Chapter 462: Feng Ye: I'll Handle This
Chapter 462: Feng Ye: I'll Handle This
Angel Island was bustling with activity as pedestrians walked to and fro.
Leading the way, Skypiean girl Luo Ya walked ahead of Feng Ye and Robin, introducing them to various specialties of Skypiea, including snacks sold by street vendors.
"These Sky Shrimp are delicious. They're much more tender and juicy than the shrimp from the Blue Sea," Feng Ye commented as he took a bite out of a grilled shrimp the size of two palms.
"Really?" Robin looked on curiously, to which Feng Ye offered her the grilled shrimp.
As Robin took a bite, Luo Ya, standing not far away, blushed and turned her head, muttering about their close relationship.
The group continued down the street and soon arrived in front of a furniture store. Inside were various Skyland furniture pieces that had already been cut and crafted, as well as raw materials yet to be processed.
"This would make a great bed," Hancock remarked as she caressed a Skyland sofa displayed outside the store.
"The price of Skyland furniture usually depends on the craftsmanship," Luo Ya explained. "The more intricate and finely crafted the furniture is, the higher its value. Conversely, the simpler and more crude the piece, the cheaper it is. Skyland itself doesn't hold much value; it's mostly the processing fees that factor into the price."
"Hmm, then we won't buy any," Robin said thoughtfully. "We can just take some Skyland with us when we leave and shape it into whatever we want."
"Actually, processing Skyland can be quite troublesome..." Luo Ya whispered.
Robin smiled faintly and replied, "That's not a problem."
After all, Feng Ye could effortlessly shape mud and earth into whatever he desired, so Skyland, being of similar properties, wouldn't pose any difficulty.
"Er..." Luo Ya saw that Robin seemed confident and refrained from offering further advice.
As she looked around, intending to introduce something else, her expression suddenly changed as she spotted a group of White Beret troops marching toward them at the end of the street.
"Hey there! Everyone, please make way!"
The White Beret troops served as Skypiea's patrol force. Upon spotting Feng Ye's group, they made their way directly toward them, clearing a space in the crowd.
Their captain, McKinley, addressed Feng Ye with a solemn expression. "Pardon the interruption, visitors from the Blue Sea. You have violated Skypiea's illegal entry law!"
"Huh? Even if we were directly washed ashore by the sea currents, it's still considered illegal entry?!" Luo Ya exclaimed in surprise.
She recalled that only those who failed to pay the entry fee at the Gate of Heaven and forcibly entered Skypiea would be considered illegal entrants. She didn't think the same rule applied to those who were accidentally washed up on the shore.
"That is how the law is written," McKinley asserted sternly, facing Luo Ya. "Please do not obstruct the execution of our duties."
A bead of sweat formed on Luo Ya's forehead as she glanced at Feng Ye and Robin. She quickly bowed and apologized, "Yes, I'm sorry... I didn't know that even this would be considered illegal entry, or else I wouldn't have brought you to the island... I'm very sorry..."
"It's fine," Feng Ye dismissed her concerns with a casual laugh, gently lifting Luo Ya with his left hand. "Even without your guidance, we would have made it to the island."
Luo Ya bit her lip, her face filled with remorse. "But..."
Before she could figure out how to express her apology, Robin turned to McKinley and the others, a thoughtful look on her face. "Illegal entry? Does Skypiea prohibit outsiders from entering?"
McKinley replied in a low voice, "No, anyone can enter for tourism by paying 10 billion Sky Island ikur, or 100,000 Belly in your Blue Sea currency. However, since you've entered illegally, the fine is ten times that amount..."
Boom!!!
Before McKinley could finish his sentence, he was sent flying by a powerful force, crashing into a building in the distance and reducing it to rubble.
The sudden turn of events left the White Beret troops and Skypiean residents, including Luo Ya, stunned and silent, as the street fell into an eerie quiet.
"Don't waste our time with your nonsense!" Hancock withdrew her gaze, her tone cold and aloof.
It was clear that the troops had come looking for trouble, and Robin, though patient enough to hear them out, knew that Hancock had little tolerance for such provocations. A kick was her simple solution.
