Chapter 467: Grace is Not Important At All
Chapter 467: Grace is Not Important At All
"So powerful..."
"I never knew that Feng Ye was such a formidable person."
Unintimidated by Feng Ye and curious about humans as she had never met one before, Bai Xing quickly warmed up to him and started asking all sorts of questions.
Seeing that Feng Ye didn't seem bothered and was gentle with Bai Xing, Otohime shared more about him, leaving the young mermaid princess in awe.
"Is he stronger than Father?"
For Bai Xing, who knew little about the world above the sea, her father, the king of Ryugu Kingdom, and the great knight Neptune were the strongest people she knew.
"Perhaps just a tad stronger," Feng Ye replied with a slight smile as he sat on Bai Xing's shoulder.
Though only nine years old, Bai Xing's size far exceeded that of an average human, her palm only slightly larger than Feng Ye's.
Walking alongside them, Otohime smiled gently and said to Bai Xing, "Mr. Feng Ye is far stronger than your father, my dear."
The group strolled along, engaging in light conversation.
With Bai Xing's lively presence, the atmosphere became more cheerful. She asked question after question, and though Otohime worried that Feng Ye might find her chatter annoying, she saw that he always responded with a slight smile and didn't seem to mind at all.
However, there was a slight hiccup when Bai Xing directed her questions to Hancock, who naturally responded with the cold and haughty attitude befitting an empress, startling the young mermaid.
Feng Ye couldn't help but chuckle at this.
After a few words of reassurance, Bai Xing gradually recovered, but she still glanced at Hancock warily from time to time, carefully avoiding her gaze.
In Bai Xing's eyes, Feng Ye was easy to talk to and approachable, Hancock was difficult to communicate with, and Robin fell somewhere in between—not cold but not particularly warm either.
After touring Ryugu Kingdom, the group returned to the palace, where a grand feast had been prepared.
Although seafood was a staple in their daily meals, the cuisine of Fishman Island was vastly different from what they usually ate.
The ingredients sourced here were of the finest quality.
When the culinary skills were comparable, the excellence of the ingredients naturally made a huge difference in the taste, and both Hancock and Robin praised the cuisine of Ryugu Kingdom highly.
After the feast.
Otohime tentatively asked Feng Ye some questions.
The two delved into a deep discussion about 'peaceful coexistence between humans and fish-men', with Feng Ye highly praising the island's development over the centuries and expressing approval of Otohime's concept of species equality. He also condemned the World Government for excluding Fishman Island.
"It wouldn't be difficult to help you achieve this treaty. I'd just need to inform the World Government, but I've previously expressed to some people that I won't interfere in their affairs or get involved in politics. Going back on my word would be rather graceless."
Sitting on a coral chair, Feng Ye smiled at Otohime and said, "However, if you truly wish for it, there is another way. I can move Fishman Island to the New World. That way, at least within my territory, peaceful coexistence is possible. Whether or not you can integrate with humans afterward depends on you."
"Move Fishman Island to the New World?"
Otohime was taken aback, her eyes widening in surprise. "Is that even possible?"
Robin, sitting gracefully nearby with a teacup in hand, took a sip and added, "Mr. Feng has already relocated more than one island to the New World.
The Fishman Island was different from both Kuja and Sky Islands.
After the relocation of Kuja and Sky Islands, there was minimal impact on the residents as the vast ocean or White Sea remained familiar environments for them, even with significant changes.
However, the Fishman Island was unique. For both the fish-people and mermaids, their habitat wasn't limited to just this island; they were also accustomed to the depths of the sea and the vast expanse of the Shabondy Archipelago.
Even if the entire Fishman Island were moved, the surrounding seas would become unfamiliar, greatly impacting their daily lives, gathering resources, and hunting.
"Mhm."
Feng Ye picked up his teacup and took a sip, smiling as he replied, "I'll probably be staying on the Fishman Island for about a week. Take your time to consider, and let's leave it at that for today."
Shortly after.
Led by Otohime, Feng Ye arrived at the back garden of the Dragon Palace, where several rooms had been prepared. The accommodations were even more luxurious than the finest hotels Feng Ye had stayed in during his travels, and both Robin and Hancock were very satisfied.
If there was one thing they weren't entirely pleased about, it was the fact that the Dragon Palace had prepared three bedrooms. It would have been much better if there had only been two.
The three of them returned to their respective rooms.
However, not long after, Feng Ye opened his eyes with a slight sense of helplessness.
There was a noticeable bump under the thin blanket covering him, a shape that couldn't have been made by one person lying under it.
Feng Ye pulled back the blanket and looked at Robin, who had somehow snuck in and was now lying by his side. "How did you get here?"
"Being by your side in a strange place gives me the most peace of mind..."
Robin propped her cheeks up with her hands and smiled as she looked at Feng Ye. "I'm sorry I didn't ask for permission first... Do you want to punish me?"
"Don't do anything strange."
Feng Ye gently tapped Robin's forehead and then ignored her, lying back down to sleep.
Early morning.
Feng Ye woke up.
"You're awake, Mr. Feng."
Robin stood at the doorway, turning to look at the awakened Feng Ye. "Someone from the Dragon Palace just informed me that breakfast is ready."
"Mhm, let's go then."
...
An hour later.
Feng Ye and Robin stepped out of the room.
In the corridor outside, Hancock stood with her arms crossed over her chest. She glanced at Robin and then lifted her chin slightly, her expression cold as she said, "So lacking in grace."
Robin smiled faintly and replied, "If I paid too much attention to grace, I would miss the opportunity to accompany Mr. Feng, not to mention I'm just a maid."
A hint of annoyance flashed in Hancock's eyes.
However, she didn't lash out. Instead, she looked at Feng Ye, her gaze slightly evasive, and put on a pitiful act. "Feng Ye, I want to make it up to you."
"..."
Feng Ye interrupted with a sense of helplessness. "It's time for breakfast."
Having lived with Hancock for a long time, he had developed immunity to her antics.
Hancock moved closer and hugged Feng Ye's arm, looking at him with her beautiful eyes sparkling like shimmering water. Her charm was like a blooming flower.
She leaned in close and breathed into Feng Ye's ear, "Can't I be your breakfast first?"
Robin: "..."
Who's the one with no grace now?
She silently complained in her heart.
