Chapter 466: The Missing Invisibility Cloak
Chapter 466: The Missing Invisibility Cloak
As he walked out of the bar, Ivan was surprised to find that Harry, who had run out alone, hadn't gone far. He was just standing in a dark corner nearby, lost in thought.
"Harry! Why are you here by yourself? Where are Sirius and the others?" Ivan walked over and asked softly.
It seemed like Harry had just snapped back to reality. He looked at Ivan but didn't reply.
"Everyone is out looking for you! Professor Dumbledore didn't mean any harm when he said that. He wants to protect you, after all, you're different from others. You have a mortal enemy out there", Ivan leaned against the wall and tried to reassure him.
Harry nodded, understanding that Ivan was referring to Voldemort. He also understood Dumbledore's good intentions but couldn't control his emotions, so he had deliberately avoided Sirius and the others to be alone and calm down.
But considering that his friends might still be worried about him, Harry decided not to throw a tantrum and followed Ivan back to the Three Broomsticks Inn.
Dumbledore then had Fawkes go and call Sirius and the others back.
When Sirius returned upon receiving the notification, he didn't blame Harry. Instead, he offered words of comfort.
Even if they couldn't move in together this summer, they could still see each other frequently, and it wouldn't be a problem.
"If they dare to bully you again, just tell me, and I'll deal with them!" Sirius patted his chest, making a promise.
"Right! We'll be there to support you too!" Hermione nodded in agreement.
Seeing their support, the slight annoyance in Harry's heart was swept away. Perhaps the summer wouldn't be as bad as he had imagined.
After this little incident, everyone lost the mood to celebrate. It was getting late, so they made their way back from Hogsmeade to the castle.
Upon learning that Dumbledore's condition was not right, Ivan's previously relaxed attitude turned urgent again. Enhancing his magical strength became his top priority once more!
The fastest way, of course, was to integrate new bloodlines!
However, obtaining legendary points wasn't easy. Despite his recent efforts, the only thing he was likely to get was the Order of Merlin, First Class. Everything else probably wouldn't be enough to earn legendary points.
Since this path wasn't viable, Ivan had to resort to a more straightforward method: diligent study!
So, when Harry and Ron returned to the Gryffindor Common Room, they were surprised to see Ivan pulling out a large stack of books, placing them on the table, and sitting down to read them one by one.
This scene left Harry and Ron feeling a bit uneasy. They even wondered if they had traveled to the future, thinking that perhaps the final exams were tomorrow.
"Final exams are coming up soon. If I were you, I'd follow Ivan's example and read a few more books!" Hermione walked over, picked up one of the books, and said to Harry and the others.
"But I don't remember us having to study this stuff", Ron glanced at the titles and pouted.
"Advanced Spell Analysis?" Reminded by Ron, Hermione now noticed the titles of the books in front of her and looked at the others in surprise.
*Advanced Magic Theory*, *The Power of the Mind - How to Protect Your Mind*, *Standard Book of Spells, Grade 7*, *Dangerous Creatures and Their Ratings*, *Curses and Counter-Curses*
"Ivan, are you preparing for the N.E.W.T exams? Are you planning to graduate this year? No, even for those exams, you don't need to read these books, right?" Harry said, amazed.
"I have no plans to skip a grade or graduate. I just suddenly realized that my magical skills need improvement, and I need to focus on enhancing them!"
Ivan listened to the system prompt in his ear, closing the *Standard Book of Spells, Grade 7* with a worried expression.
Perhaps because his Transfiguration level had already surpassed six, the benefits of reading the book were now minimal, almost negligible.
However, it could still help improve his weaker areas in other spells.
Ivan was very clear about what he needed. Due to his previous focus on bloodline magic research and practice, his basic spell theory level had not improved for a long time, which was a dangerous sign.
Without a solid foundation and a clear understanding of the principles behind spells, he would always be limited to surface-level knowledge.
However, Ivan's reflection appeared shocking to Harry and Ron.
Improve even more?!
Ron looked at Ivan as if he were a monster. In Ron's eyes, Ivan's strength was already explosively powerful. Even the professors at Hogwarts might not be as skilled in magic as Ivan.
Professor Lupin had once openly admitted that he couldn't drive away a hundred Dementors at once.
Harry also couldn't quite understand why Ivan was so determined to work so hard.
"By the way, why are you reading Dark magic books?" Ron noticed a few Dark magic books in the pile and frowned.
"If we don't understand Dark magic, how can we defend against it?" Ivan glanced at Ron and said casually.
Ron was left speechless.
Ivan ignored him and turned to Harry, hesitating for a moment before tossing a book to him.
"Harry! Learning more is always beneficial. Remember, in critical moments, only you can protect yourself."
"Let's talk about it after the Quidditch Match. I'm not in the mood right now."
Harry shook his head and glanced at the book cover, which read *The Power of the Mind - How to Protect Your Mind*.
Harry had never been particularly interested in reading, especially not extracurricular books unrelated to exams.
Ivan shrugged, not pushing further. He had merely meant to offer a friendly reminder.
In the end, only Hermione stayed to read and study with Ivan, while Harry and Ron discussed the upcoming Quidditch Match.
It was past ten when everyone returned to their respective dormitories to get ready for bed.
"Damn!" Harry screamed in alarm after taking off his outer robe and feeling around.
"What's wrong, Harry?" Ron, who had just lain down, yawned and got up, looking at the agitated Harry with a puzzled expression.
Ivan also put down his book.
"My Invisibility Cloak is gone!" Harry was visibly distressed.
This morning, he had considered the possibility that Sirius Black's appeal might fail, so he had brought the Invisibility Cloak and hidden it in the lining of his outer robe.
But now it was nowhere to be found.
"I told you not to bring anything!" Ivan shook his head in exasperation.
"Harry, are you sure it's really lost? Maybe it's just invisible, and we can't see it?" Ron suggested, his imagination running wild.