"Honestly..." Robin sighed, casting a glance at Hancock.
Hancock's personality had always been like this, not just on Skypiea but on other islands as well. Once she felt offended, she rarely wanted to communicate further, often turning minor issues that could have been resolved with words into physical confrontations.
After a brief silence...
"How dare you attack the White Beret troops..."
Luo Ya's face turned pale, and her body trembled as she said, "Quick, hurry and run! Attacking the White Beret troops is punishable by death..."
"Don't worry," Robin reassured, placing a gentle hand on Luo Ya's shoulder and smiling. "We are very strong, and it won't be easy for them to carry out a death sentence on us."
Luo Ya looked at Robin, trembling, and was about to say that even with their strength, they were still only three people, and there was no way they could take on the White Beret troops. But before she could finish her thought, the battle suddenly erupted.
Reacting to the threat, the numerous soldiers of the White Beret troops nocked their arrows and took aim at Hancock. At the vice-captain's command, they released a volley of cloud arrows.
However...
Facing the strange arrows that came flying towards her, Hancock merely extended her hand forward calmly, and a pink, heart-shaped radiance blossomed from her palm.
The incoming arrows and cloud streams turned into stone in mid-air, spreading backwards and instantly turning a dozen or so White Beret troops members behind them into frozen statues!
This startling display caused the nearby islanders' eyes to bulge.
Luo Ya was also taken aback by the display of Hancock's power.
But before she could recover from her shock, a voice suddenly rang out, interrupting the moment.
"So, it's not some weaklings after all. You possess the power of the Devil Fruit?"
Upon hearing this voice, the residents of Skypiea on the street, as well as Luo Ya and the others, stiffened. They slowly looked up and saw a figure hovering in the air.
Crackle!
Lightning arcs danced around the figure.
"God Enel..."
Fear flashed in Luo Ya's eyes, and she unconsciously took a step back, falling to the ground.
In Skypiea, no one dared to defy Enel's power. He commanded the power of lightning and held not only the status of a god but also possessed abilities akin to a true deity!
Bathed in lightning, Enel stood tall in the sky, looking down at Hancock with contempt. "To be able to crush my subordinates so easily, your strength is indeed extraordinary, woman of the Blue Sea. Then..."
Swish!
In an instant, Enel's body crackled with lightning, and he vanished, only to reappear right in front of Hancock. His right leg glowed with dazzling lightning as he kicked towards her.
"I, the God, shall personally deliver divine punishment upon you!"
The Goro Goro no Mi, also known as the Rumble-Rumble Fruit, was one of the strongest Devil Fruits, even considered nearly unbeatable among all Devil Fruits.
It granted the user incredible speed, allowing them to move at lightning speed, and its offensive power was unparalleled. Even at its most basic level, this Devil Fruit far surpassed most other abilities.
In that moment, Enel displayed speed akin to teleportation!
However, despite the speed and power of his lightning-fast attack, it had absolutely no effect.
Boom!
Hancock, with a cold and proud look in her eyes, was completely unfazed by Enel's display of speed and lightning power. She kicked back with a leg imbued with Armament Haki.
The two kicks collided, creating a brilliant burst of lightning that crackled and danced in the street.
The resulting shockwave caused the nearby ground to shatter.
The Skypiea residents cried out in fear and fled in all directions.
One stray bolt of lightning streaked towards Luo Ya, who had fallen to the ground, but Robin calmly waved her hand, dispersing the lightning in mid-air.
"Don't dare to call yourself a god in front of me!"
"You arrogant fool!"
A cold glint flashed in Hancock's eyes, and with a forceful push, she shattered the nearby lightning.
Feng Ye, on this vast sea, held the title of being the closest to a god, and Enel's audacity to proclaim himself a god was something Hancock could not tolerate.
If Feng Ye was the closest to a god, then in her eyes, no one in this world was worthy of bearing the title 'god'!
Enel felt a powerful impact travel through the point of collision, and his ability was ignored as the attack struck his physical body. He struggled to resist, but ultimately, he couldn't maintain his form, and he was sent flying backward.
"Six Thousand Volt - Thunder Dragon!"
