Lu Jiaxin called a private investigator and asked him to discreetly look into whether there had been anything unusual with Nie Manli, Nie Jingshu, Kang Huijuan, and the others over the past few days. As for Nie Jingwen and his wife, they had been kind to her from the start, so she didn't suspect them. Old Man Nie was also excluded from her suspicions; he just needed to accept her forcing Nie Zhan to break up with her, and there was no need for him to do anything else.

Zong Shimeng's favorite brand was Hermes, and she was a regular customer. As soon as she entered the store, the staff escorted her to the lounge and brought out all the latest designs for her to choose from.
Hermes was renowned worldwide for its exquisite craftsmanship, especially in its bags. Zong Shimeng took a fancy to a crocodile leather handbag in golden brown-black and tried it on: "Jiaxin, what do you think?"
Lu Jiaxin smiled and said, "The bag looks great with your outfit today."
Hearing this, Zong Shimeng asked the attendant to wrap it up and then turned her attention to men's bags and belts. Lu Jiaxin didn't waste time either and started browsing as well.
After Zong Shimeng had made her selections, she noticed that Lu Jiaxin had only chosen a watch and a tie. She smiled and said, "Nie Zhan said you're frugal with your money, and it seems he's right."

Although Lu Jiaxin had only chosen a watch and a tie, they cost her a total of eighty-eight thousand dollars—eighty-six thousand for the diamond watch and two thousand for the tie. In contrast, Zong Shimeng had bought herself a bag and a bracelet, while the rest of her purchases were for Hu Zhifeng. It seemed that the primary purpose of this shopping trip was to buy things for Hu Zhifeng, and her own purchases were just an afterthought.
Lu Jiaxin knew that Hu Zhifeng was also a big fan of Hermes, as he had been wearing and using their products during their two meetings. So, it wasn't surprising that Zong Shimeng was buying so many things.
Afterward, Zong Shimeng went to Chanel to buy perfume. Lu Jiaxin, on the other hand, was thinking about her book of ancient recipes, and she carefully examined the perfumes on display, asking the attendant many questions. In the end, she bought two bottles of perfume—one for herself and one for Nie Zhan, who she knew preferred a particular scent.
Because they had started their shopping trip quite late, it was already past noon after visiting just these two stores. The two women went to a nearby Italian restaurant for lunch.
During the meal, Lu Jiaxin asked, "Sister-in-law, does your younger sister have a boyfriend?"
Zong Shimeng's two younger sisters were already married, so she knew that Lu Jiaxin was referring to her cousin, Hu Huihui. "Are you talking about Huihui? She's single at the moment. Why, do you have someone suitable you'd like to introduce to her?"
Lu Jiaxin didn't beat around the bush and directly asked, "What do you think of Su Heyuan?"
Zong Shimeng had heard of Su Heyuan but had never met him. She joked, "At your age, aren't you supposed to be advocating for free love? Why are you playing matchmaker all of a sudden?"
Lu Jiaxin spread her hands and said helplessly, "I wouldn't know how to do something like that.
"It was Su Heyuan who happened to run into you both at Fulinmen last time. He was captivated by Miss Hu on the spot, but he was afraid of being too forward and didn't dare to approach her. As soon as he got home, he called me and begged me to introduce them."
"Auntie, I'm very close with you, but I haven't met Huihui yet! He really took a liking to her and begged me several times, so I could only pluck up the courage to ask you about it."
