Chapter 454: Cona's Reply
Chapter 454: Cona's Reply
Friday, the day before the Quidditch World Cup begins.
In the morning, a brand new car drove into Hogsmeade Village.
Hermione had arrived.
Mrs. Weasley had originally planned to pick her up, but Mr. Granger found it too much trouble, so he brought Hermione over according to the address on the letter.
Furthermore, to express his gratitude, he brought a large set of oral care products as a gift.
"Oh, what a beautiful car..." Mr. Granger's silver sedan caught Mr. Weasley's eye.
Ever since Ron lost his old Ford, Mrs. Weasley had strictly forbidden him from buying another one.
So now, Mr. Weasley could only satisfy his curiosity by admiring the car from the outside, occasionally crouching down to examine the tire treads.
Mr. Granger was accustomed to this behavior and thoughtfully handed him the car keys.
There was nothing strange about it; when he first encountered the magical world, his behavior wasn't much better than Mr. Weasley's.
Mrs. Weasley also came out and invited Mr. Granger to stay for lunch.
Mr. Granger shook his head, saying he had an appointment with a client and declined.
He was a dentist, and Mr. Weasley was very interested in this profession. After he left, he took the oral care products to study them.
Mrs. Weasley called Ginny and asked her to take Hermione on a tour of the shack.
Seeing a wizarding family for the first time, Hermione found everything here fascinating, a feeling completely different from being at school.
In the afternoon, Cedric and Cho also arrived, and a large group of people crowded into the shack. According to Fred and George, they had never felt the house so crowded.
Kyle wrote a letter to Cona, asking if she wanted to come along as well.
But when Ratton returned, he brought with him a short reply agreeing to meet at the venue tomorrow, along with a small bottle containing a blue liquid.
This was a toxic potion often used to eliminate household pests.
...
Around 5 PM, Mr. Weasley prepared to pick up the last person, Harry, as he had to prepare dinner. The task of picking up Harry fell to him.
"Dad, can we come with you?" Fred and George volunteered.
They had rushed back from Kyle's house after learning that they were going to pick up Harry.
"Alright," Mr. Weasley agreed, but after thinking for a moment, he reminded them, "No pranks. That family doesn't like wizards, and we can't cause trouble for Harry."
"I think he's already in a bad situation," Fred muttered.
They had picked up Harry once before and were well aware of his circumstances.
However, Mr. Weasley didn't hear this remark as he was throwing Floo Powder into the fireplace.
Before this, he had already submitted an application to the Floo Network Administration under the pretext of picking someone up, temporarily connecting the Dursley family's fireplace to the Floo Network.
Although the Ministry of Magic stipulated that Muggle fireplaces couldn't be connected to the Floo Network, Mr. Weasley had many friends, including someone from the Floo Network Administration.
So the application was quickly approved, but the time was very short, only ten minutes.
Kyle knew that stamps were needed when sending letters, but Floo Powder was used for picking up people... He didn't know what to say.
If he had to choose between the two, he felt the Dursley family would be more accepting of an owl delivering letters than a person suddenly appearing from the fireplace.
However, he didn't stop them, as they had agreed to meet at 5 PM, and there were less than ten minutes left.
This was not enough time to make it there, and if they didn't use Floo Powder, they would have to Apparate, which would be more likely to trigger the Dursleys' nerves.
"Hurry up, we only have ten minutes!"
When the flames in the fireplace turned green, Mr. Weasley was the first to step through.
"Surrey, Number 4 Privet Drive!"
The green flames in the fireplace shot up, and Mr. Weasley disappeared.
Fred and George followed suit, stepping into the fireplace one after the other.
Ron wanted to go too, but Mrs. Weasley grabbed him.
"Don't go in too many at once, that family doesn't like wizards."
Upon hearing this, Hermione, who had been eager to try Floo Powder, immediately stopped in her tracks.
Five minutes later, Fred was the first to return.
As he stepped out of the fireplace, he excitedly went to Kyle's side and whispered, "I dropped a bag of jellybeans on my way out, leaving one behind on purpose..."
At that moment, George and Harry also arrived.
"Did he eat it?" Fred asked eagerly, reaching out to pull Harry up.
"Yes, he did," Harry stood up. "What was it...?"
"A jellybean," Fred replied with a mischievous smile. "It was your idea, and we've been looking for someone to try it all summer..."

The small kitchen erupted in laughter.
Harry also heaved a sigh of relief. To be honest, when he saw Dudley uncontrollably floating up to the ceiling, he thought he had blown him up again, just like what happened to Aunt Marge last year.
Harry then looked around and greeted everyone.
Charlie and Bill were also curious about him.
The boy who lived, they had only heard of him before, and this was their first time meeting.
Soon, the fire in the fireplace went out.
"Mr. Weasley hasn't come out yet!" Hermione exclaimed anxiously.
"Don't worry," Ron waved his hand. "Dad has a way..."
Before Ron could finish his sentence, a faint cracking sound was heard. Mr. Weasley suddenly appeared next to George, looking furious.
"This is no joke, Fred!" he shouted. "What did you give that Muggle boy?"
"I didn't give him anything," Fred smirked. "I just accidentally spilled it on the ground, and he picked it up and ate it himself... It's not my fault."
"You did it on purpose to make him eat it!" Mr. Weasley knew his son too well. "You know he's on a diet... He would definitely eat it!"
"Did he really fly?" George asked eagerly.
"All the way to the ceiling!"
Harry and the Weasley brothers burst into laughter once again.
"This is no laughing matter!" Mr. Weasley was displeased. "This behavior seriously damages the relationship between wizards and Muggles. You shouldn't..."
"It has nothing to do with whether he's a Muggle or not!" Fred said angrily.
"Because he's been bullying Harry," George said. "And that family doesn't even give him enough food."
"That's right!" Harry agreed seriously.
To make Dudley, who was on a diet, feel better, he was only allowed one small grapefruit for each meal. Aunt Petunia seemed to believe that the best way to cheer Dudley up was to ensure he ate more than Harry.
However, even with this arrangement, Dudley would often take Harry's food. If it weren't for Ron and Hermione regularly sending him some food, he wouldn't know how to get through the past month.
"The problem is not there," Mr. Weasley was still a bit angry. "Your actions themselves are wrong. And they will take it out on Harry, you're just causing him trouble."
"It's okay, Mr. Weasley," Harry shrugged, indicating that he didn't need to worry about it.
Whether or not this incident happened, his uncle and aunt wouldn't like him. Especially after last year, when he blew up Aunt Marge, they disliked him even more. It didn't matter to him...