Rumble, rumble!!!
Lightning weaved together, forming a thunderous dragon that plummeted from the sky, charging towards Hancock.
Hancock's eyes flickered, and her figure blurred as she retreated a step, evading Enel's attack. She then lashed out with a kick, causing the island cloud ground to dent.
Whoosh!
Hancock appeared in the sky, kicking towards Enel.
Enel's Heart-of-the-World captured Hancock's movement, and before her attack could land, he vanished with a pata, creating a distance of several dozen meters between them.
"Divine Punishment!"
He pressed down with his hand, and lightning crackled and fell towards Hancock.
Hancock struck out, dispersing the lightning, and then flicked her finger at Enel. Pink arrows burst forth, speeding towards him.
Enel dodged once more, relying on his speed and Heart-of-the-World.
The two were at a brief stalemate.
"As expected of the user of the Rumble-Rumble Fruit..."
Robin looked up at the sky and commented, "Despite only being able to use Observation Haki, she's able to fight head-on against Hancock."
Feng Ye smiled gently and said, "He combines the power of the Rumble-Rumble Fruit and Observation Haki very well. If he continues to develop this ability, he could become a top-tier strong fighter."
The power of the Rumble-Rumble Fruit was very compatible with Observation Haki.
The people of Skypiea referred to Observation Haki as the Heart-of-the-World, and Enel's Heart-of-the-World could cover the entire Skypiea, something that even many top-tier strong fighters proficient in Observation Haki found difficult to achieve.
If Enel further developed this ability and honed his Observation Haki to the point of predicting the future, and also learned Armament Haki, he would be strong enough to rival a Marine Admiral.
Even the current Enel was no weakling.
Of course...
When compared horizontally, Hancock's strength was slightly stronger than Donquixote Doflamingo's, only slightly weaker than a Marine Admiral. The main reason Enel could hold his ground against Hancock was that he seemed unaffected by her charm.
In Enel's eyes, there seemed to be no concept of man or woman; he saw himself as a god. As a result, he was almost immune to the effects of Hancock's Mero Mero Fruit.
Although Hancock had gained a lot of chakra from Enel, she had mainly used it to enhance her physique and vitality. Her primary means of attack were still her Haki and the powers of the Mero Mero Fruit, and now that the fruit's influence was greatly weakened, her advantage was diminished.
This led to the brief stalemate in the battle.
Both Feng Ye and Robin quickly deduced why Hancock couldn't swiftly defeat Enel. The Skypiean girl, Luo Ya, and the other Skypiean residents watched the battle between Hancock and Enel with disbelief.
On the one hand, the charm emitted by Hancock affected many Skypiean residents. On the other hand, they were shocked by Hancock's strength, which could rival Enel's!
"So... so strong..."
Luo Ya watched the battle between Hancock and Enel with awe-struck eyes.
She witnessed Enel's lightning attacks being shattered and crushed by Hancock, their battle raging from the sky to the ground, the terrifying force seemingly capable of tearing the island apart!
Rumble, rumble!!!
Another bolt of lightning fell from the sky, reducing several buildings to rubble.
Robin glanced at the destruction caused by the battle between Enel and Hancock, her eyes flickering, and then turned to Feng Ye and asked, "It looks like Hancock can't win quickly. If they continue fighting, it will cause a lot of damage to this island. Do you need me to help her?"
She still didn't want to see Skypiea badly damaged.
After all, they had just arrived, and she hadn't had the chance to properly sightsee. Moreover, the scenery here was indeed a fantastical place rarely seen during their long journey.
Feng Ye understood Robin's thoughts and shook his head as he stepped forward, looking up at Hancock and smiling gently.
"Hancock, let me handle this."
His voice wasn't loud, but it reached Hancock's ears clearly, causing her to pause for a moment. After a brief hesitation, she landed behind Feng Ye.
She felt a little disappointed that she couldn't quickly defeat Enel, but she also knew that with Enel's speed, if he wanted to flee, she wouldn't be able to stop him. Continuing the fight would not lead to a resolution.
"Feng Ye..."
Hancock looked at Feng Ye.
Feng Ye nodded slightly and continued forward.
