Chapter 454: The True Sword Sect's Legacy
Chapter 454: The True Sword Sect's Legacy
After planting the seeds of two new Holy Infant Spirit Fruits, Lu Chen made his way to a corner of the small courtyard.
In the corner lay an ordinary, dark red stone.
No one could have imagined that within this unremarkable stone lay a Disaster-level demonic creature with Nascent Soul potential—the Flesh Spirit God.
He took out a large pile of flesh from his storage bag and covered the dark red stone with it.
A terrifying aura flashed within the stone, and all the flesh that had gathered around it instantly merged, as if it had never been there.
"This Flesh Spirit God's appetite for flesh is truly frightening."
"Even in its incubation stage, it devours so much."
Lu Chen looked at the dark red stone before him, a worried frown on his face.
In the Underworld Courtyard, the Unusual Longevity Peach and Thousand Coiling Hands both required a significant amount of demonic beast flesh. Now, with the addition of this incubating Flesh Spirit God, it would be challenging to sustain all three spirit plants using normal means.
"I must find a way to increase my resources."
He thought to himself.
After tending to all the spirit plants in the Underworld Courtyard with great care, Lu Chen returned to his original appearance and made his way back to the Celestial Sword Sect.
It was two days until the Treasure Exchange Assembly that Huo Lin'er had mentioned. He went to the Spirit Fields and, using his Earth Escape Technique, arrived at the location of the two two-headed armadillos. He swept away all the Wu Spirit Soil that they had gathered over the years.
Then, with the Wu Spirit Soil and the Heart Ape Fruit in hand, he made his way to the Imperfect Secret Realm.
The secret realm was filled with pure spiritual energy, even more conducive to the growth of spirit plants than the Myriad Demon Cave. Additionally, with the Wu Spirit Soil and the ethereal spring's spiritual dew, planting the fifth-grade Heart Ape Fruit in the secret realm would greatly benefit its growth.
Lu Chen inspected the various spirit plants within the secret realm. The Blazing Flame Fruits and Ice Vine Fruits, despite not being constantly nurtured, were growing at a decent pace and had already entered the maturation stage.
The Sword-Nurturing Gourd, having been nourished by the residual sword qi from the second-hand flying sword, was growing only slightly slower than the Blazing Flame Fruits and had also entered the maturation phase.
Lu Chen could almost see within the mottled green gourds, a multitude of fourth-grade sword talismans being nurtured by the vibrant sword qi.
He returned from the Imperfect Secret Realm and stayed in the sect's cave abode, cultivating numerous spirit plants while waiting for the Treasure Exchange Assembly.
Two days later, he arrived punctually at the location Huo Lin'er had given him.
"Lu Shidi, welcome! Allow me to introduce you to Bai Feiyu Shixiong, a True Disciple of the sect and a master of the sword path. His sword has claimed the lives of countless demons, evil cultivators, and vengeful spirits.
Shixiong and I are the main organizers of this Treasure Exchange Assembly."
Huo Lin'er, clad in a fiery red robe, greeted Lu Chen with a fervent smile and introduced him to the young swordsman standing beside her.
The cultivator had a handsome face and an otherworldly aura, like an exiled immortal. Hanging from his waist was a pure white sword scabbard, from which the hilt of a flying sword was visible—it appeared to be a section of a flood dragon's skeleton.
The moment Lu Chen sensed the Flood Dragon Flying Sword, his own ancient sword scabbard trembled with anticipation, as if it had encountered its dream companion.
"You useless sword! With all the flying swords you've devoured, you're still not satisfied and want more?"
Lu Chen mentally berated his sword, sending a thought to the Nurturing Xuan Sword.
"Greetings, Shixiong Bai," he said politely to the young swordsman.
"Lu Shidi, I've heard about you more than once since my return to the sect," the young man said, a smile playing at the corners of his mouth.
"You and I are both disciples of the Sword Hall. I've been away from the sect for a few years, but when I returned recently, I learned that you, Lu Shidi, had independently discovered a method to condense the seeds of a third-grade sword grass. I am truly impressed."
"So it's Shixiong Bai from the Sword Hall.
Bai Feiyu and Lu Xuan led the way into a luxurious hall.
The floor of the grand hall was laid with third-grade Demon Tiger pelts, and nearly a hundred white jade chairs were arranged neatly. Floating above was a plethora of luminous night pearls, emanating spiritual energy and illuminating the hall. Over a dozen delicate female cultivators moved gracefully through the hall, offering spirit fruits and tea to the guests.
Lu Chen surveyed his surroundings and deliberately chose a secluded corner.
As soon as he sat down, he spotted Zhong JingShan, who was also hiding in another corner. They exchanged polite greetings and then retreated into their own worlds.
Lu Chen had hoped to remain quietly in his corner, but things didn't go as he had planned.
Due to his reputation in the art of spirit plants and his achievements in the Sword Hall, many cultivators approached him to greet and exchange insights.
The visitors were all acquaintances: Liu Su and her small circle of spirit plant cultivators, fellow Sword Hall disciples, fellow sect members he had met during the opening of the new blessed land, and even strangers who, upon witnessing this scene, took the initiative to introduce themselves to Lu Chen.
Lu Chen maintained a polite facade as he noticed that the silent Zhong JingShan, sitting not too far away, had attracted an even larger crowd. This realization brought a sense of balance to his heart.
He secretly observed the inner sect cultivators who entered the hall one after another.
Among the cultivators present, there were five True Disciples: Jian Wuxia, who possessed the innate Sword Body; Zhong JingShan, skilled in insect control; Huo Lin'er, with her Fire Spirit body; Bai Feiyu, the Sword Hall True Disciple he had just met; and an unfamiliar True Disciple.
Of the remaining cultivators, over a dozen were in the late and peak stages of the Foundation Establishment, and several dozen were in the early and middle stages, making it a gathering of considerable scale.
Soon, a flash of red light streaked across the hall, and Huo Lin'er appeared at the front.
"Fellow sect members, welcome to the Treasure Exchange Assembly hosted by me and my senior brother, Bai Feiyu."
"This assembly aims to provide a platform for all of you to exchange treasures, share cultivation insights, and get to know your fellow sect members."
"The assembly will be divided into two parts. The first stage is directed exchanges, where you may come forward to present your treasures and state your desired exchange. Within a set time, those below the stage may choose whether to participate in the exchange."
"The second stage is free exchange, where you may form groups with multiple sect members, each taking what they need and offering what they can to obtain their desired treasures."
"There is only one rule for this assembly: no coercion, no strong-arming. If anyone disregards the bond between fellow sect members and breaks this rule, then my senior brother and I will not show any mercy."
Huo Lin'er's youthful face took on a solemn expression, and fiery lotuses blossomed from her robe.
"Alright, let the exchange begin."
With that, she leaped down from the stage.
After a few breaths, a figure swiftly arrived on the stage.
A middle-aged cultivator at the late Foundation Establishment stage bowed to the crowd below.
"Fellow senior brothers and sisters, junior brothers and sisters, today I shall kick off the treasure exchange."
As he finished speaking, a uniquely designed flying sword appeared before him.
The flying sword was about three feet long, with a crystalline and slender blade resembling a vertebra. An icy aura permeated the air, causing a thin layer of white mist to form around the sword.
"This is the fourth-grade flying sword, Han Gu Jian, forged from the remains of a fourth-grade demon beast, the Frostbite Wyrm. Its strikes can invoke extreme cold, making it exceptionally lethal."
"I am open to exchanging it for a defensive artifact of the same grade or a pill that can enhance my cultivation at the same level."
