Chapter 452: Is There Enough Alcohol for Four People?
Chapter 452: Is There Enough Alcohol for Four People?
Several hundred meters away from the clearing, a crowd had gathered, their faces tense and anxious.
Among them were Blackbeard and Jesus Burgess, standing or squatting together, their eyes fixed on the distant figures of Shanks, Garp, and Dragon. The weight of the moment hung heavy in the air.
"Hero Garp!"
"Revolutionary, Dragon!"
Though none present knew of the father-son relationship between Garp and Dragon, there was no doubt that these two individuals, one a naval hero and the other deemed the most dangerous criminal by the World Government, were forces to be reckoned with.
Even though Garp was alone, without any other navy personnel, he was still a formidable presence. As for Dragon, he had an entire cadre of followers with him.
Dragon's followers gathered on one side, led by none other than the Okama King, Ivankov. Ivankov's usually exuberant demeanor had given way to a tense wariness as he, too, kept a close eye on Shanks, Garp, and their companions. A bead of cold sweat trickled down his forehead.
"Red Hair Shanks... Hero Garp... How did we end up encountering these two...?"
Even Ivankov was unaware of Dragon's true origins. In his eyes, Shanks and Garp were among the most dangerous individuals in this world—a single misstep in negotiations with them could easily escalate into an all-out war!
The people beside Ivankov shared his anxiety, their faces pale and nervous as they watched the unfolding scene.
"There's no need to worry too much," Ivankov said, sensing the palpable tension among his companions. He took a deep breath and continued, "Although those two are formidable, Dragon has the capability to handle this. Even if the negotiations fall apart, we can still withdraw. There's no way Garp and Red Hair would join forces, and Garp doesn't have any other navy members with him."
"Mmm..."
One of the Revolutionary Army's officers beside Ivankov swallowed hard and added, "Ivankov-sama is right. But those two..."
Despite understanding the logic behind Ivankov's words, they couldn't shake the nervousness they felt toward Shanks and Garp, two of the most fearsome figures in these seas.
"Rest assured, everything will be fine," Ivankov said, his hands on his hips in an attempt to project confidence.
But just as he finished speaking, a voice, startlingly nonchalant, cut through the air.
"I hope there's enough alcohol for four people."
The voice carried a hint of ease and a hint of a smile, its tone cheerful and completely devoid of any tension or anxiety.
Ivankov and his companions froze, then turned their heads in the direction of the voice, curious to see who dared to speak so casually in front of those three formidable figures.
However...
As Ivankov and the others followed the sound of the voice, their eyes falling on the speaker, their expressions seemed to freeze in place.
Ivankov's eyes widened to the point of almost popping out of their sockets, and he couldn't help but let out a startled cry. "Ahhh... Traveler?!
Ivankov plopped down on his rear, his clothes instantly soaked with cold sweat.
If Red Hair, Garp, and Dragon were among the most fearsome individuals in this world, then Feng Ye was the most fearsome existence in this world, bar none!
In the past eight hundred years, no one but Feng Ye had been able to consecutively destroy the Navy Headquarters and the Holy Land of Mariejois, striking such fear into the World Nobles that they dared not take any retaliatory action!
Even the infamous captain of the Rocks Pirates, the most terrifying figure of the previous era, had not achieved such a feat. He, too, had been buried in history by the World Government!
"...!"
Under the stunned gazes of Ivankov and his companions, Feng Ye approached the clearing with a casual demeanor and a slight smile on his face. He walked right up to where Garp and the others stood.
"I just received news that you took care of the Golden Lion over there, and then you showed up here right after. Quite the coincidence."
Garp, who had been looking at Feng Ye with a slight frown, suddenly relaxed and picked up his cup. "What you did at the Holy Land... that was truly refreshing."
Despite being a marine, Garp had always despised the actions of the World Nobles, even going so far as to openly call them garbage.
Due to his immense contributions and personal strength, even the Five Elders had no choice but to turn a blind eye to his behavior.
Feng Ye's actions at the Holy Land, where he single-handedly eliminated most of the World Nobles, was something that Garp found incredibly satisfying.
"It was nothing but a casual effort, not worth mentioning," Feng Ye replied with a casual smile.
He sat down next to the trio, and before Red Hair could even ask his subordinates for a cup, Feng Ye extended his hand.
As he did so, the grass beneath them silently split open, and a clump of soil floated up, landing in Feng Ye's palm. It quickly melted and reshaped itself into the form of a cup.
Fiery flames appeared and scorched the cup, causing it to rapidly solidify. Finally, a cool whirlwind blew over it, cooling it down in mere seconds.
Pata!
The brand-new cup landed in Feng Ye's hand, and a red hue spread from the bottom, soon covering the entire surface, making it identical to the cups used by Red Hair and the others.
Red Hair, Garp, and Dragon watched this display, momentarily stunned, until Feng Ye placed the cup on the ground and they snapped back to their senses.
"This... this goes beyond Devil Fruit abilities," Shanks said, pausing for a second before picking up the nearby jug and filling Feng Ye's newly crafted cup.
Feng Ye gave a gentle smile. "It's just a little trick."
Shanks hesitated briefly before turning back to Feng Ye, a gleam in his eyes. "Senior Feng Ye... are you truly a god walking among men?"
When they had first met, Feng Ye had displayed awe-inspiring power, but Shanks' perspective had broadened since then.
Having ventured into the New World and heard countless stories about Feng Ye, he, like others, felt that Feng Ye might not be human. Such power seemed beyond the capabilities of mortals!
"No," Feng Ye said, lifting his cup and gazing at the clear liquid within. "I'm not what you imagine... I'm just a slightly more powerful human, that's all."
Garp's lips twitched.
Slightly more powerful? He was incredibly powerful! The overwhelming strength Feng Ye had displayed at the Navy Headquarters was still fresh in his memory. At a time when Garp believed his own strength to be at the pinnacle of the seas, Feng Ye had revealed a level of power that far surpassed his own!
