Chapter 460: Fury
Kai Xiusu saw the scene and swept his wings, unleashing a scorching hurricane that carried Ash in its wake, rising into the sky to face the Fire Giant Pasha across the void. Behind him, steam clouds churned violently, Spines of blinding lightning writhing within, while rain-like flames poured down from above. A near-tangible aura of draconic might spilled outward, radiating an overwhelming sense of intimidation. Its reach extended nearly a kilometer around the Red Dragon, instilling in every creature within that realm an instinctive urge to worship.
Fire Giant versus Red Dragon.
The standoff was nothing short of epic.
Kai Xiusu’s pale golden eyes narrowed slightly as he studied the distant Fire Giant.
“So this is Pasha…”
“The strongest among the Sultan’s lieutenants in the Fire Titan Realm.”
This creature stood nearly ten meters tall, broad-shouldered and powerfully built—his strength undeniable. Yet, to Kai Xiusu, he was nothing more than a trivial obstacle.
As a direct servant of the Great Sultan and one of the apex figures in the Fire Titan Realm, the Pasha was adorned in shimmering golden light, his gear exquisitely refined. Even the bracelet on his wrist barely scraped the Legendary Rank, while his primary weapon—a bronze curved blade—was a masterpiece of legendary craftsmanship.
But what truly caught Kai Xiusu’s attention was the intricate, layered ring of refined gold coiled around the Fire Giant’s neck, each band etched with ancient, mysterious flame patterns. From it, Kai Xiusu sensed a faint, almost divine resonance.
“A servant like this commands such wealth… Truly enviable. No wonder this realm has endured for millennia—its depth of legacy is staggering.”
Kai Xiusu murmured, almost wistful.
Yet deep within his pale golden irises, unhidden greed burned like embers.
Ismael Enver glared fiercely at the distant dragon, his rugged, crimson face twisted with fury. But in his eyes—blazing with fire—flickered a trace of dread.
“Ancient Red Dragon…”
“Damn it… How in the abyss did Hamid, that fool, provoke something this dangerous?”
The Great Sultan was preoccupied with the relentless assault of the so-called “Holy Flame Prince,” and thus had not taken the “Soul-Eating Dragon” seriously. Still, for the sake of stability behind the lines, he had sent Ismael to deal with the threat. As a direct servant of the Sultan, the Pasha had accepted the task willingly.
But Ismael had never imagined that the creature emerging from the Black Iron City would be an existence of Ancient Dragon level.
Even he lacked full confidence in defeating a Primordial Dragon.
And a Red Dragon? That was beyond reckoning.
At that moment, the Red Dragon high in the sky spoke.
“Hah… Pasha.”
“Your Great Sultan truly lacks manners. Sending only a lowly servant to greet me?”
“I thought… you’d come personally to apologize.”
Kai Xiusu grinned, his tone dripping with unmasked contempt.
The Fire Giant Pasha’s face twisted in rage, his eyes blazing with fire.
“Red Dragon!”
“You dare push too far!”
He let out a thunderous roar that shook the sky.
One of the six Pashas who stood atop the hierarchy of the Fire Titan Realm, for thousands of years, his status as a direct servant of the Great Sultan had been a source of pride. And now, this dragon had insulted the Great Sultan directly—demeaning his own rank!
Ismael raised his curved blade, pointing its锋 toward the sky, targeting the Red Dragon.
“Red Dragon! Are you provoking the Great Sultan? Declaring war on the Fire Giant Empire?”
“War?” Kai Xiusu feigned confusion.
“Or is it you who first insulted and provoked me, you officials of the Fire Giant Empire? I merely defended the dignity of my realm—launching a counterattack in righteous fury.”
He paused, then smirked.
“And besides… your Great Sultan was just stabbed by the Holy Flame Prince. He’s likely lying in the City of Brass right now. Does he even have time for a battle with me?”
Ismael froze—speechless, his face flushing with rage. He opened his mouth to retort, but before he could, the Red Dragon flared his wings, summoning a searing storm that tore across the heavens.
No more words. He wanted to taste this so-called Pasha—to see if he was truly worth the effort.
A rippling shriek split the air, followed by a piercing scream in the ears.
“Shua—”
In just a few breaths, the Red Dragon had soared hundreds of meters, now hovering directly above the Fire Giant.
Dark clouds gathered behind him, unleashing dazzling, blinding lightning.
“Boom!”
“Boom! Boom!”
Thunder roared, shaking the earth.
Massive bolts—thick as a man’s thigh—crackled down from the sky, illuminating the surroundings as they struck the Fire Giant’s head.
“Lightning?”
“How… impossible. It’s a Red Dragon!”
Ismael frowned, his expression hardening. He raised his left hand, gripping a heavy hide shield studded with metal rivets—crafted from the thick hide of an ancient beast. 【Ancient Beasts’ Shield】, a legendary-grade item with exceptional magical resistance.
The Fire Giant’s body flared with glowing runes, and a protective Flame Shield materialized above him, forming a massive hemisphere to deflect the onslaught.
“Ziziz—Boom!”
Electricity surged, the shield flickered violently, energy colliding in explosive bursts. The lightning forced its way through, leaving scorched marks on the shield.
Yet the Fire Giant remained unharmed—unfazed. With a roar, he lifted his blade, striking the shield in defiance.
“Pathetic! Weak attacks!”
“Red Dragon! You cannot defeat the warrior of the Great Sultan!”
Ismael bellowed, pounding the shield with his weapon’s hilt, his body’s intricate fire carvings glowing fiercely.
“We Fire Giants are the natural masters of the Elemental Plane of Fire!”
“Always and forever!”
His eyes blazed with the radiant fire-light of a Fire Titan Noble’s innate talent spell—Firestorm Surge.
As he locked eyes with the Red Dragon, a violent wind erupted around them, twisting into a monstrous tornado. Flames, ash, and dust swirled within, forming a living inferno that seemed intent on consuming everything in its path.
This spell was on par with a cataclysm—an unstoppable force capable of reducing a human village to rubble, or turning a mortal city into a wasteland of ruins.
Yet Kai Xiusu stood unmoved, unshaken. He casually flapped his wings, a faint, almost amused smile curling his lips.
“Foolish Fire Giant…”
“You dare use such a spell against a noble Red Dragon?”
“Delusional.”
The Red Dragon let out a light, mocking laugh. Then, slowly, he opened his jaws. The violent currents of fire swirling around him were drawn inward, sucked into his maw. Above, a vortex of fire and dust formed in the sky.
With each breath, the Dragon Crystal at his chest glowed brighter. The cracks along his neck pulsed with flickering flame.
“This… is…”
Ismael stared upward, his expression now grave.
For a moment, he’d lost his composure—had forgotten the most basic truth:
The Red Dragon was immune to fire.
A Red Dragon with resistance equal to a Fire Giant?
“Sssssss…”
The final remnants of fire were drawn into Kai Xiusu’s mouth.
With a sweep of his wings, he descended, his pale golden eyes fixed on the ground below, the Fire Giant Pasha. A grotesque, triumphant grin spread across his face.
The Dragon Crystal at his chest blazed like the sun. His porous organs exhaled brilliant, radiant flames and steam. The very body of the dragon seemed to contain energy capable of annihilating all.
“He… he absorbed my spell!”
Ismael looked up, his grip on the shield trembling. The flames and smoke above him danced wildly.
A chilling sense of dread welled up within him—a warning of danger.
The Red Dragon opened his bloody maw once more, light pouring from the cracks between his teeth.
“Boom—”
