Chapter 462: Dumbledore's Anomaly
Chapter 462: Dumbledore's Anomaly
"No, I don't need so many Firebolts. Are they just for show? My house can't even fit them all!"
Hearing Sirius Black's extravagant words, Ivan was speechless. He wondered if the Black ancestors would be furious if they knew!
Ivan shook his head inwardly but quickly turned to the matter at hand and asked.
"By the way, Sirius, you said the Wizengamot has scheduled Peter's execution for seven days from now? Why wait so long?"
"Of course, it's because of Mrs. Pettigrew!" Sirius, recalling what happened in the courtroom, sighed silently and continued to explain to Ivan.
"After you finished your testimony, the Chief Warlock announced the final verdict, planning to execute Peter Pettigrew that night. But Mrs. Pettigrew firmly disagreed with the trial, strongly demanding a retrial, even fainting in the courtroom from crying!
The Chief Warlock and the other Wizengamot members considered that they had been apart for over ten years and were about to part ways forever, so they postponed the execution by a week to allow them to see each other a few more times."
At this point, Sirius also sighed.
Although Peter had caused him and James a lot of pain, now that he was unexpectedly reduced to an amnesiac and facing death, it no longer made sense to hold onto past grudges.
Everyone fell silent, and Harry, recalling his mother who died to protect him from Voldemort, couldn't help but feel some sympathy for the ill-tempered Mrs. Pettigrew.
"Who knows if she can bear this blow", Hermione sighed.
Seeing the atmosphere suddenly turn heavy, Sirius quickly changed the topic to talk about celebrating his successful exoneration in Hogsmeade, which reminded Harry and the others of the happy things.
Dumbledore returned to the waiting room shortly after, with Fawkes still perched on his shoulder. After resting, the large golden-red bird had regained its energy and looked vibrant.
Since Sirius had been successfully exonerated, they no longer needed to stay, so they left the Ministry of Magic together once everyone was gathered.
Riding the elevator back to the London streets, hearing the distant honking of cars, Ivan couldn't help but feel as if he had been transported to another world.
The Muggles living in London probably never imagined that there was a group of wizards with special abilities living beneath the city.
"Alright, let's stop here. It's a good spot, and no one is passing by. Hold my hand, and I'll take you back!" Dumbledore looked around, noticing that no one was nearby, and said.
Ivan and the others nodded, forming a circle as they had when they arrived, except this time there was one more person.
"Aren't you going to go home first?" Dumbledore looked at Sirius, who was approaching, a bit surprised.
"Spending a few days at Hogwarts sounds nice. I promised the kids I'd take them to Hogsmeade for a good time", Sirius explained.
Dumbledore nodded, saying nothing more.
However, the phoenix on his shoulder let out a dissatisfied cry. Carrying six people for a long-distance Apparition was too much for the phoenix.
After all, each additional person doubled the magical energy required!
Dumbledore was also in a bind. Just as he was about to suggest splitting into two groups for the Apparition, Ivan suggested,
"Professor, we can Apparate to Hogsmeade first and then return to the castle!"
"Great idea! Since you're off today, let's celebrate and then head back!" Sirius Black's eyes lit up as he spoke.
Harry and Ron readily agreed; they had no desire to return to school so early.
Dumbledore didn't dampen anyone's spirits and readily agreed.
"Then Harry and I will leave first. We'll meet you at Honeydukes!" Sirius laughed, grabbed Harry, and immediately Apparated, disappearing from the spot.
"Come on, Mr. Weasley! We need to hurry to avoid any misunderstandings", Dumbledore beckoned to Ron, slightly worried that Sirius's sudden appearance in Hogsmeade might cause some commotion.
"What about Ivan and Hermione?" Ron asked.
"I'm sure they'll manage!" Dumbledore knew that Ivan could Apparate, so he only took Ron with him, placing his right hand on Ron's shoulder and waving the Elder Wand with his left.
As the two Apparated away, Ivan felt a slight sense of unease. If he remembered correctly, Professor Dumbledore wasn't left-handed.
"Ivan! We should go!" Hermione noticed that Ivan seemed distracted and reminded him.
"Ah, right!" Ivan snapped back to reality, nodded, and took the young witch's hand.
"Apparate!"
As the spell was cast, the space around them distorted and swirled like a vortex, pulling them in and then spitting them out the next moment.
When they steadied themselves, they had arrived in the wizarding village of Hogsmeade from the Muggle city of London.
It was already evening, and the sunset cast a warm glow over the sky. A large number of older students in their school robes were leisurely wandering around, their voices and laughter filling the air.
Ivan sensed the magic within him and realized that this long-distance Apparation had only consumed about a quarter of his magic, much less than he had anticipated.
This was not only due to the increase in his magic after fusing with the Boggart's bloodline but also because his Apparation spell had advanced to level five, significantly reducing the magical cost.
As Ivan pondered this, a shrill scream suddenly rang out in the distance.
"It's Sirius Black!"
The sudden scream drew the attention of the surrounding students, and Ivan turned to look.
Sirius Black was standing boldly in front of Honeydukes, holding several bags of candy. The scream had come from the shop's owner.
Coincidentally, a wanted poster was still plastered on the candy shop's door, featuring Sirius's face and a hefty reward of ten thousand Galleons.
"Yes, it's me! Could you please pack all the new candies you have?"
Sirius acknowledged it with a generous smile, but seeing the owner's fearful expression, he sighed in frustration, feeling a bit disappointed.
"You should read the latest Daily Prophet. It talks a lot about me! Today is the Wizengamot Court's retrial, and since I'm innocent, they let me out. Understand?"
