Chapter 457: The World Has Already Gone Mad!
Chapter 457: The World Has Already Gone Mad!
Dark clouds spread endlessly as a figure hurtled forward in the distance, compressing the air into a shockwave-like silhouette.
A wisp of streamlined light traced across the sky, heading straight for Dressrosa.
With a sharp clap, the figure landed in the courtyard. The white hooded cloak billowed behind him as it lifted mid-fall, revealing the two bold characters embroidered on its back: Justice.
Navy?
That was the first thought crossing every executive’s mind.
Those who saw his face directly felt cold sweat dripping down.
An explosion-haired man wearing a mask instinctively stepped back, his voice trembling. “Lucius Kro!”
At the name, all executives except Donquixote Doflamingo immediately assumed combat formations, encircling the man in a ring of hostility.
Kuro glanced at them indifferently. He pulled out a cigar case, lit one, and exhaled a plume of smoke before drawling, “Well, greetings, everyone.”
His tone was icy, his expression gloomy.
Trouble had arrived!
“Kshhhkshhkshh.”
Donquixote Doflamingo chuckled instead. “Why so angry? I don’t recall Dressrosa ever offending you.”
Kuro’s gaze flicked toward him, and a dense killing intent surged forth, making Doflamingo’s forehead glisten with sweat.
Raising two fingers, Kuro stated coldly, “Two things. First, help me eliminate that bastard Big Hand Undertaker. Second, hand over the Log Pose to Totto Land.”
“Hey, I’m not your subordinate, Lucius Kro!” A blue vein throbbed on Doflamingo’s temple.
Kuro’s eyes narrowed slightly. His palm lifted, then slowly descended.
The sky above darkened further, its oppressive blackness swallowing the courtyard whole. It felt as if the heavens themselves were collapsing downward, with shadowy tendrils clinging to the void.
“Ah…”
Trebol looked up, emitting an unconscious whimper. His gelatinous body quivered uncontrollably.
A suffocating, annihilating aura coiled around the executives’ hearts.
Everyone was drenched in sweat, yet none dared move.
This was Lucius Kro—the man who had defeated Lucius.
“Doflamingo… you bastard!”
Doflamingo’s face paled as he stared upward, his usual arrogance replaced by fear. “What exactly do you want?!”
The executives might have known little, but he understood best—this man had become a Monster.
Since the Summit War, the signs had already emerged.
“I’m in a bad mood today,” Kuro said flatly. “Don’t provoke me, Heavenly Yaksha.”
He continued, “I know you have channels for the Big Hand Undertaker and the Totto Land Log Pose.”
“Are you threatening me?!”
Doflamingo gritted his teeth. “I’m not afraid of you, Lucius Kro! I’m one of the Seven Warlords of the Sea!”
Kuro remained silent. His expression darkened further as his palm descended again, the abyssal darkness pressing even lower, as if the entire sky might crash down.
“A deal.”
Doflamingo declared, “I’ll handle both requests—but I want a favor in return!”
Kuro’s eyes narrowed.
His main objective wasn’t Doflamingo. After all, the man was both a Seven Warlords of the Sea and a World Noble. Threats were acceptable, but pushing too hard might not just cost him his rank—it could get him expelled from the Navy entirely.
Besides, if a real fight broke out, Doflamingo and his subordinates would be a massive headache.
Moreover, this bastard was one of the few who still held the chains binding those New World Monsters. If he fell, the balance would shatter.
Kuro raised his fingers slightly. The oppressive darkness gradually lifted, the sky clearing as pressure eased.
“Agreed,” Kuro said. “As long as you remain a Seven Warlords of the Sea, I’ll do one thing for you—as long as it doesn’t violate my principles.”
“Deal.”
Doflamingo smirked. “Trebol, get him the Totto Land Log Pose.”
“Yes, Doflamingo.”
Trebol didn’t dare hesitate, squirming into the palace.
“Kshhhkshhkshh,” Doflamingo chuckled nervously. “Now that we’ve struck a deal, could you ease up on the killing intent? My subordinates are genuinely terrified.”
“I already said,” Kuro’s voice was glacial. “I’m in a terrible mood. Do you really want me to vent it on you, Donquixote Doflamingo?”
“Tch.”
Doflamingo pressed his lips together, exhaling sharply. “I’ll handle Piero myself.”
“Doflamingo, here it is.”
Trebol reappeared at the entrance, holding the Log Pose.
Doflamingo tossed it toward Kuro. “There’s your request.”
With a flick of Kuro’s finger, the Log Pose halted mid-air, orbiting his body like a satellite.
Boom!
In an instant, Kuro erupted with a shockwave, vanishing at high speed with the Log Pose trailing him like a comet. The courtyard’s structures were sent flying by the gust, crashing and clattering in chaotic disarray.
“Doflamingo, that ability…”
Diamante swallowed hard. “Is that the…”
“Ah, the Float-Float Fruit,” Doflamingo spat, his blue vein throbbing. “Has that bastard mastered Devil Fruit abilities to this level already?!”
The Log Pose hadn’t even been touched—it had floated on its own.
But how long had it been since he ate that Devil Fruit?!
Shanks died last year!
In just one year, he’d reached this terrifying stage.
Doflamingo’s gloom shifted to a sudden grin. “Kshhhkshhkshh. The world’s about to get interesting. Is he going after Big Mom? Gather intelligence—I want to know everything!”
“Understood, Young Master.”
Gladiador hesitated. “What about the Big Hand Undertaker?”
“Track him down and eliminate him. No—I’ll handle him myself!” Doflamingo’s smile turned sinister. “A favor from a Monster? This is too valuable to waste. That bastard Lucius Kro… he’s suppressing his ambition just like me. One day, it’ll erupt. I know about North Blue—I know his subordinate Dougleg Kas stole Vinsmoke’s achievements. He’s plotting something big.”
“Time to play the game at the highest stakes. A ‘King’ of Darkness… this deal will be massive.”
“But… going after Big Mom? Do you think he’ll survive?” Senior, dressed in a baby outfit, asked cautiously.
“Kshhhkshhkshh!” Doflamingo spread his arms wide. “Let’s see what he’s truly capable of! Is his move a signal from Headquarters? Or a solo gambit forged at Sabaody? Either way… the world has already gone mad!”
