Chapter 466: You Were Having Quite the Fun Time
Chapter 466: You Were Having Quite the Fun Time
Although she had a vague understanding of what had transpired, Hermione hesitated and remained standing outside the box instead of stepping in.
On the other hand, Connor took the initiative and entered first.
"I won't cause you any more trouble," she said with a smile. "Plus, I'm quite curious about what's inside this box of yours."
"Whatever you do, don't wander off. It's easy to get lost," Kyle warned. "Also, don't be afraid of whatever you see. I promise, as long as you stay in the room below, you'll be safe."
Connor gave Kyle a sidelong glance, her intuition telling her that this box held something extraordinary.
However, given the urgency of the situation, she refrained from asking further questions.
"Wait for me," Autumn called out as she hurried to join them.
Fred and George exchanged a glance and, despite Ginny's protests, worked together to push her into the box as well.
Kyle turned to Harry and Hermione.
"I can help!" Harry offered quickly.
"No," Kyle said, shaking his head. "You're the one who needs to hide the most. Don't forget, you almost got killed just now... And there are too many people around here. I can't guarantee that I'd be able to discover it in time if they try something again."
"Kyle's right," Hermione sighed. "They want you dead, and they almost succeeded just now..."
"But—" Harry frowned, wanting to argue further.
However, at that moment, Hermione was already pulling him towards the box.
Having witnessed the previous events, Hermione realized that they couldn't be of much help. If Kyle hadn't noticed something amiss in time, Harry might have already lost his life.
Hermione dreaded to think what would have happened if they faced a similar situation again. Would Harry still be so lucky?
"Let's go. We need to keep an eye on Ron," she said. "We'll be safest inside... After all, who would pay attention to an old box, right?"
Harry hesitated for a moment, recalling his near-death experience, but eventually followed Hermione into the box.
Kyle's eyes twitched slightly at their comment.
What did they mean by that?
While it was true that his box looked a bit old after three years of use, he had taken good care of it, and there wasn't even a noticeable scratch on it. How could they call it an "old box"?
More importantly, such a box shouldn't be conspicuous; the older it looked, the better.
"Uncultured Gryffindors..." Kyle muttered under his breath.
Now, only three people remained.
When Kyle looked at Fred and George, they firmly shook their heads, indicating that they would not step into the box under any circumstances.
"Alright then." Kyle put away the box. "Let's head to the campsite."
"Okay!" Fred and George nodded and turned to leave. "We'll go find our backpacks first. That's where the Dungbombs are..."
Behind them, Kyle raised his wand and exchanged a glance with Cedric.
Cedric instantly understood...
"Stunning Spell!"
"Petrificus Totalus!"
As expected, Fred and George fell to the ground, paralyzed by the spells.
Kyle reopened the box and stuffed the unconscious George inside, headfirst.
"I have a feeling..." Cedric picked up the petrified Fred, "...that we won't have a peaceful day for at least the next six months."
"Yeah." Kyle shrugged. "But it doesn't matter. That's a problem for future us... You go first. Remember to keep an eye on them. There are some dangerous things in here!"
"Okay." Cedric said, poking his head out of the box, "You're not thinking of going to help, are you? It's too dangerous. Don't forget they even used Unforgivable Curses!"
"Don't worry, I have backup." Kyle said, "I can't explain it now, but you'll understand soon enough."
Suddenly, rustling sounds came from the trees.
"Who's there!"
Almost instinctively, Kyle raised his wand and erected a transparent barrier in front of him.
He then grabbed the box nearby and sprinted towards the campsite.
By now, the campsite had descended into complete chaos, with cries and screams echoing everywhere. Various colored spells burst in the air like fireworks, creating a tumultuous scene.
Without hesitation, Kyle made his way towards the most crowded area.
He was searching for Mr. Weasley, and it wasn't as difficult as he had imagined, even in such a chaotic battlefield. The Weasley family's distinctive red hair stood out among the crowd.
Before long, Kyle spotted him near the center of the campsite. Mr. Weasley, along with Bill and Charlie, formed a protective circle around a group of young boys and girls in their pajamas.
Facing them were about seven or eight hooded wizards.
However, instead of attacking Mr. Weasley immediately, they were toying with them like cats playing with mice.
Spells of different colors were cast leisurely towards the terrified group of children behind the Weasleys. Mr. Weasley and his sons were doing their best to resist, but their efforts only seemed to amuse the hooded figures, who laughed uproariously as if they were watching the most entertaining show.
"Alright, that's enough playing around," a wizard with a hoarse voice said. "The Ministry's support should be arriving soon. Let's not delay our main task."
His companion, with a sinister smile, added, "Maxim will be so surprised to see all these students from Beauxbatons... That stupid oaf, I'm going to make her grovel at my feet and lick my shoes this time!"
"You can do whatever you want to her later!"
Simultaneously, the hooded figures raised their wands.
And then, without any warning, a voice rang out from behind them.
"Stunning Spell!"
At the same time, several round objects quietly rolled to their feet.
"Crucio... Ahh!"
One of the hooded wizards, who was about to cast the Cruciatus Curse on Mr. Weasley, suddenly screamed in agony and fell to the ground.
The excruciating pain coming from his shin made him let out a piercing scream, causing others to mistake him for the victim of the Cruciatus Curse.
Soon, a second scream pierced the air... One by one, the hooded wizards toppled like wheat being mowed down.
That was when they noticed the round, biting cabbages attached to their legs.
"Damn, why are there biting cabbages here?" someone shouted in panic.
As they frantically tried to remove the cabbages from their legs, Mr. Weasley and his sons seized the opportunity.
"Stunning Spell!"
"Stunning Spell!"
"Bandage Binding Curse!"
...
The situation took a swift turn, and the hooded wizards, who had initially held the numerical advantage, were now left with only one standing member.
He was the quickest to react and had managed to back away in time to avoid the biting cabbage's surprise attack.
However, it seemed that this would not make much of a difference.
The Weasley family glared at him with fury in their eyes, ready to unleash their pent-up anger.
Even though they didn't know what had transpired, it didn't stop them from seeking a satisfying revenge.
"You bastards were having quite the fun time, weren't you!" Bill exclaimed, his wand at the ready, a satisfied smile on his face. "Come on, let's continue the game!"
"Damn it!" The remaining wizard cursed and turned to flee.
But before he could take more than a few steps...
"Stunning Spell!"
He fell to the ground, joining his companions, motionless.
His wand flew out of his hand, distinct from the others as it had a delicate metal snake head at the end, with two green gemstones sparkling in the snake's eyes.
