Chapter 453
Chapter 453
More than a month had passed since their last encounter, and Feng Bu Jue now stood as a completely different opponent compared to Zhao Ying Wang. In terms of combat power, Feng Bu Jue held an overwhelming advantage without question.
Yet... Zhao Ying Wang remained one of the few adversaries Feng Bu Jue least wanted to face.
This player, renowned for his summoning-type ability, belonged to the same category as Seven Kill. Both dedicated themselves entirely to a single proficiency, dismissing all other aspects of cultivation. But precisely because of this singular focus, they shared an unyielding resolve to never concede in their chosen specialty.
"Trying to challenge me through summoned entities?" Zhao Ying Wang sneered arrogantly as Feng Bu Jue summoned his own creature to counter. "You're asking for death!"
【A killer intent radiating expert unleashed the Stone Demon's immense strength, launching an earth-shattering attack. The surrounding scenery trembled, and violent air currents spiraled wildly as Feng Bu Jue and his Warrior Spirit were overwhelmed by the destruction force. Before the move even arrived, Feng Bu Jue's momentum had already faltered.】
【But at this moment...】
The narration abruptly shifted as an unexpected crisis erupted.
A cold light flashed from dozens of meters above—a radiant arrow pierced through the air, targeting the Stone Demon's arm.
Zhao Ying Wang reacted instantly, commanding the Stone Demon to halt momentarily and evade the arrow's sharp edge.
【Hong Hu nocked his bow, shaking heaven and earth.】
【Hmph!】
【With a crisp shout, the arrow flew at full string tension. Penetrating wind and clouds, its speed surpassed even the Meteor Strike. A blazing spirit arrow tore through the battlefield, reshaping the conflict entirely.】
At this moment, Feng Bu Jue exhaled in relief. When he noticed additional skills enhancing the Stone Demon's crushing fist, he realized the danger he faced. Now, this sudden arrow had unexpectedly turned the tide. He quickly signaled Masun to withdraw, retreating several zhang together.
Meanwhile, Zhao Ying Wang's peripheral vision shifted toward the arrow's origin. "Hmph... So you're joining the fray too?"
"The finals are free-for-alls by nature. What difference does it make whether I 'join the crowd' or not?" Hong Hu's silhouette appeared atop a nearby building, speaking in his signature calm tone. "Though honestly... who would actually shout 'Hmph!' when intervening?"
"Eh? Glasses guy." Feng Bu Jue looked up, spotting him. "What a coincidence."
Hong Hu adjusted his glasses with a faint snort. "Feng Bu Jue, you'd better drop your habit of giving nicknames."
"Oh? You two know each other?" Zhao Ying Wang's expression shifted slightly. "Hmph... So that means you're teaming up to gang up on me?"
"Nonsense." Hong Hu shook his head. "I'm not here to assist anyone." His gaze fixed on Zhao Ying Wang. "I simply wish to settle matters with Brother Shadow in a one-on-one duel."
In truth, the two had no particular grudges. However, as renowned individual-class players, their fans inevitably compared them. Over time, both began questioning whether they should test their strengths against each other.
"Great!" Feng Bu Jue elongated his exclamation dramatically, adopting an expression of righteous indignation. "Since that's the case, you two can fight at your leisure while I take my leave." He bowed respectfully and turned to leave—a display of sheer audacity.
"Hold on!" Hong Hu called out.
"What now?" Feng Bu Jue turned back, his face twisting into an annoyed scowl. "Didn't you say you wanted a one-on-one match with him?"
"I did." Hong Hu smiled. "But there's still one more party here..." As he spoke, a towering Black Shadow materialized at his left side. "He seems rather interested in you."
"Tch..." Feng Bu Jue muttered in frustration, thinking, I knew this guy came prepared. Normally, he'd wait until I finish fighting Zhao Ying Wang or ambush me at a critical moment. But why appear now and challenge Zhao Ying Wang directly? That's so out of character... Even if he trusts his companion's capabilities, there's no need to reveal himself so urgently. Two opponents could have waited...
Feng Bu Jue's thoughts were interrupted as he finally recognized the Black Shadow beside Hong Hu.
All his questions immediately resolved themselves.
"I see..." Feng Bu Jue raised his voice toward Hong Hu. "This one... you encountered along the way, right?"
"Correct", Hong Hu replied. "This 'Juror' Mr. seemed eager to find you, so I assisted in the search." He pushed his glasses up. "My reconnaissance proficiency is quite formidable, if I may say so."
"Using Npcs against me..." Feng Bu Jue chuckled. "Hmph... Now this feels like your true style." He shook his head with feigned helplessness. "You gain two points for killing Zhao Ying Wang yourself and one for eliminating me through an Npc. Though it seems like only three out of five points, those are secure gains. Besides, as a top-tier seed contestant, the earlier you eliminate me, the fewer points I accumulate." He paused. "Truly the work of a strategist. While others focus on 'how to kill more opponents,' you concentrate on 'how to stop the most promising seeds from scoring.'"
"Hey, don't speak as if he's already succeeded", Zhao Ying Wang interjected. "I never conceded defeat yet."
As the players conversed, the Juror descended along the building's edge, landing directly before Feng Bu Jue.
"Feng... Bu... Jue", it intoned deliberately. "A seat awaits you on the defendant's bench at the Tribunal of Truth."
This Juror, predictably, wasn't human either. Visually, it resembled a massive... Sawakani (one of the Pocket Monster species from the Pokémon universe, with brown skin, three-fingered hands, leg-like bone-colored springs for limbs, and martial arts expertise).
"I'm guessing..." Feng Bu Jue began. "Charged with spreading chaos?"
"That's merely one of your listed crimes", the Juror replied.
"Hmph... Only your so-called charges", Feng Bu Jue countered. "What obligation do I have to follow your principles?"
"The Tribunal of Truth holds authority to judge all crimes across the multiverse", the Juror declared. "Do you truly believe sophistry and defiance can evade a fair trial?"
"Fair?" Feng Bu Jue's expression darkened into a sinister smile. "In my eyes, only death is fair. Everyone dies, but... not everyone lives as they wish."
"Arrogant nonsense", the Juror retorted. "Do you truly think chaos can corrupt me?"
Zhao Ying Wang watched silently, his thoughts churning. Feng Bu Jue, I thought you merely excelled at drawing aggro among players. Never imagined you'd become infamous enough for forces under the Four Pillars Deity to pursue and assassinate you in any scenario... If not for the live broadcast, I'd genuinely applaud your notoriety.
