Chapter 454: Aries, Gemini, and Scorpio
Chapter 454: Aries, Gemini, and Scorpio
The Nirubit clan had vanished.
But Wendy declared that from this day forward, she would be the Nirubit clan.
Perhaps she wouldn't remain in this land forever, but she had learned countless Nirubit skills, and she would carry these skills far and wide, passing them on to suitable individuals along the way.
Maybe, in the distant future, Nirubit would be everywhere.
How does it feel to lose someone important? Mira, Gray, Levy, Jellie, and Xi Bi Qi... Many in the group had experienced such loss firsthand and could empathize with her.
Mira and Elusa accompanied Wendy to sort through Robin Lu's 'belongings' and planned to choose a suitable stone to erect a memorial in the village.
The others, following Robin Lu's request, decided to stay at Neko-Mebo-Hoshi for a day or two more, only leaving once they were sure Wendy was doing well.
"It's not necessary, we're fine," Shaluna felt that the presence of a few Fairy Tail pranksters was enough to liven things up, and there was no need to trouble others.
Jula spoke up, "It's alright. We mentioned earlier that we should 'strengthen the connections between guilds,' so it's a good opportunity to get to know everyone better."
A convenient excuse for the Ten Great Mages.
Shaluna turned away, "Do as you please."
Rod translated, "She said, 'Thank you.'"
Shaluna glared at Rod, "I didn't say that!"
Rod continued translating for her, "She said, 'Although I'm embarrassed to ask, you're being too talkative.' Oh, and that last part was directed at me."
Shaluna stamped her feet, her face flushing with embarrassment, "How did you interpret it that way?!"
"She said..."
"Shut up!" Shaluna interrupted Rod and flew away with her wings spread.
If she had known, she wouldn't have stayed behind to entertain them; she should have stayed with Wendy all along!
The group laughed good-naturedly. After a day, both Wendy and Shaluna's moods had improved significantly, and a little teasing was harmless.
Happy looked at Rod with admiration, wanting to learn from him.
Rod patted Happy's cat head, "Just like I couldn't help Jet and Troy, I can't help you either. Good luck. Maybe you can learn from those two."
He was referring to Lian from Blue Pegasus and Jellie from Mermaid Heel.
Even though both of them were tsundere, their relationship had progressed surprisingly fast.
By noon today, they had reached the point of serving each other food and arguing over who should eat first.
Rod felt the bickering was getting out of hand, so he and Mira imitated their mannerisms to their faces, finally making them blush and eat quietly.
"They're dating~" Happy watched the couple, who seemed to be in a tiff, and unconsciously muttered his catchphrase.
Then, he silently turned and left, deciding to go fishing—a visible effort.
The others had their own tasks: some helped Wendy with Neko-Mebo-Hoshi matters, some worked on the mission report, and some gathered ingredients to take care of the group's logistics.
Perhaps the company of the group was helpful, or maybe the pranksters were too good at causing a ruckus. Or perhaps Wendy had taken Robin Lu's final request to heart, as the smile on her face grew more frequent over the past two days.
Today was the third day since Neko-Mebo-Hoshi's disbandment.
Rod's task for the day was hunting, gathering enough meat for over a dozen people.
Just as he was about to step out, three golden lights descended before him, transforming into four peculiar figures.
One was a pink-haired beauty in white woolen attire, with a pair of sheep horns on her head.
A pair of blue, bald twin children, about the same height as Happy.
And a scorpion-tailed man.
Rod didn't recognize the pink-haired woolen girl, but he had seen the other three (two?) before:
"Are you the Gemini and Scorpio Spirits, and... Aries?"
"Rod was slightly on guard, but he didn't overreact.
According to Lucy, the star spirits summoned by the Angel, one of the Six Demon Generals, were Gemini, Scorpio, Aries, and Capricorn.
It can be confirmed that the cloaked woman who helped save the children with Mira was most likely the Angel.
However, according to the rules of the Star Spirit Contract, when the owner of a star spirit is arrested and sentenced for a crime, the contract is automatically dissolved.
Just like the Virgo spirit, Barloga, these spirits should have regained their freedom by now.
While Rod observed them, they were also observing him, particularly focusing on the Fairy Tail emblem on his clothes.
"Yes, I'm Scorpio, the Scorpio Spirit!" Scorpio raised his thumb, index finger, and pinky, forming a gesture resembling a rapper's hand sign.
Two small blue figures bounced around, exclaiming, "Bili-bili! I'm Gemini, the Gemini Spirits!"
The pink-haired girl with woolen hair spoke shyly, "I'm Aries, the Aries Spirit. Sorry!"
With just one sentence from each of them, Rod had a good idea of their personalities.
Before Rod could ask any questions, Scorpio spoke up, "Is Miss Lucy in? We want to become her star spirits."
Rod was taken aback, wondering if he had heard correctly.
As they spoke, Scorpio showed the golden key with the Scorpio symbol in his palm, and Gemini and Aries presented their keys as well, indicating that they had not yet formed a contract with anyone.
Rod was a bit incredulous, wondering if he could trust his ears. Were these star spirits actively seeking to form a contract?
Upon further thought, he recalled that the Virgo spirit, Barloga, had given her key to Happy for delivery.
What kind of blessed child was Lucy, with such a protagonist's luck? Fortunately, Rod, who had only dabbled in star spirit magic, was not a true star spirit mage; otherwise, he might have been envious of Lucy's fortunate encounters.
"Please wait a moment, I'll go get her."
Rod didn't need to be overly cautious with these uncontracted star spirits. Except for special cases like Loki, star spirits were generally not allowed to interfere in human affairs before forming a contract.
Lucy lived in a house not far behind Wendy's home.
For some reason, Natsu and Gray were fighting there today. Lucy, accustomed to their antics, covered her skirt and watched them, debating whether to move away or stay and watch for a while.
It wasn't until an ice block hit her forehead and knocked her down that she realized she should have left earlier.
"Can't you two find somewhere else to fight?" Lucy complained as she propped herself up.
The upright and honest Rod covered his eyes, "Lucy, someone's looking for you."
Lucy looked at Rod's hand in confusion and jumped up, covering her skirt and screaming, "Ah!"
"Rod, you're just in time! We haven't settled the score from last time!" Natsu, remembering his ambush, temporarily left Gray and charged towards Rod.
Rod refused to fight him at that moment, "Stop it, I have something else to do."
"Who cares about that!" Natsu's fist ignited with flames.
Rod sighed, "Mountain Dragon Soul."
Natsu felt a flash before his eyes, and a sharp pain on his head, causing him to collapse to the ground, his limbs twitching slightly.
Rod blew on his fist and looked at Gray, "You're not going to join in, are you?"
"No, I'll pass," Gray said, not as stubborn as Natsu. He muttered, "Why have you become so strong so quickly? Are you still training every day?"
Rod looked up at the sky, "If Erza became your girlfriend, you'd work as hard as me."
"Spare me..."
