Chapter 466: Majin and the Guild (Second Update)
Chapter 466: Majin and the Guild (Second Update)
Two days later, Jerry, floating in mid-air, retracted several language and text collectors.
"Dumbgirl, summarize the new languages and texts collected, then transmit them to the translator."
"Estimated completion in five minutes!"
The voice of the intelligent system, Dumbgirl, sounded from the bracelet.
"Summarization complete, beginning transmission."
"Transmission complete. Please restart the translator."
Jerry followed the steps to restart the translator attached to his earlobe. Two seconds later, when he looked up at the strange characters on the central building of the city, the translation appeared in the contact lenses embedded in his eyes:
"Welcome to Harujion Port!"
"So, this port city is called Harujion."
Landing in an empty alley, Jerry dispelled the Disguise Charm and changed his clothes into a common long robe. He then stepped out of the alley.
Now, the conversations of the passersby were no longer incomprehensible to him; the translator had converted everything into his familiar Mandarin.
The text on the streets also had corresponding translations.
After a short stroll around the city, he quickly gathered some information from the conversations of the passersby and the books he purchased.
The world he was currently in was called Aslant.
His current location was Harujion, a port city in the most remote region of the Ishgar Continent, in the Fiore Kingdom.
The Fiore Kingdom was a permanently neutral country with a population of 17 million. Many people in this country lived by using Magic, and they were called Majin.
Of course, not everyone who could use Magic was called a Majin. The prerequisite was that you had to reach a certain level of strength and pass an examination to join a formal Majin guild.
Otherwise, you were just an ordinary person who could use a bit of Magic.
Magic was a very common thing in this world, and traces of it could be found everywhere in daily life.
During the past two days, while wandering the streets, Jerry often sensed a certain amount of Magic Power in some passersby, though most of it was very minimal, even less than many first-year young wizards at Hogwarts.
According to what he heard, this city was more prosperous in fishing than in Magic due to its remote location and proximity to the sea.
Less than ten percent of the city's population had any significant Magic Power, and none of them were considered Majin. Naturally, there were no Majin guilds in the city.
If someone really wanted to learn Magic, they would typically leave for larger cities to study.
Therefore, if Jerry wanted to truly understand the Magic system of this world, it was unlikely he would find much information in this city, as the locals themselves were not very knowledgeable.
However, before leaving the city, he decided to visit the only Magic store in the city to see if he could buy some useful items.
For example, various types of Magic books!
Yes, although this city had no Majin guilds and no one who could be called a Majin, he had learned from a passerby that there was a Magic store that provided magical items for traveling Majin.
Based on his understanding of the basic facts of this world, he had not found any related information in the movies, TV shows, or novels in his memory.
It seemed that the story of this Mini World might not exist in the worlds he had experienced so far.
He wasn't particularly concerned about this, as he was fairly confident in his current strength. Even if he didn't fully understand this world, it wasn't a big issue.
Most importantly, this was the only world he had encountered where Magic was so widespread, which could be very helpful for enhancing his own Magic power.
According to the book he had just bought, titled "Things You Didn't Know About Majin Guilds", the number of officially registered Majin guilds in the Fiore Kingdom had officially exceeded five hundred this year.
Currently, based on the completion of tasks by the major guilds, the Fairy Tail Guild still ranked first.
After crossing half the city, Jerry finally found the blue Magic shop with a red octopus emblem under a stone bridge by the river.
"Welcome, what can I do for you, sir?"
As soon as he pushed the door open, a bald old man who looked to be in his sixties or seventies greeted him warmly.
"I'll just take a look first."
Jerry smiled and began to look around.
Perhaps because Magic had declined in this city, the shop wasn't very large, and there weren't many items.
"Sir, don't let the size of my shop fool you. We have a wide variety of items, especially new products. Look at this year's most popular item, the Magic Color Box!"
The owner, who hadn't had a customer in a long time, eagerly took out a blue box and started to enthusiastically promote it.
Seeing this, Jerry retracted his gaze and looked at the box with interest.
The owner reached into the box and input a bit of Magic Power. Immediately, a small Magic array appeared on the box, and the owner's originally yellow shirt turned purple.
"When traveling, with this Magic Color Box, you never have to worry about your clothes being monotonous. There are dozens of different colors to choose from, and you can switch them at will!"
"That's quite interesting!"
Jerry, intrigued, took the Magic Color Box and examined it closely.
Changing the color of objects was a simple Magic for Jerry. What interested him was that this simple magical item showcased a Magic system entirely different from the one he knew, unique to this world.
"How much is it?"
Jerry decided to buy it first and study it later when he had the time.
The owner's eyes lit up when he heard Jerry ask the price. He immediately responded:
"This is the latest Magic item, a bit expensive, but only three thousand J!"
"No problem. What other magical items do you have? Just show me, and if I like them, I'll buy them all!"
Jerry pretended to reach into his pocket and pulled out a stack of at least a million J in paper currency, placing it on the counter in front of the owner.
J was the common currency in this country, available in both paper and coin forms. The paper currency came in denominations of 1000, 2000, 5000, and 10000, while the coins were 1, 5, 10, 50, 100, and 500.
Since neither the coins nor the paper currency had any identifying numbers, Jerry could easily create them using his Disguise Spell.
Therefore, he wouldn't have to worry about running out of money in this world.
The owner, seeing the stack of paper currency on the counter, immediately straightened his previously hunched back.
He knew that today, he had encountered a big customer!
