Chapter 462: Celestial Horse Unleashed
Chapter 462: Celestial Horse Unleashed
Elsewhere in the city, Hong Hu and Zhao Ying Wang were making their way toward the Explosive Tunnel.
Naturally, they didn’t fully trust each other—maintaining a distance of about ten meters apart, just in case.
"Speaking of which… you’re taking this pretty easily", Hong Hu remarked, glancing sideways at Zhao Ying Wang, who was riding atop his bloodstone Demon while Hong Hu sprinted forward. "In a scenario like this, you just summon your entity at the start, then conserve strength the whole time without even walking?"
“Ah?” Zhao Ying Wang shot him a sidelong look. “Even if you stare at me with that sincerity, I won’t let you ride up here.”
“Hmph,” Hong Hu muttered, adjusting his glasses. “Deflecting, are we?”
His earlier comment, of course, hadn’t been a serious request to hitch a ride. It was a test—a way to gauge Zhao Ying Wang’s responses for details about the bloodstone Demon’s control mechanics, duration, or whether summoning it drained resources afterward.
But Zhao Ying Wang wasn’t naive either. He’d deflected with a casual quip, leaving Hong Hu empty-handed.
Roar—
As their banter continued, the bloodstone Demon suddenly halted and let out a thunderous roar ahead.
“What’s going on?” Hong Hu stopped sharply, pivoting to inquire.
“No idea… This’s never happened before,” Zhao Ying Wang said, his expression tightening. He hadn’t issued any command for the Demon to stop.
Click-clack… Another eerie sound followed.
The street before them abruptly rose like a wave.
“A Monster?” Hong Hu flipped backward onto a shop signpost in a smooth motion.
Zhao Ying Wang guided the bloodstone Demon to retreat cautiously, leaping down from its shoulder to solid ground. Though his regeneration ranked among the top in the Top 10, the “Freeze” incident had taught him not to underestimate any Npc or Monster.
“Fascinating being…” The rising earth grew higher, taking on a humanoid shape. Its voice was deep, almost guttural. “A false life born of blood and dirt—no wisdom, no self-awareness. Even its basic five senses are borrowed from others…” The figure revealed its true form: a four-meter-tall, blue-skinned giant with white hair. Its muscular frame seemed carved into a living sculpted armor, and its long white hair flowed like a colossal tail behind it.
“But… this creature, relying only on instinct, discovered my presence. And yet you two—deceitful and arrogant—remain oblivious, utterly inept.” The Seer swept a disdainful gaze over Zhao Ying Wang and Hong Hu.
“This one…” Hong Hu’s eyes narrowed behind his glasses. “He’s strong.” He quickly raised his voice, warning Zhao Ying Wang, “Watch out! This isn’t like any ordinary scenario boss—”
“Celestial Horse Meteor Strike Punch!”
Suddenly, a thunderous cry rang out, followed by a household martial arts name. A blur of motion surged into the uncertain battlefield.
A man clad in red undergarments and draped in a white saintly cloak descended from the sky. His fists unleashed countless white bursts of force, a cascade as relentless as a meteor shower.
“Crap… A total idiot’s here,” Hong Hu muttered upon recognizing the newcomer.
The Seer merely tilted his head, watching the player attack from his flank. “Hmph… Arrogance personified.” He didn’t dodge. The barrage struck his muscles harmlessly.
Seconds later, the attacker landed and struck a dramatic combat pose. “Evil giant! Face justice’s judgment!” he declared, eyes burning with righteous fervor.
“You’ve gotta be…” Zhao Ying Wang, familiar with the finalists’ profiles, recognized the thick eyebrows and large eyes instantly.
“Correct! I am justice’s hero!” The man kept shifting poses mid-conversation. “Celes…tial… Horse… Un…leashed!” He enunciated his ID one syllable at a time, each accompanied by a new pose.
“He mimicked the Ginyu Force’s entire pose-repertoire in five seconds…” Hong Hu inwardly fumed. “His idiocy’s only grown since last time…”
Zhao Ying Wang, stunned on multiple levels, hesitated. “Listen, Brother Horse… Though it’s not my place, I should remind you—we’re rivals here. You don’t need to jump in to help us.”
“Ha! Ha-ha-ha!” Celestial Horse Unleashed laughed arrogantly, closing one eye as he tilted his head. He raised his index finger, wagging it at Zhao Ying Wang. “Hmph… Commoner, heroes don’t dwell on such details.”
“Idiots don’t heed warnings,” Hong Hu’s face mirrored his first reaction seeing his girlfriend without makeup.
“Even if you scorn me, even if you stab from behind, I’ll still save you from this evil!” Celestial Horse Unleashed declared, then whirled to point at the Seer. “Villain! You endured my lightspeed punches—impressive for a common thug!”
“If I truly wished to kill you,” the Seer said coldly, “you’d never have lived long enough to babble here.” He paused. “Also… Are you certain you understand what lightspeed entails?”
“Celestial Meteor Strike Punch!” Another roar, another attack.
Same technique, same target. Same result.
“You lot of battle-mad otherworldly travelers…” The Seer sighed. “I simply stood here, yet you assumed hostility. Why? Is it merely my appearance?” His voice sharpened. “Your race harbors innate disdain for those differing from your aesthetic ideals. Yet I see no basis for your sense of superiority.” His gaze shifted from disdain to contempt.
“Err… You…” Celestial Horse Unleashed dropped to his knees, stunned. “Did I… misjudge you? Judging by looks… How shallow I’ve been!”
“Don’t drag the word ‘shallow’ into this,” Hong Hu mumbled.
“Ah-ha!” Celestial Horse Unleashed suddenly leapt up. “So the villains are you two! Your deceit led me to strike this kind giant!”
“Though you’ve allied with me now…” The Seer’s expression soured further, “I must clarify—I’m not kind, nor am I considered ‘ugly’ by my race’s standards.”
“Justice’s fury burns bright! You’ll meet your reckoning!” Celestial Horse Unleashed ignored him entirely, charging toward the two players.
“A Top 20 combatant with middle school syndrome?” Zhao Ying Wang mused. “His ‘Celestial Horse Saint Cloth’ looks mall-bought… And his skills are literally ‘Meteor Strike Punch’… He’s cosplaying a Saint, even the hairstyle matches.”
“Don’t underestimate him, Zhao Ying Wang,” Hong Hu warned, nocking an arrow. “The hardest foes in this world are madmen… and [bleep].”
Zhao Ying Wang surprisingly nodded. “Precisely. Their logic’s unpredictable.”
