Ji Xinghuo examined the metal ring in his hand. It was lightweight, with a bluish-green hue, and the flat band was about a finger's width, measuring ten centimeters in diameter. The outer surface was intricately engraved with a Void Kun Dragon pattern, while the inner side bore complex intaglio markings that pulsed with subtle void energy.
This treasure's aura resembled that of the Void Kun Dragon, and its shape resembled the Dragon Ring commonly found in the True Dragon Empire.
"It should be a custom Dragon Ring made by the Void Kun family!"
Ji Xinghuo's eyes widened in realization.
He took out his own Dragon Ring for comparison, and the resemblance was striking.
However, ordinary Dragon Rings were only one-star revelations, while this Azure Void Ring was a three-star revelation!
"What a fantastic item!"
Ji Xinghuo grasped the Azure Void Ring, sensing its immense power.
The most formidable ability it bestowed was undoubtedly the "Void Imprisonment," one of the top-tier Starfall abilities. It originated from the Void Kun Dragon's dragon vein variant and was a weakened version of the eclipse ability, "Spatial Barrier."
Ji Xinghuo had just witnessed the power of Void Imprisonment.
It could create an independent space with a diameter of one hundred meters, restraining all matter within and reducing their movement speed to a mere fraction of their original velocity—as low as one percent or even one-thousandth, depending on their initial state of motion.
Void Imprisonment lasted for six seconds and could only be activated once every 320 stellar hours, consuming approximately 12,000 stellar points each time.
"Six seconds..."
Ji Xinghuo's heart raced at the thought.
In the heat of battle, even a fraction of a second could mean the difference between life and death.
With a full six seconds of hard control, he could have died four or five times!
There was no escaping death if one fell prey to this ability.
Earlier, when the Void Kun Dragon used Void Imprisonment on his three shadow clones, they were instantly annihilated.
The utility of Void Imprisonment went beyond mere control; it could also be used defensively. By placing oneself within the void prison, one became invincible for six seconds, allowing time to concoct a counterattack or simply escape by leaping away.
While Void Imprisonment trapped enemies within a spatial blockade, it left the caster unaffected.
"Impressive!"
Ji Xinghuo couldn't help but admire the ability.
Based on Void Imprisonment alone, the Azure Void Ring was worthy of its three-star revelation rating.
Additionally, the Azure Void Ring also granted the ability "Blink," a sixth-level version that allowed for instantaneous movement of around 200 meters.
Most of the time, abilities bestowed by weapons and equipment were of the first level.
This was because when an ability was extracted from a corpse, it would revert to the first level. Only by employing specialized methods to preserve the ability during extraction and immediately infusing it into the materials used to craft the weapon could the ability's level be retained.
This was an extremely advanced manufacturing technique, considered one of the most cutting-edge technologies in the entire Starry Sky Galaxy.
However, it came at a cost—the expense increased by several hundredfold, and the success rate was extremely low.
Consequently, only treasures of two-star revelation and above would typically bear high-level abilities.
Not all abilities attached to treasures followed this pattern, though.
The Azure Void Ring possessed three abilities: Void Imprisonment (Level 1), Blink (Level 6), and Sky Step (Level 2). It also came with a 128-cubic-meter dimensional space capable of storing approximately 50,000 stellar points, making it extraordinarily powerful overall.
Sky Step was also a Starfall ability.
On the surface, this ability allowed one to fly at incredible speeds. However, its true nature lay in manipulating space to create imperceptible spatial ripples that propelled the user forward.
Whether in the Starry Domain, the Milky Way Galaxy, or even the near-vacuum of outer space, Sky Step could be utilized without hindrance.
Additionally, Sky Step amplified the effects of abilities involving spatial displacement, including Blink, Starry Domain Leap, Void Wander, and Teleport, among others. It increased their speed of casting, extended their range, and reduced the amount of stellar power consumed.
"Truly worthy of a three-star revelation!"
Ji Xinghuo marveled.
A treasure of this caliber could serve as the cornerstone of an entire race, but it could also attract calamity.
However, it wasn't surprising that the Void Kun Dragon possessed the Azure Void Ring.
While the Void Kun family had declined, they were once one of the most prestigious families in the True Dragon Empire, having produced multiple Dragon Emperors. Their legacy remained, and it was only natural that they would bestow a three-star revelation treasure upon their outstanding scion for protection.
Now, it had fallen into his hands.
"The Void Kun Dragon will never let this go," Ji Xinghuo murmured as he caressed the ring, knowing full well that such a priceless treasure couldn't be returned.
With his false identity, he had no fear of the Void Kun family coming after him.
He also didn't need to worry about Cang Ya.
She had the backing of the Cang Long family and the Azure Dragon Emperor, so at most, the Void Kun family could only pressure her to reveal the identity of Yu Huo Liang Yuan. They wouldn't dare do anything more.
Ji Xinghuo inspected the dimensional space within the Azure Void Ring and found only trivial items of no significant value.
The Void Kun Dragon had purely used it as a self-defense equipment.
Every Void Kun Dragon was born with a dimensional stomach pouch that upgraded into a dimensional space as they grew. These spaces had enormous capacities, and the Void Kun Dragon likely kept his most valuable possessions within his own body.
"It's time to return."
Ji Xinghuo released his Dark Incarnation, returning to his normal size.
He infused a wisp of stellar power into the Azure Void Ring, and the bluish-green ring turned ethereal and transparent. He placed it on his wrist, where it seamlessly merged with his skin, leaving only a faint ring-shaped mark that was barely noticeable.
