Chapter 466: First Clash, Y2-Shining
Chapter 466: First Clash, Y2-Shining
"Skyhorse Meteor Strike Fist!" Tian Ma Xing Kong, true to his style of shouting technique names with every skill used, launched another attack.
Fighting two opponents alone, he pressured Hong Hu and Zhao Ying Wang relentlessly, leaving them no chance to counterattack as they were forced into defense.
"Impossible... Clearly the same skill, but the power keeps increasing?" Zhao Ying Wang muttered, clearly deducing this from the bloodstone Demon's worsening injuries.
Hong Hu added, "This is exactly what makes this middle school syndrome so annoying..."
"Oooh! I can even ignite my burning passion! My little cosmos!" Tian Ma Xing Kong, eyes blazing with dramatic intensity, continued spouting his overly melodramatic lines.
Meanwhile, the Seer stood aside, watching the combat coldly. Though he held no affection for these otherworld travelers, Soulstealer had specifically ordered him not to provoke them. Thus, he simply observed without interference.
However, just as the battle threatened to escalate further, the Seer suddenly sensed an anomaly. Addressing the three players directly, he stated, "Otherworld travelers... I should warn you."
His words grabbed their attention immediately, all three turning to face him.
"A hostile entity is approaching this location." As he spoke, the Seer's body began undergoing unexpected changes, liquefying into a mudslide-like state and seeping into the ground. "If I were you, I'd run now..." As a being naturally dwelling beneath the surface, he had only emerged because the bloodstone Demon discovered him. This abrupt retreat fit his nature perfectly.
"What? Another villain?" Tian Ma Xing Kong spun around, glaring at the other two. "Hmph... Do you think calling more evil allies will help you defeat me?"
"Brother, there's limits to how clueless you can be", Zhao Ying Wang sighed. "What does this have to do with us?"
Hong Hu added, "It's pointless talking to him. The world within middle school syndrome's eyes differs completely from ours—we can't communicate normally."
Whoosh—
Suddenly, a pulse beam tore through the air, interrupting their argument. The attack targeted the massive bloodstone Demon directly.
At this speed, Zhao Ying Wang couldn't dodge—the inherent delay in executing commands for summoned entities proved fatal. Within two seconds, the giant stone demon evaporated into nothingness.
Hong Hu and Tian Ma Xing Kong wore expressions of shock, completely thrown off by this sudden turn.
The beam faded, revealing Zhao Ying Wang collapsed by the roadside, blood spilling from his mouth, his face ashen.
"Must be... joking..." Zhao Ying Wang had severed his connection to the summoned entity in the final instant before destruction, barely saving his life.
"What a bother..." Hong Hu regained his composure quickly, rushing to Zhao Ying Wang's side. Expecting a finishing blow, Zhao Ying Wang's first thought was: This guy's here to take my points.
Unexpectedly, Hong Hu didn't strike the helpless opponent. Instead, he pulled out a bizarre artifact resembling a soup ladle, waved it twice, and activated a medicinal skill.
"Can you stand?" As the skill finished, Hong Hu immediately turned his alert gaze toward the beam's origin, not looking back as he spoke.
"Haa... Why save me?" Zhao Ying Wang sprang up, steadying his still-ragged breathing. "That was a perfect chance—you could've earned at least one point."
"Victory is victory, points are points", Hong Hu replied. "This duel between us shouldn't end like this." He paused. "Besides... if you died, wouldn't that mean I'd have to face that middle school syndrome And an unknown enemy alone?"
"Ahhhh—" Tian Ma Xing Kong's anguished cry came from a short distance away.
Hong Hu and Zhao Ying Wang turned to see Brother Horse dramatically wiping imaginary tears, hoarsely declaring, "So touching! This is true brotherhood between men!"
"No... This is just a rational choice when normal people face an idiot And an unknown threat..." Hong Hu mentally facepalmed.
"Rain Dragon, I thought you were just some coward hiding behind ranged attacks", Tian Ma Xing Kong suddenly shouted toward Hong Hu. "Never expected you to have such backbone!"
Adjusting his glasses, Hong Hu dryly responded, "Brother Tian Ma... Would you please do me a favor? If you retain any self-awareness as a human... remember my ID: Hong Hu."
"Hahaha!" Zhao Ying Wang actually laughed heartily for once. "Now that you mention it... there actually IS similarity!"
Hong Hu snorted. "Nonsense. Besides hairstyle, glasses, white robes, gloves, and a bow and arrow, what exactly are we sharing?"
"Even just the similarities you listed are plenty!" Zhao Ying Wang shot back.
"Excuse me." Suddenly, a fourth voice system activated, interrupting their banter.
Appearing at the street's far end stood a figure faintly glowing across their entire body.
"Gentlemen Players." Y2-Shining's voice carried a bell-like resonance, his tone projecting remarkably far. "Might I request... you accompany me elsewhere?"
"Real smooth with the threats before greetings", Zhao Ying Wang stepped forward, his eyes sharpening. "That beam earlier was from you, wasn't it? Do you make it a habit to half-kill people before talking?"
"If they perish from such an attack", Y2-Shining calmly advanced while answering, "they'd never have been worth capturing in the first place."
"Bastard..." Zhao Ying Wang muttered furiously, genuinely enraged.
"Hold on..." Hong Hu suddenly noticed something. "What exactly did you call us?"
"Players", Y2-Shining confirmed. "Unless you'd prefer denying it?"
"Who are you?" Hong Hu instinctively blurted, correcting himself a second later. "No... What are you?"
"What am I?" Y2-Shining repeated, scoffing. "An intriguing question. Actually, you should be the ones answering that. Why ask us?"
At this, Hong Hu's expression darkened sharply, while Zhao Ying Wang and Tian Ma Xing Kong merely looked confused.
"Your lines have quite the flair..."
Another voice suddenly descended from above. Instantly recognizing Feng Bu Jue's tone, Hong Hu and Zhao Ying Wang both tilted their heads upward.
"But your 'answer' refers to a broad definition", Feng Bu Jue leaned down from a rooftop, joining the conversation. "Hong Hu's question was far narrower—he simply asked for your classification. You needed only answer 'derivative being.'"
