Chapter 463: The Illusory Battlefield (Part 6): A Devastating Victory
Chapter 463: The Illusory Battlefield (Part 6): A Devastating Victory
Su Yu had no intention of holding back against this "human vs. AI" level opponent.
In less than a minute, his conical formation sliced through the disorganized ranks of the Caucasian player like a sharp blade.
Shield bearers stood at the front, absorbing the brunt of the attacks, while spear wielders positioned themselves behind the shields, thrusting their weapons into the enemy.
Priests cast healing light on wounded allies, and archers unleashed a relentless barrage of arrows at the enemy’s rear.
Cavalry units flanked and maneuvered around the battlefield, while mages combined their efforts to cast powerful area-of-effect spells.
Each unit performed its role to perfection, working in harmony as if they were seasoned veterans.
On the other hand, the Caucasian player’s forces crumbled under the disciplined assault of Su Yu’s army, unable to mount any effective resistance.
Su Yu calmly directed his troops, systematically cutting down the enemy.
Within just two minutes, the majority of the opposing army was annihilated.
Finally, under a synchronized volley from the archers, the Caucasian player, who was positioned at the center of the enemy formation, was successfully killed. Su Yu’s army secured the first "Pursue the Enemy" buff of the match.
The entire process was smooth and efficient.
While Su Yu was dealing with the Caucasian player, the rest of the battlefield erupted into chaos.
Gaining the buff early provided a significant advantage, so out of the 20 armies, 10 were engaged in one-on-one battles, 6 were teaming up to take on a single opponent, and the remaining 4 remained on the sidelines.
Coincidentally, these 4 armies were all located on the eastern side of the battlefield, while Su Yu was positioned to the north.
The 4 armies continued to observe the battle, hesitating to join in.
However, they soon noticed Su Yu’s overwhelming performance.
Seeing his well-organized forces crush the enemy with ease, the commanders of the 4 armies immediately realized they were facing a formidable opponent.
As the saying goes, "The tallest tree in the forest is the first to be struck by the wind."
Three of the four armies moved in unison toward Su Yu, intent on eliminating this major threat.
The fourth army, however, remained calm and stationary, its intentions unclear.
"Counter, what do you plan to do?" the cat on his shoulder turned to look at him.
"Fight, of course! It’s just three times the number of enemies. I can handle it," Su Yu replied with a confident smile.
In these strategic battles, the commander's skill played a crucial role in the army's effectiveness.
For instance, when Su Yu faced Tina, he often needed three times the number of troops to match her.
Now, against three "Iron" level players, he felt no fear in taking them on one by one.
Su Yu commanded his troops to shift from the conical formation to a more aggressive "Spearhead" formation and charged toward the nearest enemy army.
The commanders of the three armies were taken aback.
Even with the "All Attributes +20%" buff on Su Yu’s forces, wasn’t it a bit presumptuous to take on three armies at once? Or was it his confidence in his superior skills?
The battlefield was a place of rapid change, and before they could think it over, Su Yu’s mages cast "Haste" to accelerate their movement. In less than half a minute, they covered 400 meters and reached the front lines.
The three commanders had no time to think and had to hastily prepare for battle.
The nearest army was led by a fellow Chinese player, the second by a Caucasian woman, and the third by a middle-aged man with a beard. The latter was too far away to identify his nationality clearly.
"Magicians, form the 'Arcane Convergence Array'!" Su Yu shouted, directing his mages to form a complex formation.
"Archers, target coordinates (1456, 6327), fire!" he continued to command.
This location was where the Caucasian woman was standing.
Whoosh! Whoosh! Whoosh!
The sound of bowstrings echoed as hundreds of arrows soared into the sky.
Su Yu used a Flash Step to leap into the center of the Arcane Convergence Array, harnessing its power to forcibly merge all the arrows in the sky.
The hundreds of originally scattered arrows were fused into a single "missile" brimming with destructive energy, hurtling toward the Caucasian woman.
The woman was taken aback, but the arrows were too fast for her to dodge.
Although the priests behind her had cast over a dozen Holy Shields on her without her command, the sheer power of the attack was too overwhelming to be stopped.
Thud! Thud!
The "missile" struck her squarely, the sound of steel piercing flesh ringing out. The woman vanished in a flash of white light, along with her army.
Su Yu's army received a second layer of buffs, accelerating once more. The troops' morale reached its peak, and they charged at the army led by the Chinese player with overwhelming force.
The remaining two armies were completely stunned!
They couldn't believe such a tactic was possible.
Su Yu's maneuver had transformed the archer units from "pea shooters" into "corn cannons."
How were they supposed to know the mage units had such capabilities?
But it was too late.
Su Yu's army surged into the Chinese player's forces like wolves into a flock of sheep. With a 40% boost and a significant tactical advantage, any resistance was laughable.
In a single clash, the Chinese player's army was shattered.
Even before the middle-aged bearded player's army arrived, Su Yu was confident he could completely annihilate him!
The Chinese commander was in a panic. He turned to look at the middle-aged bearded player, who was less than 200 meters away, hoping for help.
But what he saw nearly made him collapse.
The middle-aged bearded player had stopped advancing and was now retreating. He was afraid!
A wave of despair washed over the Chinese player.
"Fine, I surrender." The Chinese player shook his head in defeat and left the illusionary map.
Su Yu's army gained another layer of buffs, stacking up to three layers.
...
By this point, the one-on-one and two-on-one battles had just concluded, leaving 11 armies on the field.
The commanders of these armies scanned the battlefield, and without exception, their gazes converged on Su Yu.
Because Su Yu's army had three layers of buffs!
Of the 11 surviving armies, six had one layer of buffs, and four had none at all.
Su Yu's army with three layers of buffs was simply too powerful!
And Su Yu wasn't going to stop at three.
As these commanders observed the battlefield, Su Yu was already leading his army in a relentless assault against the middle-aged bearded player's forces.
The bearded player's army was taking heavy losses and had no means to fight back. Within two minutes, his army would be crushed under Su Yu's iron hooves.
Seeing this, the commanders of the remaining nine armies felt a jolt of alarm. They all had the same thought: They had to eliminate Su Yu quickly, or no one would be able to stop him from growing even stronger!
Eight of the nine armies moved in unison, heading straight for Su Yu.
The only army that didn't move was the one that had remained stationary from the beginning.
This army was still standing in place, and it was unclear what the commander was thinking.