The Yunhai Dragon had acknowledged its master.
At that moment, the Yunhai Dragon circled above Cang Ya's head, soaring in the sky alongside the Bingpo Dragon, while the Cang Dragon lurked beneath the ice at her feet.
Three dragons guarded their master, but the most striking of all was Qinghong.
Qinghong revealed its true form, over thirty meters long, crouching behind Cang Ya. Its golden, silver, and blue scales shimmered in the sunlight, and its golden mane billowed, exuding an aura more formidable than that of the dragons, causing the surrounding Dragon Masters to feel apprehensive.
Jing Qin and Xingban Lan were both present.
So were Cang Beiming, Yindiao Jianping, Jing Hansakura, and several other Dragon Masters, along with a group of Abyss Hunters from the nearby sea.
Through Qinghong, Ji Xinghuo was aware of the situation on this side.
When Qinghong returned with the Yunhai Dragon, most people had already dispersed, and Jing Qin had also departed via Starry Domain Leap, leaving only Xingban Lan behind.
No one expected this sudden turnaround.
Taking advantage of this opportunity, Cang Ya successfully fused with the Yunhai Dragon's dragon vein and made it acknowledge her as its master.
Xingban Lan, who was closest, was the first to notice the Yunhai Dragon's return. Just as he was about to make a move, he was blocked by Qinghong and could only watch helplessly as the Yunhai Dragon acknowledged Cang Ya as its master. By the time the others realized what was happening, it was too late.
However, they didn't give up and waited on the spot for the return of the Xu Kun Tianlin, hoping for one last chance.
But the Xu Kun Tianlin did not appear.
Instead, Ji Xinghuo returned.
"It's him!"
"What's going on? Did he lose Xu Kun Tianlin?"
Cang Beiming, Jing Qin, and the others were filled with uncertainty, but no one believed that anything could have happened to the Xu Kun Dragon. They thought that it had merely been shaken off temporarily by Ji Xinghuo. However, the Xu Kun Dragon was the most adept at traversing the void—how could it have been left behind?
Only Cang Ya was overjoyed.
But her joy quickly turned to worry, and she hurriedly asked, "Where's Xu Kun Tianlin?"
"Don't worry about him," Ji Xinghuo replied without directly answering her question. He scanned the crowd, his gaze sweeping over everyone present. "Let's go."
"Stop him!"
Jing Qin shouted.
He was the first to make a move, rushing forward at top speed. Yindiao Jianping transformed into a massive silver sword light, tearing through the air and slashing at the pair on the ice with a sonic boom.
Several other Dragon Masters and Abyss Hunters also launched their attacks, surrounding them from different directions.
Cang Beiming hesitated for a moment before choosing to remain a spectator.
Xingban Lan, on the other hand, went against the grain and pulled his Star-Speckled Dragon back, creating distance between them.
Cang Ya's face was pale.
She was badly injured, and despite continuous treatment, she had not recovered. Her strength had diminished to less than half of her peak state, leaving her with almost no combat power.
"Bring your dragons closer," Ji Xinghuo said casually. "I'll take care of them."
Cang Ya nodded gently, her heart filled with tranquility and a sense of solid security.
Ji Xinghuo himself did not make a move.
The three shadow clones each faced the enemies, attacking from different directions.
Each shadow clone possessed ninety percent of Ji Xinghuo's combat power, devoid of any fancy abilities. They simply flew, accelerating to supersonic speed in the Starry Domain and thrusting their spears at their targeted enemies.
Bang!
The first to engage in combat was Jing Qin. The shadow clone went straight at him, colliding head-on.
Jing Qin let out a pained roar as his arms, which had just healed, were broken again. As he flew backward, the shadow clone reduced the force on its body, instantly turned around, and pursued Jing Qin. The Tianhuo Dragon Tooth Spear pierced his chest.
Even the Xu Kun Tianlin's defense couldn't withstand this spear strike, let alone Jing Qin, who was a notch below in strength.
A protective force field was triggered, and dragon scales appeared, but to no avail.
The long spear penetrated his chest, protruding from his back.
The shadow clone delivered a flying kick, sending Jing Qin tumbling into the sea with his body broken into countless pieces. His fate was unknown.
Not far away, another shadow clone faced the silver sword light, and with a single thrust of its spear, it pierced Yindiao Jianping's body, knocking him off the Yindiao Dragon's back. The spear then smashed down, breaking the Yindiao Dragon's wings, sending both man and dragon plummeting into the sea.
And this was just the beginning.
The three shadow clones ignored the enemies' attacks, most of which couldn't breach their defenses, and the few that did only caused minor damage.
The Dragon Masters and Abyss Hunters were swept aside like weeds, fleeing in disarray.
Cang Beiming watched this unfold with a grave expression.
He knew that the man beside Cang Ya was powerful, but he hadn't expected him to be so formidable that just three shadow clones were unbeatable. A suspicion formed in his mind—had something happened to the Xu Kun Tianlin since it hadn't returned yet?
"Impossible!"
Cang Beiming immediately dismissed his own idea, his gaze fixed intently on Ji Xinghuo standing on the ice, his expression uncertain.
As he watched, a brilliant light enveloped the area.
Ji Xinghuo and Cang Ya, along with Qinghong and the three dragons, entered the Starry Domain Leap and vanished from the ice.
As they departed, the three shadow clones also dissipated. The battered Dragon Masters and Abyss Hunters exchanged bewildered glances, their faces reflecting their lingering fear. They didn't linger for another minute, quickly leaving the area.
